UWF Draft

The United Wrestling Federation (UWF) Draft, (formerly known as the UWF Draft Lottery) is a process used by said professional wrestling promotion to provide new brand competition and to refreshen its rosters. The Draft was first used during the brand extension of 2006, though it was officially incepted and used in 2006. Since the inception of the process, it has been referred to as the Draft Lottery (2006-2008) and the Draft (2009–present).

History

2006	Retribution Salvation	After acquiring American Wrestling Alliance (AWA) and Global Wrestling Alliance (GWA), the UWF split its roster into two distinctive wrestling brands, Retribution and Salvation. CCW Board of Directors announced that CCW co-owners Maximillion Pegasus and Jerry Seltzer would draft superstars to Retribution and Salvation respectively.
2007	Retribution Salvation	To remain active with the Armageddon tagline of "Where it all begins again", UWF Chairman Jerry Seltzer announced a draft lottery, as he stated it was time for a "new UWF" and "it's time to shake things up again". Each general manager received eleven picks and nine trades.
2008	Retribution Salvation TNA	Unlike previous draft lotteries which occurred on one night, this draft lottery took place over two days in June. Each general manager will select all available wrestlers, including General Managers, to have on their brand. On the second draft day, the General Managers have eight supplamental draft picks. In this draft, the World Championship, X-Division Champion, and the Tag Team Champions were drafted to Retribution while the TNA titles stayed the same.
2009	Betryal Deception Legacy	Acquiring all assets from Invasion, the United Wrestling Federation will merge from American Wrestling Alliance, Christian Championship Wrestling, Global Wrestling Alliance, National Wrestling Alliance, Total Nonstop Action, World Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling All-Stars, and World Wrestling Entertainment to form Betrayal, Deception, and Legacy.
2010	Betrayal Deception Explosion Legacy	This is the annual draft to shift talent around. This is the first time the 2008 Draft that a new brand was entered.
2011	Betrayal Deception Explosion Legacy	Will be airing in the Summer 2011 with a live 4 hour Betrayal show. Date is not scheduled but it will be broadcasted live from Washington, D.C.
2012 UWF Draft	Betrayal, Deception, Explosion, Legacy	It has been confirmed that there will be a 2012 Draft next year, but, the question was not answered when it will be taken place.

Impact on championships

Whether a champion keeps their championship after being drafted is unpredictable:

• During the 2008 Draft, the World Champion Viper was drafted from Salvation to Retribtion and kept his championship. General Manager Chae Baggio announced that a new Salvation! Championship was to be created but the idea was abandoned when the World Champion and the World Heavyweight Champion was unified on June 14, 2008 along side the World Tag Team Championship and the Tag Team Championships were also unified.
