Terence Roman Jackson (born February 17, 1979) is a retired American professional wrestler and currently a disc jockey for a sports radio station in Southern California. Jackson wrestled for various promotions but is mostly known for his stint with Total Non-stop Action Wrestling. He also made sporadic appearances elsewhere including All Magnitude X Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling.
Early life[]
Jackson was born in Compton, California as the eldest of three children to Roman and Juanita Jackson (née Carter). Jackson's paternal grandparents are Martin and Celeste Jackson (née Rose) while his maternal grandparents are Allan and Georgia Carter (née Bryant).
Jackson attended Dominguez High School where lettered in basketball and wrestling. During his senior year, Jackson played alongside future NBA players such as Tayshaun Prince and Tyson Chandler who were juniors and freshman at the time, respectively. Jackson also had found wrestling to be his niche after accumulating numerous victories and winning multiple tournaments held throughout the state of California. Jackson would go onto accepting a basketball scholarship to attend Cal State Dominguez Hills after bypassing wrestling scholarships that would have forced Jackson to attend college outside the state. Jackson claimed to have wanting to stay close to home even if it meant that he would forgo the opportunity to wrestle in a more prestigious university participating in a prominent division in collegiate athletics. After graduating with a bachelors degree in communications, Jackson ultimately transferred to UCLA where he received a masters degree in film and television.
Wrestling career[]
Jackson attended the Richards Wrestling Academy where he was trained by Frank Richards in 2005 before making his debut as T-Jay the following year in Total Non-stop Action Wrestling with fellow wrestler and best friend Triple X. The duo would go onto forming a stable called the Wolfpac with several other members of the roster which included Sting as its leader. Meanwhile, the group would be divided after the company's brand extension, thus having the trio T-Jay, Sting, and Triple X form their own group after they were the only members of Wolfpac to be drafted onto Impact. The three guys formed Triple Threat where T-Jay would go onto win the TNA European Championship, becoming its inaugural titleholder on April 21. During his title reign, Jackson tore his anterior cruciate ligament and eventually relinquished the championship before ultimately leaving the company while nursing his injury. A year later after rehabilitation, Jackson returned to the ring by making an appearance in All Magnitude X Wrestling, participating in a tag team match with NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones. The two would gain a victory before being attacked by Demon, who performed a chokeslam to Jones through an announcers table. This would be the final match of Jackson's career before he made his retirement a month later.
Personal life[]
Jackson currently lives in Long Beach, California with his family. He also hosts his own local radio talk show in Long Beach on Tuesday nights where he discusses events that had happened during the prior weekend along with talking about professional wrestling and games from other sports leagues.
His best friend is Benjamin Jameson, whom Jackson had met while attending UCLA. Jameson was Jackson's best man at his wedding. Jackson considers Frank Richards as a father figure and mentor as Richards was once Jackson's trainer while attending the Richards Wrestling Academy.
