History[]

In December 2011 Kane Mitchell founded Impact Sports, Inc months later he applied to copyrighted the name Total Impact Wrestling (TIW) in Janaury 2012 TIW bought the contracts of many Wrestler who were under contract with Ryder-Owens, Inc the company that owned the now defunct XWE.

Kane's vision for his promotion was starting to become possible when he hired Free Agent talent Cody Taylor, who had achieved popularity outside of wrestling, notably for his Time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Kane then signed James Shark who automatically clashed with the "Face of TIW" Cody Taylor, and shortly afterward signed Storming Raven who would align himself with Taylor. Other wrestlers soon made the jump to TIW, such as SM Raye, Tyson Reid, Kalvin Fletcher, Natalie Kane, The Fizz, Rafi Jax and Twin K.

On the night of T.I.W Pay Per View One Night Stand, Cody Taylor Made history by becoming the first Double Champion in TIW History when he won the TIW heavyweight and United States championship, This lead to friction in the locker room as Cody's ego trip had made him believe he was bigger than the promotion itself and demanded more Money from TIW or he would go somewhere else, Taylor was granted his request and was giving additional time off from the Promotion. During his time off he appeared on IWF(A Rival Promotion)Television with his TIW Gold, this lead to TIW Taking legal action against Taylor and IWF, eventually TIW lost it's television deal with USA Network. As the USA Network believed without TIW's biggest Stars (i.e James Shark, Cody Taylor both who had left the company and Ceaser Mendez who was forced to retire due to injuries), that TIW didn't have enough good talent to bring in high ratings.

TIW Had been in search of a new network for months before the fans where giving a glimmer of hope when TIW's Twitter account posted "#ComebackSeason" this lead to the promotion trending Number one worldwide on the social networking site for almost 48 Hours, It was a while longer before anyone had any other updates Until December 11th when the next tweet was posted "1.1.13 mark it in your diary something is about to change #RewritingHistory" this lead to a open press conference days later by Kane Mitchell announcing TIW Had secured a huge new network deal with HBO and they were expecting to air their first show on January 1st but once again Plans were changed and they aired a special live Boxing Day Edition on Rebellion, which lead the return of many former TIW talent.
