Family[]

Home Background[]

Samuel is brother to John “Pheonix” Hessingstock, and is once again a major part of the OUW. His homelife went through tough patches, his family being split at the age of 12, and being forced to live with a father he hated. His father detested the thought of Samuel being a pro-wrestler, but despite this, he worked on, and finally became what he dreamed, despite his fathers death. He finally made it to OUW in 2002, Left the company in 2008 and went onto Ultimate Championship Wrestling from there. He currently works within Simcoe County Championship Wrestling.

Prior to One Up Wrestling[]

Scorpion wrestled for one major wrestling company before OUW, and was fired on the night of winning the main title.

Scorpion also represents the OUW in an inter-federation promotion named Pure Honor Wrestling.

One Up Wrestling[]

Samuel was brought into the OUW, just after the first Elimination Chamber. From here, he issued a challenge to Crow, looking for the OUW IC championship. A number 1 contender ladder match would ensue, but Crow would be claimed as winner at the end of the match.

From here, Scorpion went on to play in the Turmoil Tag match, which he didn't win, but it did secure him placings for the IC title at a later date.

During Gamr's rush to gold tournament, Scorpion also fell short of the US title, but did very well in the run up, leading to Newage walking away with the title.

Scorpion then participated in many IC title matches, many including Psyclone and DG, but fell short on each occasion, but then came a huge turnaround.

Taking an opportunity, with Prophet as the uWa Hardcore Champion, Scorpion challenged him, playing games with Prophet, however Avenger added himself to the match. This didn't affect Scorpion however, and so Scorpion went on to claim his first title, the uWa Hardcore title.

The Mountain Match at Ascention was next for Scorpion. This was to be the turning point in his career, as he came runner-up to none other than Coz, and eliminated the champion himself, Gamr. This was to be the point where Scorpion challenged Gamr for the title, and so at Eleventh Hour it happened, Scorpion v Dylan "Gamr" Scott.

This however wouldn't turn out well for Scorpion, as he watched Rachel, his wife screw him from the title. From here, Scorpion would seemingly kill his wife, and in a RTA, she would plunge from London Bridge...however, all was not as it seems.

Rachel survived her ordeals, as did Samuel, however, this upset lead to a Sunday Night Storm, where new man, Hunter took the title from Scorpion. Scorpion then challenged again at the Paramount, which lead to a tie...and then finally, Hunter gave in, to join the NCW, which is when Scorpion regained his title.

Again though, Scorpion would lose this title, and this time his loss was to Crow in a 2nd big Ladder match. This then lead to Revolution 2006, where Sonic was set to defend his IC title, in a hell on earth structure, the Elimination Chamber, the 2nd one for OUW. Scorpion, early into the match, managed to eliminate the champ, and Calypso soon followed, as X eliminated him...but then as Calypso went to leave the chamber, Scorpion received a low blow, taking him out, and X would only need to XKO him to pick up the elimination. From here, Crow would win the match, and Scorpion would challenge Crow...to a one of a kind match at Syndication 2006, a Reverse ladder match. Scorpion won this match, and became IC champion, which he remained until his death.

However, he would defend it past his biggest demon to date, Calypso, who proceeded to torture Scorpions "thought to be dead" wife, Rachel. Playing head games with Scorpion was the first step, before showing Scorpion exactly what was going on, this would spur Scorpion on to win a match that could only be known as a "Damsel in Distress" match, where a chamber, containing Rachel would need to be opened by Scorpion for her safety and his win to be ensured. During the match, a continuation of Sonic v Dylan "Gamr" Scott continued, and both men aided each other to victory, forming OUW's short lived Faction, CardYnal sYn.

Shortly after this, the OUW was forced into a hiatus for a short while. Scorpion would also meet his end, at the hands of a truck, due to a letter sent from Scorpions brother. This would be the end, and the death of a showman in OUW...or would it?

Fast forward one month, August 20, where Pheonix, Scorpions brother stands tall above Arthur Adams AND Rachel Watts, Scorpions wife. Following this, the night after, Scorpion makes a shock return to the OUW, with one goal in mind...to take out his brother...

Scorpion and Pheonix battled for a span of 2 months, leaving devastation and Blood wherever they went. In their first match, a Triple Chance match-up, Scorpion took the OUW Intercontinental Championship from his brother after an outright brawl. However, this wasn't enough for Scorpion. Scorpion wanted to "Excise the cancer" from the OUW, and so focused now on destroying the career of his brother.

However, this was short lived after Crow took the title from Scorpion. Scorpion was ambushed by the returning Calypso, who was added to the huge feud. Scorpion was driven to madness, and irrational matches began to happen, including a handicap 2-on-1 FTR match, which Dylan "Gamr" Scott added the FTR ruling as well as a rule stating Scorpion could not use any finishers on risk of being fired. Scorpion overcame this still, and managed to pin Pheonix.

We then reach Malevolence where Scorpion, Calypso and Pheonix battled in an amazing match, a Triple threat buried alive match. The three battled a bloody, brutal brawl, but it would be Rachel that would save the day, pushing Pheonix into the grave. The two celebrated as Scorpion pushed the dirt over Pheonix, making Scorpion the winner of one of the bloodiest matches the OUW has ever seen.

Conversion is now set for Samuel as he faces one of his self-proclaimed idols. After defeating Plat at the season premier of OUW Storm, which moved from Sunday to Monday, Scorpion became the #1 contender to the OUW United States Championship, a title which he has yet to add to his résumé.

After a long battle with Coz, Scorpion would find himself almost beaten, but as if from nowhere, Gamr appeared in the match, costing Coz the win by using Coz's own United States Championship against him. Scorpion is now currently the United States Champion of One Up Wrestling, and has begun one of the biggest winning streaks in history, so far only superseeded by Plat's impressive 14 win record.

Turmoil was up next for Scorpion, however to get into the main event of Turmoil Tag, the main event, Scorpion would have to face RLD in a one-on-one FTR match. His change of focus made him incredibly focused in this match, and after taking his signature chisel to the head of RLD, Scorpion found himself in the main event, working for Team Gamr. However, during the match, Scorpion would leave the match, backing away from Team Gamr as Gamr gave the order to get into the ring. The crowd changed their mind instantly, and Scorpion was found to be "not as bad" as he made out to be.

During a backstage interview for the OUW Website, Scorpion revealed his intentions, and then went on to receive punishment from Gamr in the shape of RLD, and a hardcore submission match at Retribution.

After losing the United States Championship to Robert L Davis at Retribution, Scorpion spent the month building up a new name for himself in the tag team division, with his new partner Stephen Steele. The two dominated their first tag outing against RLD in a handicap match, and they only continued to shine amongst the rest of the wrestlers.

Ascention 2007 was the next big step for Scorpion in his career. During a heated month of forging small hints at just about everyone on the roster, Scorpion showed just what he was ready to do during the spectacular PPV. The PPV for him would be the biggest thing he had been a part of in some time, in more ways than just one. Scorpion joined the flagship match of Ascention, The Mountain at number 12, and would eliminate 3 stars, including X, in order to win the Mountain 2007.

However, X would be his challenger at Eleventh Hour, after X attacked his wife, locking her in the XKOIII. Scorpion would be forced to put his Mountain winnings on the line, and would lose them in a huge Tokyo Street Brawl, a fight that would explode into the streets of Tokyo, even as far as monumental areas!

After the match, the following Storm would see X making his choice of the Main Event of Paramount, OUW's biggest annual PPV. During the choice, Scorpion would reveal a punishment set by Rachel Watts for the attack, the punishment that Scorpion would be added to whatever match X had chosen. X had made it clear he wanted Sonic in a one on one contest for the OUW title, and so a triple threat was made for the title, Sonic as Champion would face X and Scorpion.

After a long and arguous match, Scorpion found himself triumphant, after pinning Sonic in the triple threat at Paramount. He had done it, become the top dog of OUW. But this would be instantly challenged by a new challenger in Ethan Starr. Ethan took Scorpion to the limits in a match at Regression, but still, Ethan couldn't take the title.

But everything Scorpion had would soon fall before his eyes. His wife fell to Ethan's charm, and on the May 7th edition of Monday Night Storm, his OUW Championship would also fall into Ethans hands after Ethan locked in the Starrstruck for a 2nd time in the night, causing Scorpion to tap out.

Massacre saw an upset for Samuel Hessinstock though. An FTR match with Ethan Starr saw Scorpion incapacitated, and unable to wrestle for the minimum of 5 weeks. Sam however returned 1 week earlier than that, vowing revenge will be got against Ethan Starr.

On the June 25th edition of Monday Night Storm, Sam defeated Terry G Pierce and Gamr to become #1 contender to the OUW championship. It was at Syndication that Samuel Hessingstock would fulfill his destiny and become OUW champion for the 2nd time in his career, after defeating Ethan Starr in a Reverse Ladder Match.

However, the fun part of Sam's career was coming to an end. Next would be his hardest challenge yet, the onimous Gamr once again would face Samuel Hessingstock. At Aftermath, after Gamr attacked Sam's half-sister, Kym Hessingstock, leaving her heavily hospitalized, the two will go head to head in one of the most dangerous matches in history. The Intercontinental Champion, Gamr, will face the OUW champion, Samuel Hessingstock in a Winner Takes All Barbed Wire Last Man Standing Match.

Gamr was the man who took all in this brutal match, leaving a bloodied Samuel Hessingstock for dead. It would be 2 months before Samuel returned again, right as the run up toward Turmoil had begun, mysterious messages began playing through the OUW. OUW General Manager, Alexander Kraven demanded that we found out exactly who it was, for Samuel to reveal himself.

After leading his team to victory at Turmoil 2007, he would face those same team mates for #1 contendership to the OUW championship. That match was won by Ben Stevens, much to the disdain of Scorpion, who vowed that he would gain back the title. However, instead of pursuing Ben, he turns his attention to someone else. Micheal King.

After aligning himself with Alexander Kraven, Samuel Hessingstock made it very clear that King would not get away, and Sam would "kill" his career. It was the following week that King's brother, Micheal Sweet returned, and bloodied Samuel, sparking off a momentus feud between the two which ended at Retribution 2007, where despite being hospitalized, Bigg Daddy Sweet returned, only to be put to sleep again by Samuel Hessingstock. Samuel then turned his attention to the tag scene, where Micheal King opposed him along with the current OUW tag champions, Ben Stevens and Ethan Starr.

On January 29, 2008, Samuel and Dylan Scott were declared dead on the scene of a horrific plane crash outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. Sam is survived by his wife, Rachel Watts, and his half sister, Kym Hessingstock.

Dynasty Wrestling[]

During the second year of Scorpion's OUW career, he signed an open contract with his wife as General Manager, stating that he can freely go to any show that he desires. It was after this, that the manager of Dynasty Wrestling Alliance, Chaz Murphy got in contact with him. After negotiations, Scorpion decided to join the DWA, and in his first match on Saturday 24 February working for the show, he captured the DWA Alpha Title after winning a 4 man battle royale for the championship against the current champion, Oi Boy, Phreak and Steve Awesome.

Soon after, the show closed due to a lack of active superstars, and Scorpion retired from DWA as Alpha Champion.

Alpha Omega Wrestling[]

After the closing of DWA, Scorpion would find himself offered by another manager, for a show called AOW. After thinking about it, and rumors had spread across the federation, it was confirmed. On AOW's opening show, Scorpion was sighted backstage, but has not yet wrestled live there. After then having issues with the layout of AOW, Scorpion left, having only lasted a cameo role.

International Championship Wrestling Alliance[]

Soon after Sam's departure from AOW, he began to look for another federation to join. Eventually he found ICWA, a professional wrestling federation based in a similar way to OUW. Soon after applying, he was put into a match against another new addition to the ICWA roster, Scott Angel. This was Sam's first match, and in dominating fashion, he won.

Sam then went onto set the record within ICWA for the longest undefeated streak. After an explosive Overload taping on the 26th of June, Samuel found himself defeating a man who he had formulated a respect for, Skusi, his record bumping up to 5 wins consecutive.

On July 4, 2007. Samuel Hessingstock somehow overcome the odds...the fans were in shock, as were even ICWA officials as he made a huge win...defeating Reaper to become #1 contender to the ICWA world title.

It would be soon that he would find a friend and ally in the Hollywood bad-boy, KC O'Hara. KC and him would form to become Team Flawless, and continue on both undefeated streaks.

Next though, it was time for Sam to prove himself against none other than new world champion Levinator. Before he could do that though, he would send the biggest challenge of his career out...he would challenge Malicia Savage in a Falls Count Anywhere match...for his contention.

Malicia won this match, causing controversy among the ranks of the ICWA. It was after their following PPV that Samuel would upsticks and leave ICWA due to what he claimed was scandal.

Pure Honor Wrestling[]

During Sam's time in OUW, a company named PHW got in contact with him. Samuel joined the ranks, and was soon working his way to the top gold before the company went into liquidation.

However, PHW gained the funds to return to the wrestling world as a federation, and now Sam is once again in contention for the Universal Honorable Crown as the top title within PHW. Can he overcome the odds of being 8th seed?

Despite the odds, Samuel made it into the top 3, but was outclassed in the final match for the championship. Soon after losing this match, the PHW closed its doors.

Intense International Wrestling[]

During his time within ICWA, a former ICWA star, Osh Vaughan, got in contact with Samuel, and soon after they had drawn up a short contract. Samuel soon become a top star within IIW, dealing damage wherever he went as his style of an illusionist took everyone by surprise.

However, Samuel had trouble running with this style. Despite trying to make it work, he still lost 2 world championship matches, and so in the end bowed out of IIW quietly.

Independent Wrestling X[]

After ICWA, Samuel had a plan under his belt. He wanted to take his money that he had made from his world championship reigns, and open his own federation. On the 24th August 2007, he did just that, opening IWX.

From August through to November, Samuel had a healthy life within IWX, running things while remaining in the ring to keep the rust away. Some of his matches are the best remembered within IWX, including a Survival of the Sickest 6 man tag match that occurred at IWX : Honorbound. However, in November, IWX was closed due to Samuel Hessingstock being arrested...arrested for trying to kill fellow IWX star, Randall Raines!

He was acquitted of the crime, and went back to OUW. On January 16, 2007 however, IWX will return. Can he clear his name of this crime fully?

Post Death[]

Despite "dying", Samuel Hessingstock's career is not over. It would seem that not even a plane crash could end this young stars career...as now he resides in a new federation.

Ultimate Championship Wrestling[]

Samuel Hessingstock had a very storied career inside of Ultimate Championship Wrestling.

Within a short three weeks, Samuel won the newly instated Television Championship, beating four other men in the match to become the inaugural champion. Samuel would then lose the championship to Joe Chambers in a storied rivalry over the championship.

It would be however around two months before Samuel would truly shine. He would face Ian Garner in what would become a feud between two men with very different ideologies. Samuel would come out, barely, on top in a Survival of the Sickest match between the two, before Samuel would start to gun for the current UCW World Champion.

Samuel would finally face, and defeat Doctor Ian, and claim the championship, two months after, and would remain UCW champion until the closure of the show.

Independent Wrestling X[]

Soon after the loss of UCW, Samuel rejoined a federation which he once owned, IWX. During this stint he became Intercontinental Champion but due to backstage politics, he was forced into relenquishing the championship and the official statement of him ever owning the championship was deleted from the records!

He here would be embroiled shortly with Aaron Blaize in a bitter rivalry, before IWX would be forced into one final administration...

Premier WC[]

Soon after the catastrophe surrounding IWX, Samuel rejoined Premier WC, owned by Timothy Kamen. He would rejoin gunning for former PWC Legacy Champion, Thomas Watson. In doing so, Samuel would remain the fan favourite while sending distinct messages to Watson's family as well as costing Watson the championship in a rematch where Samuel would be the Special Guest Referee.

Samuel would try to continue his rivalry with Thomas Watson, however, on the February 25th edition of the show, Samuel was taken out on what was to be understood as a "worked injury". Samuel found himself being attacked by Cell Block, otherwise known as Jackson Walker, led by an insurgence into the company in Brydon Talinsdale.

During this, it was found that this injury was in fact legit, and after trained medicals took Samuel away, he was forced out of the industry for four months.

Simcoe County Championship Wrestling[]

The Comeback of a Century

Samuel was shocked to hear that Premier had closed during his tenure in the company, but moved on regardless.

Samuel awoke in a hospital in Simcoe County, an unknown small town in Canada. He had no knowledge of who he was or who he had been in the past. It was reported that this was initially a plan for an "angle", however, it came out soon enough that Samuel really didn't know anything and had suffered long term amnesia following the shock of waking up midway through surgery on his shoulder.

After bumping into Myke Adams at a café in the county, Samuel soon realized that his life was professional wrestling and signed up, via Jim Diamond, to join Simcoe County Championship Wrestling.

Samuel's first match up in SCCW was an SCCW Heavyweight Championship match set at Bunkhouse Brawl. The match was a fifteen man battle royale with hardcore rules where the winner would become champion. Myke Adams went onto win this, with Hessingstock placing second. Samuel would go on to have another match with Myke, and on the third encounter, he and Myke would go onto refuse to compete in a third match against one another, subsequently forming the team of Sydney Laroux, Myke Adams and Samuel Hessingstock; Common Dreads.

Shortly after joining Simcoe however, long time adversary Aaron Blaize also joined. As Samuel began to slowly fall for fellow worker, Sydney Laroux, Blaize would make life uncomfortable for the pair, resorting to attacking Laroux to get to Hessingstock. Within two months, Samuel gave his notice into SCCW front office, and went on to tour around the USA.

The Tour[]

The 'Common Dread' Tour[]

With Myke still wrestling as a part of Simcoe, Hessingstock decided it was time to hit the road alone. He took the name of "Common Dreads" and applied it to only himself. During this tour, Hessingstock visited various promotions, including the now defunct ICW and Uncensored. After two months, Hessingstock was offered his position back in Simcoe, which he accepted.

Simcoe County Championship Wrestling (2)[]

Hessingstock soon returned to Simcoe, a new attitude in tow. He would start by facing Damion Darkside in a battle over Sydney Laroux, that would see Damion Darkside getting beaten down by Hessingstock at a house show. The two would wage war on one another until it was announced that Damion Darkside had moved onto work solely in Arcadian Wrestling.

From there, Hessingstock began to train his young upstart, Ash Matthews once again. Hessingstock would enlist the help of fellow star, and former OUW Intercontinental Champion, Chris Stern for this and the two would slowly forge a great friendship. Hessingstock would eventually gain Chris Stern admittance into SCCW and within a week Chris Stern had signed up a contract with Simcoe.

The two would begin to regularly appear as a tag team, and would go onto face off against The Unholy Trinity (Dexter Somers, Damion Darkside, Ronnie McNeil & Joshua Baker) for the Simcoe County Heritage Tag Team Championships. The championships, previously won by the Trinity were being held up by The Trinity on their home turf of Arcadian Wrestling and it would be Hessingstock and Stern that would go forward to challenge them.

However, The Unholy Trinity broke a fundamental ruling of the championships and refused to defend the championship within thirty days. The titles were vacated and three weeks later were put on the line in a triple threat tag team championship match including The Chompions (Eaton Gore & Chris Champion) and the team of Tyler Graves and Dexter.

The newly popularized team of HessingStern would go onto win the championships on Monday 5 April 2010, at Blaize of Glory.

Due to issues arising between staff members and Hessingstock, Samuel left Simcoe a few weeks after Blaize of Glory.

PrYde[]

A few weeks later, Samuel would be found in California. He was later contacted by staff of PrYde where he would be put in his first match against Brick Houser. On the August 17th 2010 edition of PrYde's flagship show, Vindication, Samuel Hessingstock got the victory and became the first contender for the very first Iron Assault match in PrYde, where he will get a chance to win number one contention to the PrYde world championship.

PrYde's Iron
Hessingstock will challenge three others in a steel cage match where ropes will meet across the centre, supporting a briefcase for number one contention to the World Title. During this time, Samuel has taken on the persona of the "Iron man", claiming he is tempestuous, makes an impact on wherever he goes. He proved this by beating Brick Houser in the knock-out phase of the Iron Assault challenge. Hessingstock would go onto face Goth, Orphan Mysterio and The Paragon, where he would win the Iron Assault match to become the new number one contender.

=[]

Sydney
During Samuel's first week of PrYde, he met with Sydney in California in a bar. This chance encounter allowed them to rekindle their relationship that was lost months ago. Samuel revealed to her that he was to tour with PrYde, and Sydney soon followed, showing up at the following Defiance. As the two got close again, Sydney started to concentrate on Simcoe once again, leaving Samuel in PrYde.

=[]

The Successor
In order to help himself prepare for the world title match that was upcoming, Samuel went to visit his old protege, Ash Matthews. Ash would begin to follow Hessingstock on the road once again during this.

At Rise and Fall, Hessingstock's first PPV on Sunday 31 October, Hessingstock won his first PrYde world champion, pinning Maxxx Hardcore after hitting him with a modified version of The Flipside. This was during a triple threat match with former champion Taurus Black and Maxxx Hardcore.

Appearance[]

Sam's appearance has changed radically. He currently has short brown hair, which is spiked heavily with wax. He also is adorned with lots of tattoos, a large green Scorpion runs down his right arm, with black tribal markings running down behind it. The right arm has lots of tribal markings too.

Sam also has tattoos on his knuckles, on both hands.

Attire[]

  • Ring attire: Black baggy jean trousers with a green Scorpion on the right leg. White "skate style" shoes. White wrist tape with either a dark green "Y" on the right hand, or a dark green "S" on the left. He never wears both.
  • PPV attire: Black baggy jean trousers with a black Scorpion on the right leg. It is visible due to a red outline. Black wrist tape with a white "S" on the left hand. Black shoes.
  • Entrance attire: The same as entrance attires, but during the entrance, Scorpion wears a black shirt jacket or a black open zipped hooded jacket. Both have "The Anti~Hero" written on them in dark green, with the signature Scorpion in white behind it.
  • Paramount entrance attire: Scorpion wears a white version of the open zipped hooded jacket with "The Anti~Hero" written in black. The Scorpion is in green.
  • Backstage attire: Often seen in either his ring attire or a black suit, including a black shirt.

Entrance Musics[]

In the past, Sam has had many Entrance musics, and a team music, besides the one he currently has.

  • Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name Of..." was his first.
  • Avenged Sevenfold's "Sidewinder" Accompanied Scorpion whilst he was the purest of poisons
  • Temporarily, Scorpion's music was changed to The Deftones "My Own Summer" during his faction with Gamr, in cardYnal sYn.
  • Sevendust's "Broken Down" is his longest lasting E.Music, which lasted from Syndication '06 - Turmoil '06.
  • Sam then used "Everyday Combat" by Lostprophets until one night prior to Paramount 2007. This is still Scorpions AOW music.
  • Samuel then used "Yer Majesty" by Shinedown.
  • After Paramount III, Samuel Hessingstock's music changed to "My Damsel : A confession to an Adversary" by Evans Blue
  • In his tag team partnership with Stephen Steele, Out of My Way by Seether was used.
  • Samuel's entrance music then used "Just Another Star" by Bullet For My Valentine in IWX, and You are Godzilla, we are Japan" by LostProphets in OUW
  • It would be later on in UCW, that a new attitude of Samuel Hessingstock would come out, and the current theme of Enter Shikari's "Anything Can Happen in the Next Half An Hour would be used.
  • Hessingstock since has gone back to his old music of "Yer Majesty" by Shinedown.
  • His team music with Chris Stern is "Stillborn" by Black Label Society
  • During IWX, Samuel changed his entrance music to "Alone" by Bullet for my Valentine.
  • He has carried "Alone" by Bullet for my Valentine through to PrYde.

Monikers[]

Sam has had a few monikers in his past. Notably, he switches between the two depending on his mindset. If he believes he will be a life taker in the match, and will do considerable damage, he will often refer to poison, taking the stand point of The Purest Of Poisons. If he believes that he will be fighting to help the OUW and himself at the same time, he will be the Anti~Hero, who has the aim of doing the right things just not always doing them in the right way.

  • The Purest of Poisons was his first, accompanying a heel feel to the character of Scorpion.
  • The Anti~Hero was next. This was dropped before the Massacre PPV at OUW.
  • The Scorpion is Samuel Hessingstock's main moniker that has lasted him throughout ihs career.
  • Currently, Hessingstock is naming himself PrYde's "Ironman".
  • During his time in UCW, Samuel was named the Kingslayer due to a notable feud with Doctor Ian.
