The Gang Stars are a comedic professional e-wrestling faction consisting of Steve Storme and his protégés Krash and Alyster Black. Together, they competed in OWW Takedown and achieved considerable success. After a brief hiatas as a team, Krash and Alyster Black started teaming again with the Gang Star name in Clique Wrestling Alliance.
History[]
Steve Storme and Alyster Black had been rivals in CGS with Steve facing and defeating him four times. But their last encounter to date, a Deathmatch, was close and Alyster finally managed to earn Storme's respect. Black left CGS shortly after and joined Takedown Wrestling where he started chasing the Challenge Championship. When Storme and his on/off tag team partner Dash Blade left CGS in late December and inked contracts with Takedown, they decided to form an alliance with Alyster.
In an interview with Takedown's Ella Perez, Storme spoke briefly about the team name but didn't actually state what 'Gang Star' means: "Gang star is different to gangsta or gangster. You can be from any set and still be gang star. It just means a gang of true stars."
OWW Takedown[]
At Takedown's "Fight for Glory" on January the 17th 2010, Alyster Black defeated Cesar Pineda to earn a Challenge Title shot later in the night against Jarek Synkaid. The Takedown Tag Team Champions Jack Storm and Joey Kendrick lost their belts to The Crazy Connection, AJ Tornado and Krash. After this match, Dash Blade and Steve Storme came out to mass applause and then beat down both teams. Black ran down to the ring, with the crowd thinking he would make the save, but instead he bro-hugged with the invaders. Steve then took a mic and announced The Gang Stars' plans: titles. Alyster would go on to win his Challenge Title match.
At the following Takedown show "End of Days", Alyster Black defeated long-time rival Jarek Synkaid in an MMA match to defend his Challenge Title. Meanwhile, Steve Storme defeated Joey Kendrick and AJ Storm in a triple threat but there was no clean-sweep for The Gang Stars as Dash Blade's triple threat match was won by Krash. Following the event, Dash Blade left Takedown with Storme stating demotivation as the main reason for Dash's departure from the ring.
A Tag Team Title match between The Gang Stars and The Crazy Connection was scheduled for April but Storme's partner remained a mystery. There was speculation that he would be teaming with Ghost or even Josh Majesty but Storme himself confirmed nothing. On the night of the show, "No Turning Back", Steve wrestled both members for most of the match until Krash turned on AJ Tornado, revealing himself as Steve's mystery partner and getting the pinall to make The Gang Stars Takedown Tag Team Champions. On the same card, Alyster Black dropped the Challenge Title to his rival Cesar Pineda in a hard-fought contest.
Clique Wrestling Alliance[]
In May of 2011 Alyster Black and Krash reuinited as a team under the Gang Star name in CWA. The pair were drafted to the Adrenaline Brand where they entered a round robin tournament to name the number 1 contenders to the CWA Tag Team titles. Black and Krash went undefeated in the tournament defeating Misery and Rich & Famous in two straight matches then both teams in a three way elimination match at the PPV Unbreakable.
Associates[]
Ghost[]
Ghost grew up in Oakland, California where he sold drugs to make cash in his teenage years. He decided to earn more money through wrestling and even managed to win the CGS Continental Title but was fired the next week for drugs charges. After this, he returned to the streets but still appears from time to time with the Gang Stars in promos.
Mint Fresh[]
Mint Fresh was a Queensbridge-based pimp. He briefly managed the group in Takedown and became infamous for his pimp slap with baby powder. Tragically, he was announced dead in late 2010 and the cause of death remains unknown.
