The Experts is commonly known as one of the biggest e-wrestling interfederation communities and wrestling leagues which began in 1999 created by Snake and Bat-Mero. Having undergone many changes and on and off operations, the sole purpose of the entire organization was to bring a unity among federations. The interfederation plays host to tournaments organizing interfederation matches with competitors fighting to be at the top on the world ranking system and to contend in the most interactive experience known as The Experts Extreme Tournament. The Experts merged with E-Fed Knights in 2010.
History[]
The Experts was originally created in 1999 by Snake and Bat-Mero/Lodi as one of the first Interfederations and e-wrestling communities, dating back to times before places like Primetime Central came around by 2001. Back then, things were much more simple. It was hosted on an Angelfire site with a single message board entitled "The Bitchin Board", and weekly awards, though in reality, they were only given out monthly at best. There were also interfederation shows which drew in all of the big names at the time.
By 2000, Jesse Gunn joined one of the affiliated federations of The Experts known as XCW. The Experts held its first tournament ran by Gunn called The Experts Extreme Tournament 2000, which was met with interactive success with the first True Expert rewarded to Smitty. Soon, The Experts goes through a split due to political and directional differences between some of the staff and visitors. Two new sites were created to remedy the issue that were eFed-ratings.com & eWrestling Domain.
In 2001, efed-ratings.com closed and its owner Snake transfers his duties in helping eWrestling Domain. As a form of unity, the name is changed to eFed Ratings Domain. Jesse Gunn began building his standing at The Experts, eventually becoming co-owner of their third generation, eFed Ratings Domain with Snake. But six months after the merger, the site closed down.
Continuing a downfall spiral in the e-wrestling community, The Experts apparently shut down indefinitely in 2002 while another interfederation that was operating known as Fedwars had closed as well and Primetime Central dominated for about five years, before eventually closing. Roughkut was also on the rise during such time and several other rather small-scale interfeds surfaced.
The Experts made its return in the summer of 2007 under the management of Jesse Gunn, starting out with just four federations in WAW, ECFW, GCW and Rebel-Pro. The Experts progressed with a eager drive to become a topflight establishment by committing to supporting sponsored federations, and by that, predominantly the top quality federations that have proven themselves as a superior so that in turn, they selected The Experts as their home. However, it is also noteworthy that The Experts offered support for new, younger and primitive federations as well.
The Experts announced The Experts Invitational 2007 to reintroduce the title of True Expert and during the event, The Crimson Shadow defeated five "legends" to become the first and new True Expert since title's return.
In 2008, The Experts united with E-Fed Knights of The Roundtable, the online podcast. That same year, The Extreme Tournament 2008 sets records as an stunning success. Level One outlasted 60 other wrestlers, including the champion Black Death, to become the new True Expert and the rightful holder of Dragon's Blade.
In 2009, Jesse Gunn, for health and personal-life reasons, stepped down as administrator of The Experts leaving Russ to take the reins. The Extreme Tournament 2009 attracts a staggering 64 people for the main part, and sees over 150 roleplays throughout it, overall being rated an 8.7/10 by fans and competitors alike.
In 2010, The Experts, E-fed Knights and Championship Wrestling Council form an e-wrestling tri-brand as VWF owner and Experts global moderator, Triple B, took over the reigns of the CWC. Immediately plans were put into motion for a big CWC vs. Experts event called, On Hallowed Ground. The Invitational V that year it was announced that the Experts will be debuting True Expert Tag Team Championships in a spring tournament.
On Hallowed Ground proves to be a MAJOR success, drawing over 50 people from both communities and debuting solely-audio results. All members of the production team (Russ of Experts, Ian Monks of TFWF and EFK, Triple B of CWC and VWF and T-Bone of CWC) are highly praised for the event. It is described as 'making e-fedding history' with many wrestlers/members proudly displaying 'On Hallowed Ground - I was there' userbars to commemorate it.
The decision is made to merge the Experts onto the EFK forums, shutting down The Experts' OOC capacity. The Experts continues to run events through its site, but all history and information and discussion is kept on the E-Fed Knights forum.
The Extreme Tournament 2010: Siberia proves to be the biggest of hits, attracting 97 roleplays from all across efedding to compete in the biggest Experts event in history. Ultimately won by Sandy Makel, the tournament kayfabe emanated from the Siberian Facility, utilizing a whole new level of creativity for the roleplays. The event went on to win "Event of the Year 2010" from EFed Knights.
In 2011, after almost a year-long hiatus the Experts returned in style with the Extreme Tournament 2011.
Today, The Experts averages 10-12 federations in their network, spanning over thirty years of activity. The community has grown strong, with great members from all across the ewrestling communities. They are the first to pull off a large-scale accurate rankings system, cataloging over 500 wrestlers to form a top 20 that is updated almost instantly after a show. The Experts also have four interfederation shows per year.
