The Driveby Express were a heel tag team that consisted of James Baker and Phillip Mustang where they competed in Elite Class Championship Wrestling where they were 3 time ECCW World Tag Team Champions. There was also another heel incarnaton of The Driveby Express that competed in WrestleZone Championship Wrestling and that team consisted of Baker and Kyle Christiansen.
Elite Class Championship Wrestling[]
James Baker and Phillip Mustang were in a rivalry over the ECCW World Heayvweight Championship when they teamed up for the first time as they went up against Kevin and Efran Ortiz for the ECCW World Tag Team Championships. Baker and Mustang won the titles after Baker hit Efran Ortiz with Da Xtreme Knockout to not only win the teams first tag team championships, but in the process making Baker a double champion.
A few weeks later, Baker and Mustang lost the titles back to Kevin and Efran Ortiz after Mustang accidentally hit Baker with a clothesline. The following week Mustang challenged Baker for the ECCW World Heayvweight Championship and defeated him to begin his first reign as champion. Baker then turned heel after the matchup by attacking Mustang from behind and eventually laying him out with a Brainbuster onto the Steel Steps and breaking up the team.
After a long feud with each other, Baker and Mustang reunited their tag team by beating down Baker's old Xtreme Dynasty teammates J.T. Banks and Kevin Styles which made Mustang turn into a heel for the first time in his career and the team was now referred to as The Driveby Express.
The Driveby Express won 2 more ECCW Tag Team Championships by defeating Styles and Banks both times. Once ECCW went out of business, Baker and Mustang were once again split up and had to vacate the ECCW World Tag Team Championship.
WrestleZone Championship Wrestling[]
On Meltdown 19, Baker formed a tag team with "The One and Only" Kyle Christiansen to recreate The Driveby Express and later that night they went on to defeat Garth Black and Phoenix when Christiansen hit Phoenix with The One and Only for the victory. At MD20, Baker and Christiansen then faced off against USA and Anoki, but Baker and Christiansen were defeated when Anoki pinned Christiansen following the Eagle Drive. At WZCW pay per view Unscripted, Baker and Christiansen then competed in a 5 way tag team match for an opportunity at the then vacant WZCW World Tag Team Championship, but Baker and Christiansen barely came close when Ace pins David Cougar to give The Full House Daves the victory and the titles. On MD22, Baker and Christiansen faced TM and David Cougar, but unfortunately Baker and Christiansen lost after Cougar made Baker tap out to the Texas Cloverleaf. On MD23, Baker and Christian again faced the tag team of Garth Black and Phoenix, but Baker and Christiansen were defeated when Garth Black pinned an injured Christiansen for the victory. With Christiansen's unfortunate injury, Baker was then forced to go back into singles competition. On the first edition of WZCW Ascension, Baker reformed his team with Kyle Christiansen and faced the tag team of Garth Black and Phoenix, but the reformed team lost after Baker had his ankle shattered in storyline and Malik Jones was locked in the Black Death and the second version of The Driveby Express was broken up. (in reality Baker asked for his released from WZCW and that request was granted & Malik Jones also left with him).
Ever since the disbanding fo the team, Baker has went on the record in multiple promos that Christiansen was nothing more than a worthless pawn who intentionally held him back from success. He also stated that the legacy of The Driveby Express somewhat has a stain on it due to how horrible Christiansen is.
