Saturday Night Rapture (formerly Thursday Night Rapture) was the flagship show for Premium Championship Wrestling that aired in the United States and Canada on the Premium Television Network while in Europe, it aired on the Bravo Network. PCW held their episodes of Rapture all around the world and it is a live broadcast. The show's final opening theme was "Sick of It" by Skillet which it's usage began on May 11th, 2013. The previous ones were "Slim Pickens Does The Right Thing and Rides The Bomb To Hell" by The Offspring and "Epic" by Faith No More. The first ever theme was "Rapture" by Hurt which was used from PCW's inception in late July 2010 until the final episode of the first run. In the first run, the show aired weekly. But in the second run of PCW, it aired every two weeks.
Show History[]
The Thursday Night Era on Versus: July 29th, 2010 - August 19th, 2010[]
For weeks before PCW formed. Shannon Saint began brewing a backstage plan to take the company over. In the short span of a month, Shannon started purchasing the contracts of many YCW and ICW wrestlers, offering salaries higher than the ones they were getting and better conditions. It all came to a head when Battle Finale came around and after firing Eric Redgate, Shannon announced the formation of Premium Championship Wrestling after buying out both YouTube Championship Wrestling and Inferno Championship Wrestling. A few days after the final YCW event, Saint announced at a press conference that PCW's weekly show was going to be called Rapture.
The first show was held on July 29, 2010 and it gained the highest ratings Versus ever had. A load of younger talent and veterans appeared on the show. however, their run on Versus was short lived as Versus executives wanted PCW programming to go to a PG like format. Every superstar voiced their displeasure with that request and from there, both Shannon Saint and newly appointed Authority Manager Terry Richards flat out refused Versus' request and accepted a lucrative contract to go to the Showtime network, as well as a move to Saturday Nights. The average rating they achieved on the Versus Network was a 3.6.
The Move to Saturday Nights and move to the Showtime and My Wrestling Network: September 4th, 2010 - April 29th, 2011[]
The move to Saturday Nights occurred when they held their show on September 4, 2010. From there, they continued to achieve high ratings while using their TV-MA rating even more than they previously were. The average rating they have achieved so far on the Showtime network has been a 4.3. Higher than they achieved during their time on the Versus Network and that includes their current time with ever more famous Youth Movement PCW employed after Alma Mater Diem.
The PCW Network Era: April 30th, 2011 - June 26th, 2012[]
After a heated situation between PCW, Showtime and MyWrestling Network, PCW formed its own network. For promos it's called the Premium Television Network, but for the shows, it's called PCW TV (later changed to PTN when original programming as well as non-wrestling programming were added to the show lineup). Rapture and the newly formed Knockout show would broadcast on the channel. The first episode of Knockout getting a 3.4. Successful ratings for the show. Rapture XXIX got a 3.5 rating. The next week, Rapture got another 3.5 rating while Knockout also got the same rating. The show came to an end on June 18, 2011 with a 3.9 rating.
The Revival Era: April 27th, 2012 - Present[]
With the return of PCW, the company has decided to have Rapture continue to be its number one show and air on the Premium Television Network. The first episode under the Revial Era aired on May 12, 2012. In our main event, Michael Morrison defeated Draven Logan Kennedy in a Champion versus Champion match up. The episode was well received by fans and was deemed that PCW is back and back strong!
