WiiVolution was a stable in MFGG Wrestling. It was active from November 7 to November 20, 2006.

Formation[]

November 5, 2006, was MFGG Wrestling's first ever "interactive supershow," MFGG Error 404. MFGG SoVeryHardcore Champion Dark Yoshi and Julio Cesar F were each chosen via an online vote to challenge Press Start and The Blue Griffin for the MFGG Tag Team Championship. The duo won, and later in the night, Julio Cesar F defeated Press Start in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match to become the first ever MFGG Internet Champion. Realizing the potential power that could be harnessed by a group which held all MFGG championships, Dark Yoshi and Cesar F contacted Undisputed World Champion Suigi about joining their team. On November 7, 2006, Julio Cesar F officially announced the formation of WiiVolution. The name was a reference to the Wii, a video game console that was soon to be launched by Nintendo.

Upon its formation, WiiVolution was compared unfavorably to the former X-Degeneration stable by MFGG booker and XD alumn Captain Jeff Silvers (Dark Yoshi and Suigi were both former members of XD).

Domination of MFGG Wrestling[]

One aspect of WiiVolution that was undoubtedly similar to X-Degeneration was its desire to dominate MFGG Wrestling. Though it never officially declared war on the e-fed in the manner XD did, it managed to maintain a tight grip on other MFGGers by controlling all the championships. Though they were somewhat ineffective at winning matches wherein a title wasn't on the line, they were nearly always successful in defending their championships. This was no more apparent than at Daily Damage #100: Night of Champions; all four matches at that event saw WiiVolution members successfully defend their titles.

The aptly-titled MFGG Retribution supershow saw all losers from DD100 receive rematches against their opponents. Press Start managed to defeat Dark Yoshi to win the SoVeryHardcore Championship (though DY would regain it two days later). Captain Jeff Silvers also won his rematch against Suigi, though it was a non-title match. The main event, as suggested by WiiVolution's own Dark Yoshi, was a five-on-three Elimination Handicap Match that saw Captain Jeff Silvers, Littlink, Press Start, Stinkoman, and Zasshou defeat all three members of WiiVolution.

The second Civil War[]

Following the event, Captain Jeff Silvers announced that the next supershow would be MFGG Civil War 2: WiiVolution. This event was a throwback to MFGG vs XD Civil War, which had been held the previous August and pitted members of MFGG Wrestling against X-Degeneration. Civil War 2 would have a similar theme. WiiVolution member Suigi upped the ante further by confidently stating that if WiiVolution did not win a majority of the five bouts, the group would disband.

The week preceeding the show was largely uneventful. Each side managed to claim wins over the other, and WiiVolution went into the event holding all the gold. Leading up to the event, it was decided that Captain Jeff Silvers, Press Start, and Zasshou would represent Team MFGG in an Elimination Tag Team Match against WiiVolution in the main event. However, the day prior to the show, Zasshou announced he was taking a leave from MFGG Wrestling, and Silvers chose Stinkoman to replace him.

MFGG scored its first victory in the first match of Civil War 2 when Silvers and Press Start defeated Dark Yoshi and Julio Ceasr F to win the MFGG Tag Team Championship. The score was tied after the next match, which saw WiiVolution's Dark Yoshi defeat Silvers to retain the SoVeryHardcore Championship. MFGG once again gained the advantage in the next match, when Stinkoman defeated Julio Cesar F to become the second ever Internet Champion. When Press Start won Suigi's Undisputed World Championship in the following match, MFGG had officially gained the three wins necessary to declare themselves the victors of the night. It was now certain that WiiVolution's days as a faction were numbered, but there was still one final match: the Elimination Tag Team main event. After a long and grueling bout, WiiVolution managed to score some final revenge against their opponents by winning the match, with Dark Yoshi and Suigi the survivors. Ironically, Civil War 2 was held on the same day the Wii launched.

On November 20, 2006--the night following Civil War 2--Suigi made good on his promise and officially announced that WiiVolution had disbanded.

Legacy[]

WiiVolution was a fairly short-lived faction, but it managed to maintain a sense of domination throughout its life. With the exception of a short two-day period in which Press Start held the MFGG SoVeryHardcore Championship, the faction controlled all titles from its formation until Civil War 2. Dark Yoshi and Julio Cesar F briefly remained a tag team following the death of WiiVolution, receiving a rematch for the titles on November 21 (which they lost).

Julio Cesar F felt that the group disbanded prematurely; this became the basis of a feud with Suigi, which culminated at MFGG Bleak December in a match for Suigi's MFGG SoVeryHardcore Championship, which Cesar F won. They briefly teamed up after this.

In late December 2006, Cesar F and Dark Yoshi would team up again, this time with Doc Wario as The Ultimate Legion. Suigi, meanwhile, reformed X-Degeneration with Press Start and Captain Jeff Silvers to combat The Ultimate Legion.

In early April 2007, Julio Cesar F announced his defection to XD from the regular MFGG roster. This is the first time that Julio, Dark Yoshi, and Suigi have been in the same faction since WiiVolution, and Suigi has gone so far as to say that the unit has officially reunited as a core segment of XD.
