William Clarke is a former professional fighter employed by the Ultimate Crossover Tournament Fighting League. He is the first, and to this day, only man to ever obtain "Grand Slam" status in the federation's history. William has also spead his wings outside of the Professional Fightning Scene, as he was a star in The Feature Film "Sailor Moon: The Movie" as Darien "Tuxedo Mask" Shields.
Description[]
William Clarke is a slender young man, standing at approximately six foot, one inch, and weighs in at around one hundred, eighty five pounds. You will NEVER see him without his "lucky" striped black and white yankees cap he wore the day The Yankees won with controversy over the Oriales in 1996(Remember that idiot kid who reached over and caught the ball? He was there in the stadium!). It's either to the back, or loosely fitting the front of his head. He usually wears a white "wife-beater" tank top with a blue over shirt. In the winter though, he wears a black triple fat goose type coat, a black trench coat, or a Tommy H Hooded sweatshirt. He's always wearing some form of khaki pants with his Timb or Lugz boots.
William Clarke is a very quiet and shy individual, which some people usually mistake for being "standoffish." Never saying a word, never smiling, William is usually all business to the point where people may suspect he has some form of Asperger's Syndrome. Further evidence is in his fighting ability. William has the uncanny skill of adapting to his opponent's fighting type. That's why it is IMPERATIVE for his opponent to attempt to take William down as fast as possible, because the longer a battle goes with this kid, the harder it will be to defeat him.
William also has an extremely high moral value and strong belief in Christian values. He is always wearing a silver cross necklace. He's also been known to make run-ins to stop group beatings on ANYONE, even those who are his enemies. This kind of behavior causes a polar reaction from the fans who either love him, or hate him for his extremely baby face attributes.
History[]
William Clarke was born on August 25 th 1983 in the Fort Greene Section of New York City. William was a mild mannered boy growing up, until he was angered. His temper was so bad, that as a small child, doctors precribed him a pill to keep his attitude in check. The medication, along with William later adopting the art of meditation, helped him a great deal. During his short 18 years on Earth, William never set foot outside the Tri-state Area. So when this kid graduated at the top of his class in 2001, the first thing on his agenda was moving as far away from New York as possible. Enter Anime City.
William saw a small college on the west coast named Anime City University and jumped at the chance. That decision served to be one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Moving to an island filled with super powered beings makes living in Brooklyn seem like the FARM life.
Upon moving into his new college, William was faced with new and interesting people. He met the girl of his dreams, and his new college roomate was a former pro-wrestler from Philidelphia. That roomate, Shawn Shane Shields was currently a fighter in the larger than life Ultimate Crossover Tournament Fighting League. This fighting league is NOTORIOUS for giving anyone off the street a chance, who believes they have what it takes. Shawn, who watched William almost win a Martial Arts Tournament, saw potential in his roomate, and attempted to persuade the young man into joining the fed. William turned down Triple S's offer without a second thought, until he saw one of his paychecks. It was bigger than an entire's YEAR worth of work he made while living in New York City. Given the fact that Shawn only had to fight once a week gave him enough reason to give it a try.
No one could have expected what would happen next. William won his first match. Then his second. Then his third. And Fourth. And Fifth. Clarke had not only adapted to the cut throat world of the UCTF... but he began to dominate.
This made problems for the UCTF fighter to grow exponentially in the first short six months he was employed with the League. As he climbed the ladder of success, there were many scratching and crawling in attempt to pull him down. As new rivals such as Ethan Rice, Seth Conway, and Kunoi Ishigami appeared and gave William harder challenges, William's life outside the squared circle became complicated. From becoming a down hill racer, to being involved in an international incident of mistaken identity, trouble followed William around like a shadow.
And if things couldn't get anymore crazy for William Clarke, his x-gene manifested. William gained the ability to mimic the mutations of those around him. This could be anything from stealing someone's power to fly, to taking Vegeta's ability to manifest ki into a solid blast of energy. Unfortunately, the code names "Prodigy" and "Synch" were taken, so William never got one. This new gift somewhat disgusted William, who began to doubt himself. Through all of the years of being #1 in his class, was it his own knowledge or had he been using other people's??
He had no time to worry about that, as his UCTF life began delivering bigger and stronger challenges to William, all the while trying to manage college life, manage a girlfriend, and try to live everyday... being caught in the middle of battles against evil mutants, demons, filming a movie and terroristic plots between super organized military factions such as Hydra, AIM, and S.H.I.E.L.D. It was obvious in his two year stay in Anime City was a bad career choice. But unfortunately for William, it was his only choice. It was his destiny.
Theme Song[]
- Will's UCTF Theme Song is "Remember The Name" by Fort Minor.
Techniques[]
William studied the basics of Tae Kwon Do and Judo by attending classes in his neighborhood and reading method books. From this, he has learned to use the elementary array of kicks, stances, throws, and locks.
Tae Kwon Do Kicks[]
- Ahp-cha-gi - Front Kick
- Dolryo-cha-gi - Round House
- Naeryo-cha-gi - Axe Kick
- Yop-cha-gi - Side Kick
- Dwi-cha-gi - Backward Kick
- Horyo-cha-gi - Hook Kick
- Bandae-golryo - Reverse Roundhouse Kick
- Double Kick - Front Leg Lead and Back Leg Lead
- Triple Kick - The Same as the Double, but adding in an additional Kick
- Savate off the Ladder - If there's a ladder in the ring William will leap from the top rope, nailing the opponent in the nose with a savate kick filled with not only his weight, but the force of gravity itself!
- Wrist Lock Savate Kick - William twists his opponents arm over into a wrist lock, then drills them in the neck with a stiff kick! (Setup for the Brooklyn Stretch! e_e more about that move later.)
- Jumping Hook Kick (Top Rope) - Off the top rope, William nails his opponent with a hook kick.
- Triple Jump Savate Kick - He jumps off of a chair, onto the top rope, spins a 180 on the top rope and leaps off! Instead of hitting the normal moonsault, William whips himself around and nails a stiff kick to the face of his opponent.
- Handspring Roundhouse - Tajiri style Handspring off the ropes, turned into a roundhouse kick.
Judo Techniques[]
- Japanese Arm Drag - He flips his opponent over his back horizontally as they run towards him.
- Judo Toss 1 - Your basic over the shoulder Judo throw.
- Judo Toss 2 - The same as the first Judo through, except William flips with the throw, and lands on his opponent.
- Judo Hip Toss - William grabs both arms of his opponent, and flings them backwards with a monkey toss.
- STO - Will wraps his arm underneath the arm and around the neck of his opponent as if they were in the Rock Bottom position. William then sweeps the opponent's leg from under them, driving them back first into the mat.
- STO2 - Will pulls the opponent towards him, he wraps his arm underneath the arm and around the neck of his opponent as if they were in the Rock Bottom position before lifting them up into the air and spinning to the side, William drops to his knees impacting the opponent's back to the mat.
- Suplex Frenzy - William, using the opponent's own weight against them, tosses the person continuously with judo tosses, arm drags, hip tosses, and suplexes one right after the other every time the person stands up and attacks. This also works great if he's being attacked by two or more people.
Finishers[]
- (Finisher #1)540° Kick - The 540 kick, also known as inside turning kick, jump inside kick, tornado kick and Xuanfengjiao (旋風腳), is a martial arts move present in various disciplines including Taekwondo, Wushu kung fu, Shaolinquan, Capoeira, but traditionally most associated with the Chinese martial arts. This technique is so named because, at completion, the performer has performed a rotation of approximately 540 degrees (although usually, when performed correctly, the performer has really only done a spin of 360 degrees not including whatever takeoff they used). However, the most prominent defining feature is that the same leg is used for taking off, kicking, and landing. The other leg mainly helps get the performer into the air, and then the leg is pulled back before the landing. Many martial arts tricksters choose this move as their first move to attempt.
- Variation: 540 Top Rope Reversal - If the Opponent leaps from the top rope, Will reverses the attack with his 540 finisher!
- (Finisher #2)Brooklyn Stretch - This submission can be locked on after William's Hza Guruma Knee Wheel. As the opponent is laying back first on the mat, William rolls them over onto their stomach, locks on a hammerlock with his knee, while locking on a single leg boston crab, causing a tap out from his opponent. He debuted this move during a number one contendership match with Andre Tau.
- (Finisher #3)Go to Hell™ Suplex - A move taught to him by The Game "Shawn Shane Shields." Basically, it's a jumping brainbuster. During the initial lift off, William leaps in the air.
- (Finisher #4)The Brooklyn Explosion - William stands behind the opponent and applies a waistlock, he lifts the opponent up into the air before spinning them in midair, William catches the opponent across their chest so he is standing to the side of the opponent with one arm across their chest and under the opponent's arms. William falls forward, driving the opponent back first to the mat.
- (Finisher #5)The Clarke Effect - Will takes the opponents arm and wraps it around their own neck, then William quickly moves behind the opponent and falls down to his back resulting in the opponent going through a devastating neckbreaker!
- (Finisher #6: PPV ONLY)The 720 Kick - Also known as Capoerista's as the "Mariposa" William gets two full rotations before nailing his opponent with a powerful kick (Debuted Against Hystalin and Ryokun).
- (Finisher #7: PPV ONLY)Greetings to NYC - This is by far, William's most devestating Finisher! If Will somehow gets his opponent on their knees, he blasts them to the side of the face with a spinning front kick. Then, he spins the opposite direction, nailing them full force on the bridge of their nose with a spinning heel. If they're still conscious by then, William will bounce off the ropes behind them, and bounce on the opposing ropes after that. Then.. with all of his speed and momentum behind him, he drops a DOUBLE DROPKICK to the face!
