The Crowe's Nest is a professional wrestling stable performing in EAW, composed of Chelsea Crowe, Jael Arcana-Rosario, Braxton DeVil, and Raven Roberts. They compete on EAW's Empire brand. Crowe is currently in her first reign as EAW Specialists Champion, while Rosario and Roberts currently hold the EAW Empire Tag Team Championships in their first reign.
Concept[]
The original purpose of the team was as a loose association of allies started by Crowe to counteract an existing opposing stable on Empire known as the Axis. Prior to her championship pursuits, Crowe was involved in an angle with Sheridan Müller, the leader of the Axis. However, after Tarah Nova assaulted Müller prior to her match at King of Elite, the storyline was quickly scrapped. Following this, former Axis members Azumi Goto and Zakkii were repackaged and returned to singles competition on Empire.
History[]
Formation and early feuds (2017–2018)[]
On December 7, 2017, Crowe and Song were part of a Fatal 4-Way match at Bloodletter for the EAW Specialists Championship. The reigning champion, Consuela Rose Ava would win the match via pinfall on Mallory Wilde. On the December 14 episode of Empire, Crowe and Song were made to team up with each other, and they defeated the team of Sydney St. Clair and Andrea Valentine. Impressed with April's cooperation, Crowe offered her alliance, which Song would then accept. On the January 18, 2018 episode of Empire, the team of Crowe and Song defeated the team of Wilde and Daisy Thrash.
On the January 25 episode of Empire, Crowe would announce Flannery McCoy's decision of a title match between her and Aria Jaxon at the Iconic Cup event. Rosario defeated Nicolette Lyons in a singles match. Later that night, Rosario was approached by Chelsea Crowe and April Song to form an alliance; she accepted the offer. The team of Crowe and Song were set to face the team of Stephanie Matsuda and Tarah Nova, however, the match never started due to an ambush on the opposing team. On the February 8 episode of Empire, Crowe would announce her new stable, now known as the "Crowe's Nest". Later that night, Rosario and Crowe defeated the team of Andrea Valentine and Nicole Fyre.
On March 1 at the Iconic Cup, all three members of the Crowe's Nest lost their respective matches. At the following episode of Empire on March 8, Crowe cemented her position as a heel after rejecting Empire's supposed standards and berated her fellow Crowe's Nest members, reminding them of the opportunities she had given them and calling on them to fight harder for her respect. This would signal a strengthening of the stable, as both Rosario and Song would attack their opponents following their losses against Savannah Sunshine and Megan Raine respectively.
On March 20, EAW released a list of active participants for the Specialists Rampage. Among the participants were Crowe and Rosario. On the March 22 episode of Empire, the team of Rosario and Crowe defeated the team of Andrea Valentine and Sakuya Goto with the aide of Braxton DeVil. Later that night, the Crowe's Nest would attack Aria Jaxon prior to a Champion versus Champion match against Megan Raine. Following the events on Empire, EAW released a statement saying that the Crowe's Nest were suspended from the following Empire live event and were fined for their actions. It was also announced that, with Jaxon injured, she'd relinquish the Women's World Championship, and that Song and Consuela Rose Ava would compete for the vacant championship at Grand Rampage.
All champions (2018)[]
At Grand Rampage on March 31, both Crowe and Rosario entered the 20-woman Specialist Rampage match, with Crowe being the last woman standing and winning the Specialists Championship. On the same night, Song was unsuccessful in winning the Women's World title when Stephanie Matsuda cashed in her Iconic Cup opportunity mid-match, submitting Song to become the new champion. On the April 5 episode of Empire, a coronation ceremony was held for Matsuda, where she would later be interrupted by the members of the Crowe's Nest. Song claimed Matsuda stole her title opportunity, to which Matsuda responded by saying Song lost her chance at Grand Rampage, and that she would be facing the returning Empress of Elite Madison Kaline at Terminus. On the April 12 episode of Empire, Crowe successfully defended her title against Payton Darkstar. Later, it was announced that she would be defending against Revy at Terminus, with Revy choosing the stipulation of a Texas bullrope match. In the main event, Stephanie Matsuda would make her first defense as Women's World Champion against Rosario. Following the match, Crowe and Song came to the aide of Rosario. On the April 19 episode of Empire, the team of Rosario and Song defeated the team of Andrea Valentine and "Rad" Riley McCray.
On May 3 at Terminus, Crowe defeated Revy to retain the Specialists Championship with assistance from Braxton DeVil. In the main event, Song and Rosario defeated the Goto Sisters, Andrea Valentine and Consuela Rose Ava, and the Jaded Hearts to become the inaugural EAW Empire Tag Team Champions in a Four Corners tag team match. Crowe and DeVil then appeared at the end of the show with Rosario and Song, with Crowe celebrating her defense and their Empire Tag Team Championship victory. On the May 10 episode of Empire, the team cut a heel promo on the crowd, stating that they were "EAW's greatest stable". Crowe would announce that, instead of holding a championship celebration, the team would "take things to the next level", and the following episode of Empire would be hosted by the Crowe's Nest.
On the May 17 episode of Empire, Rosario and Song were defeated by the team of Raven Roberts and Remi Skyfire. Prior to the match, Flannery McCoy announced that if Roberts and Skyfire successfully defeated the Crowe's Nest, they will enter a #1 contenders match for the Tag Team Championships against Jaded Hearts next week. Later that night, Azumi Goto was found attacked backstage, with the Crowe's Nest being under suspicion for the attack. The main event saw Crowe successfully defend her Specialists Championship against Madison Kaline. On the May 24 episode of Empire, Song was attacked by Stephanie Matsuda and Zakkii as a measure of revenge for supposedly attacking Goto. Rosario and Crowe never came to the aide of Song. Later in the night, Roberts and Skyfire faced the Jaded Hearts to determine which team would face the Crowe's Nest at Pain for Pride. At the climax of the match, the Crowe's Nest appeared at ringside. Roberts would then turn on Skyfire and allowed Kassidy Heart to pin Skyfire for the win, joining the Crowe's Nest and turning heel in the process. Following the match, Matsuda and Zakkii called out the Crowe's Nest, believing that they had something to do with the attack on Goto. Returning Hall of Famer Kendra Shamez made an appearance, allowing the Jaded Hearts and the Crowe's Nest to ambush Skyfire, Zakkii, and Matsuda from behind. On May 31, Crowe defeated Zakkii in a non-title match. Following the match, DeVil was attacked backstage by Remi Skyfire. On the June 7 episode of Empire, Rosario defeated Daisy Thrash with Crowe present at ringside. In the main event of the night, Roberts defeated Skyfire in a no-disqualification match via submission.
