The Empire of Blood is a stable currently active in Global Extreme Wrestling, Phoenix Wrestling Enterprise and the Championship Wrestling Council. It was founded in GEW by Sah'ta Thor in early 2008, initially consisting of Thor and Troy Gafgen, who feuded with The Damned (Glenn Legend, Rhys Matterson and Bailey Callahan) over the GEW Extreme Chaos Championship and the GEW Tag Team Championship. Thor and Gafgen were soon joined by Velvet Grey and James Magnum, although the latter would later leave when he began feuding with Kameron Chase, while Gafgen would turn on Thor during a tag team championship match against Legend and Matterson. They were replaced by GEW International Champion BaY-B Dogg, who brought the Empire its first gold. Zanatos was also a later member, as was Devin Rhys during almost his entire GEW tenure. In December 2008 a feud between Dogg and Mark Chapman over the Extreme Chaos Championship escalated to take in their respective tag-team partners, perennial enemies Thor and Gafgen. Dogg and Thor became #1 contenders to Chapman and Gafgen's tag team championship when Chapman interfered in a #1 contenders match between the Empire of Blood and the team of Shane Tallin and James Airington. On the final episode of Chaos before Extreme Extravganza, the two teams faced off in a title match. Thor pinned Gafgen following a Reign of Blood from the top rope and an Arterial Splash from Dogg, making The Empire the new champions. At the pay-per-view, Baby Dogg defeated GEW World Heavyweight Champion Magnum to bring the promotion's top title into the Empire of Blood for the first time. At the following GEW PPV, Dogg retained her title against Magnum while Thor defeated Tallin for the latter's GEW International Championship, making them both double champions. In the interim a series of new faces joined the stable including Championship Wrestling Federation alumni Scott "Reaper" Walker and Cammy Carnage, and Deacon Vail. Vail was successful in 2009's Commonwealth Cup tournament, reaching the final match which was ultimately won by longtime enemy of the Empire, Mark Chapman. Meanwhile, the Empire of Blood also made their presence felt in PWE and CWC, revealing their intentions to be a dominant force across all three companies. Former PWE Elite Champions Matt "The Gift" Hughes and Jason Carpenter revealed themselves as allies to Thor over successive weeks with PWE while Thor, Dogg, Reaper and Carnage appeared together on CWC Wrestling V bringing the Empire to that company and offering membership, which both Bryan Deas and T-Bone took up. That night Dogg won an eight-person hardcore battle royale to become inaugural CWC Hardcore Champion, making either Dogg or Thor titleholders in all three organizations.

In late October 2009 the wrestling aspect of the Empire of Blood reorganized and has begun a stricter recruitment process focusing on committed under appreciated talents to fill its ranks. The new policy was revealed on November 20, 2009 in a Pro Wrestling X promo cut by the debuting Sah'ta Thor. This new policy will help bring the Empire of Blood to the fore front of professional wrestling as big changes are in store for the group and its members.
