Ruff Rabbi, born (February 21, 1985), is an American professional wrestler currently wrestling for the Lock Wrestling Federation. His true name is Shimshon Pinchas ha Kohen.
Career[]
The Ruff Rabbi grew up learning Torah and Talmud in Crown Heights Brooklyn. He secretly began to learn various forms of martial arts in order to protect himself and his family after the Crown Heights Riots of 1991. At 18 he left home and attended Yeshiva in Israel but dropped out to join the Israeli Defense Force. After his time in the IDF he returned to yeshiva and studied successfully to become a Rabbi. After returning to the United States he taught young adults by day but moonlighted as a wrestler with several amateur wrestling promotions around the country. In 2001, going against the wishes of many in his community, he accepted an invitation to join the LWF in order to showcase his martial skills and his religious fervor.
