The WWE Intercontinental Championship is the second-tier championship title in the WWE E-Fed federation on Monday Night RAW; the first brand of the company. The first champion was Carlito who defeated Chris Jericho to become the inaugural champion. The current champion is James Storm who is in his first reign, after defeating Dolph Ziggler on the May 20, 2013 episode of RAW. Jeff Hardy and Edge hold the record for the most reigns with four reigns each. The shortest reign lasted 7 days as both Christian Cage and Drew McIntyre won the title and lost it a week later. Billy Cassidy currently holds the record for longest reign (as an individual) with 252 days. The record was previously held by Tyler Chandler who held it for 154 days.
