The WWE United States Championship is the second-tier championship title in the WWE E-Fed federation on Saturday Night Smackdown; the second brand of the company. The first champion was Danny Basham who won a fatal fourway to become the inaugural champion. The current champion is Adam Cole who is in his first reign, after defeating Abyss at Wrestlemania XXIX on April 21, 2013. Damaja and Montel Vontavious Porter hold the record for the most reigns with three reigns each. Drew McIntyre currently holds the shortest reign with 10 days. Goldust currently holds the record for longest reign (as an individual) with 230 days.
