OWA Stairway To Stardom V | SSW Stairway To Stardom VI | -- |
SSW Stairway To Stardom VI was a professional wrestling event hosted by Solid Studios Wrestling. It was originally set to take place on July 12, 2015, but was pushed back to the scheduled date of July 26, to allow for talent bookings. Due to production issues, however, the event was again delayed, and finally took place on August 2. It was the sixth event to take place under the Stairway To Stardom name, and the first to take place in SSW.
In addition to showcasing the best SSW has to offer, the event was also a celebration of Future Bebo Wrestling and Online Wrestling Alliance -- two now-defunct companies that paved the way for SSW, and housed many top SSW talents, such as Trip Johnson and Heath Williams.
Background[]
The main event was initially set up at Holy Grail; Trip Johnson managed to defend the SSW Championship against Tony Flow and Grant Ward, while Cash Morgan won the Equalizer Match to earn a main event spot at Stairway To Stardom. However, in the weeks following the event, an in-between event was announced in the form of Locked Up -- along with it came the Elimination Chamber for the SSW Title, putting Johnson's spot in the STS main event in jeopardy.

Trip Johnson, the SSW Champion heading into the event.
During the qualifying matches for the chamber, Heath Williams -- who had cut a promo degrading Morgan's Equalizer victory earlier in the night -- was about to win his match, when Morgan interfered, costing him a spot in the chamber. Williams publicly called out Morgan, and a match was made between the two at Locked Up, with Morgan's title shot on the line -- Morgan won the match, thanks to outside interference from Stu E. Dangerously, thus retaining his title shot.
The show will feature the return of the popular Pot of Gold Match; a ladder match for a briefcase containing a guaranteed title shot at any time the holder chooses. This will be the first time this match will be held in Solid Studios Wrestling, and therefore the first time the contract can be used for an SSW Championship match. On the June 26 episode of SSW, Sarinyde became the first man to qualify for the match when he defeated Jeff Palmer. On the July 3 episode, The Red Raiser and Hit Points also qualified for the match, by winning their respective matches against Shuko Obata and Bob Van Dam.
At the Locked Up event, The Nunchuk Kids were defeated by Tony Flow and Colton Slater, who captured the SSW Tag Team Championship from them. It was soon announced that the rematch for the titles would take place at Stairway To Stardom VI.
A match featured in the mid-card is the match between Alex West and El Ese. Their feud began at Holy Grail, where the two challenged The Nunchuk Kids for the SSW Tag Team Championship, where West betrayed Ese, costing them the match.
Event[]
The show kicked off with the Ladder Match to determine the holder of the Pot of Gold briefcase, earning the winner a guaranteed SSW Championship match at any time they choose. Sarinyde was victorious in the match when he retrieved the case.
