SOS: Rebirth was a Sim Wrestling event held by Society of Sim on January 14th, 2006. It is credited as one of the most historic events in SOS's tenure. It was one of the smoothest-running shows in SOS's history, and one of the most critically acclaimed events in Simming. Rebirth was the only SOS event to have an era named for it, the Rebirth Era.

SOS World Title, SOS Three Dream Match: Derek Mayfield defeated The Buck and Zach Zero, pinning Zero following a modified Total Impact. (4th Defense).

Rebirth was one of the smoothest-running shows in history, as all writers got their material into the show well before the due date. Readers gave high praise to the event.
In a poll conducted in January 2007 (roughly a year after the event), Rebirth tied with High Society for SOS's 2006 Show of the Year. In another 2006 year-end poll, the main event of Derek Mayfield vs. The Buck vs. Zach Zero, tied with two other matches (Twist vs. Joe Riot vs. The Buck from September Sho'down, and Zach Zero vs. Meiko Marufuji from No Help Needed) for 2006 Match of the Year. In a runoff poll between the three matches only, Mayfield vs. Buck vs. Zero won with 71.43% of the vote.
Legacy[]
"Rebirth" is the only event with an entire era of SOS named for it, The Rebirth Era. Many SOS readers and writers credit the show for re-igniting SOS after its downturn and subsequent temporary shutdown in late 2005. Activity on both the forums and actual game of SOS skyrocketed following Rebirth, and the momentum carried on for several months.
