Robert Matthew Chapman, better known by his ring name, Rob Chapman, is a second-generation Canadian Professional Wrestler. He is currently signed to the Xtreme Wrestling Association as a part-time competitor, and co-operates a wrestling school, the C4 Wrestling Academy, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where he resides.

He is well known for proudly leading a Straight Edge lifestyle, in and out of the ring, his record-setting title reigns as a 2WWF Lionheart Champion and XWA Intercontinental Champion, and for a hybrid wrestling style that mixes aerial maneuvers, power moves, technical holds, and precision strikes (kicks, in particular).

He a former XWA Intercontinental Champion, holding the record for the longest reign with that title, and is also a 2-time 2WWF World Heavyweight Champion, a 3-time 2WWF Lionheart Champion, a former 2WWF Internet Champion, and honorary EWI Hybrid Champion.

Background[]

Robert Chapman was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, on March 28, 1987. His family migrated to British Columbia when he was an infant, and he grew up in the Vancouver area. Whilst living in B.C., he became friends with, unknown to him, one of his eventual wrestling rivals, Tyler Chandler.

Rob moved back to Nova Scotia with his family at age 13. Rob took an interest in becoming a professional wrestler while he was still in high school, so he began training under his father. After graduating, Rob trained under former WWF Superstar Steve Blackman at his Shoot Wrestling school, Blackman MMA. After his vistior's visa expired, Rob moved to Ontario and began training at the Can-Am wrestling school (across the border, near Detroit), run by Scott D'Amore. Here, he met and trained with future friend, Matt Hetfield (Later known as Matt Aroya). To pay for the classes he worked the night shift as a high school janitor. After a short time at Can-Am, Rob was scouted by an upstart California promotion and subsequently hired.

Wrestling career[]

total Xtreme wrestling: 2005 (Now Defunct)[]

Rob made his professional wrestling debut in the California based promotion total Xtreme wrestling. Rob made his debut against El Embrujo in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match, which he won. The following week, he wrestled Rain to a time limit draw in a "Fans Bring The Weapons Match". The company folded after the second show.

Extreme Wrestling Alliance: 2005 (Now Defunct)[]

Rob worked for the short lived wrestling company, Extreme Wrestling Alliance, which toured the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia. While there, he appeared as the on-screen GM and is best known for competing against Tyler Chandler in a somewhat controversial Barbed Wire Ropes Match, which he won. Due to some controversy surrounding the match's level of blood, EWA became the target of a parental anti-violence group and folded a short time later due to court fees.

Extreme Wrestling Impact, World Wrestling Alliance, and Adrenaline Rush Wrestling: 2005/2006 (Now Defunct)[]

Rob was signed to Extreme Wrestling Impact (EWI) in late 2005, defeating Terry Turanza by submission in his debut. Whilst wrestling for EWI, Rob also trained with Axel Anvil to work on his performance skills, since EWI didn't possess a developmental territory.

Rob continued to wrestle standard singles matches until he engaged in a feud with Axel that culminated in a "Barefoot Thumbtack Match". At the following pay-per-view, Rob teamed with Axel and Clark Chandler in a "Survival Of The Sickest" match against the Team WWA (World Wrestling Alliance) for his brand's right to control of the company. Team WWA won, and EWI was merged with WWA.

Rob continued to work for WWA in dark matches and standard singles matches, while also making appearances for another upstart wrestling company, Adrenaline Rush Wrestling, as a color commentator.

Due to his WWA contract, Rob was only permitted to do commentary, and never wrestled for ARW. The company was eventually bought out by WWA in 2006 as a potential developmental territory, but died off when several active roster members left for bigger companies.

Rob spent the last quarter of his WWA tenure working as an enhancement talent, and was eventually granted a release upon request.

Two Worlds Wrestling Federation 2006/2007 (Now Defunct)[]

Rob signed with Two Worlds Wrestling Federation (2WWF) soon after leaving WWA. Rob competed in mid-card, singles matches for some time before an encounter with Axel Anvil, rekindling their feud from EWI and WWA.

After competing in a Street Fight, the two of them settled their feud in a Drunken Deathmatch. Rob has cited this match (which was nominated for Wrestling Observer's "Worst Worked Match" of 2007) as the 'final straw' that lead him to adopting the Straight Edge lifestyle in real life, after issues with drinking during his time in WWA. It marked an important turning point in his personal life, and would later provide him with the first, and longest standing gimmick that he would come to be known for in his wrestling career.

He returned to working mid-card singles matches for a few more weeks before disappearing from television for awhile to meet with counsellors and get his personal life in order. During this time, Rob's contract expiration came up, and he chose not to re-sign with the company.

Rob made one final appearance for 2WWF on the last day of his contract, losing a match to his off-and-on rival, LX-Tim, under a mask (using the name "Hardkore"). Rob has said that 2WWF suggested he adopt a new in-ring persona (which he eventually did) in light of the negative backlash to the Drunken Deathmatch, and if he felt comfortable with that persona (which was a combination of his and creative's ideas), that he would be welcomed back whenever he was ready to come back and pick up where he left off.

Reportedly, the outcome of the match was changed at the last minute, as, after seeing Chapman in the Hardkore costume, both parties agreed that it wasn't going to get over, and would only serve to hurt LX-Tim's push. "It looked a lot better on paper," said Chapman in an interview later. "I looked like a bad comic cosplay. I was really scrawny at the time and didn't fill out the costume. Not to mention, the whole masked thing was sort of lost in translation, since I wasn't talking with wrestling media at the time about my personal life. It just seemed random, and to anyone who didn't know what was going on- which was literally everyone other than us and some backstage guys- it was absolutely fucking random. Tim and I had a good laugh about the costume after the match was over. I eventually I tossed it when I moved to California in 2010, but I still have the mask." says Chapman of the mask, costume, and the reason the gimmick didn't get over.

Following the match, Rob removed the mask and shook hands with LX-Tim as a sign of respect, and as his own personal farewell from the company.

Extreme Wrestling Impact: 2007(Now Defunct)[]

Rob Chapman was signed to the resurrected EWI promotion several months after leaving 2WWF to sort out his personal life.

His first match and feud was with the debuting Mr. Clean. The had a short feud over a period of six weeks that was well-recieved, and included a Ladder Match, a Casket Match, and an Iron Circle match, in which Chapman, now wrestling as a smack-talking underdog, lost all three bouts. During this time, he picked up singles wins against wrestlers such as Hermanni Lindstrom and Lucifear.

Following his feud with Mr. Clean, Chapman immediately engaged in a feud with his old friend and rival, the debuting Tyler Chandler. The two traded promos on the EWI.com website, culminating in a TLC Match between them at Winter Blitz. Just prior to that match, Rob interfered (with his face shrouded) in a match between Lucifear and Ricky Neilson, striking both Lucifear and his valet Lucille with a Super Kick, costing Lucifear the match, then disappearing into the crowd. Rob proceeded to win his match against Tyler Chandler, assaulting him after the match, and putting him out of action (kayfabe) for the next month with a head injury, turning heel in the process. During the post-match celebration, he officially aligned with Ricky Neilson, and they formed the tag team known as Dirty Deeds.

The feud with Chandler ended following Chandler's injury, and Rob competed in several singles matches ranging from mid-to-upper card against the likes of Lucifear, Jaken Daust, LX-Tim, Mr. Clean, and Eric Daniels, while also wrestling tag matches as Dirty Deeds. Dirty Deeds became the #1 contenders for LX-Tim and Jaken Daust's tag titles, but were not victorious in their attempts to claim them.

During this time, Rob acquired his only victory in a match involving Mr. Clean, pinning Eric Daniels in a Triple Threat match. He entered the Blood Sport Open, but was eliminated in the first round by James Star.

Rob about to take on Axel Anvil and LX-Tim in EWI

Rob defeated the duo of LX-Tim and Axel Anvil in a 1-on-2 handicap "circus tent" match in controversial fashion after performing Axel's signature "Darkness Drop" on Axel himself.

Chapman was set to face Mr. Clean one last time for the Hybrid title on the following episode of Meltdown, but was pulled from the card following a (legitimate) backstage fight with Montel Jones, and suspended without pay. EWI shut down before Rob's suspension was over, leaving Rob free to pursue work with other wrestling organizations.

A-Dojo and Indies (2007-2008)[]

After EWI closed, Rob decided to travel to Japan, where he worked for the A-Dojo promotion off and on as a mid-card singles competitor. He competed in a multi-event tournament for the AWGP Light-Heavyweight title, but was defeated in the quarter-finals. He also made sporadic appearances in Mexico, during International cross-promotional events, and for some small independent companies in North America, most notably EWE, where he briefly feuded with Tyler Chandler once again.

Two Worlds Wrestling Federation 2008[]

Rob returned to 2WWF in on July 27th, 2008, where he was awarded the EWI Hybrid Championship by Mr. Clean as a show of sportsmanship. He made his debut as an active competitor that August, using a face version of his 'Straight Edge' persona from EWI, and entered into a short feud with James Williams that spanned one month.

Rob went on to win the recently-introduced "Lionheart" Championship, holding the belt for nearly 3 months (a record only broken by 2WWF superstar Danny Diamond), during which time he defeated the likes of LX-Tim, James Knight, Apollas Creed, Mosh, and James Star. Chapman eventually lost the title to Shade (who was one of his opponents in the match he initially won the title in) one week before he was due to face Minkaro, the belt's inventor, at Hell Games, putting Chapman at a significant psychological disadvantage.

Shade Wins

Minkaro defeated Rob at Hell Games, but thanks to a strong performance, he was entered into the Blood Sport Open (a tournament to name a number one contender for the 2WWF Championship) on the following Breakdown. Rob progressed to the semi-finals of the Tournament before being eliminated by The Riddler.

Shortly thereafter, Chapman was hand picked by tournament winner and recently-crowed 2WWF Champion, Dave Delicious to face him at Revelation for the 2WWF World Heavyweight Championship in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match.

In the weeks leading up to the Championship match, Rob went on a losing streak due to the pressure of trying to live up to the Champion's hype, leading to him declaring that if Dave Delicious beat him at Revelation, he would quit his job as a 2WWF superstar. The same week, Rob won his match on Breakdown and looked poised to leave Revelation as the new Champion.

At Revelation, however, Rob lost his match against Dave Delicious after performing a Death Valley Driver off the top of a ladder, dislocating his shoulder and straining his neck, rendering him unable to compete. Rob was set to appear on the next Breakdown, but complications with his doctor kept him from appearing on TV. Chapman took some much needed time off due to his health and personal issues with his family. During this time, it was announced that he had parted ways with the company on air, after which he was no longer mentioned by name by the broadcast commentators. However, he was addressed in several other wrestlers' promos.

Three months later, Rob made a surprise return, under a split personality gimmick, both as a more serious, heel version of his Straight Edge persona, and also wrestling under face paint, in an unorthodox attire, using the ring name Esylum.

Esylum & Diveraz

Esylum with Dominik Diveraz in a Fireman's Carry

The Esylum gimmick was heavily based off Heath Ledger's "Joker" from the immensely popular movie: "The Dark Knight". After receiving a warning from Warner about gimmick infringement, Esylum became used more sparingly. As Esylum, Rob began to make references to the movie through his promos, intended to be discrete shots at WB, and often quoted lyrics from Pink Floyd's album, "The Wall", and also various comic book characters.

Within a month and a half, Rob started wrestling only as himself, appearing only in promos as Esylum. A feud was initially set up between Esylum and Ace Acid, but it wasn't well-received and was ultimately scrapped, along with the gimmick.

Rob participated in the 2008 Redemption Chamber, facing off against Darc, Roach Cooper, Ace Acid, Samael, and Thomas Barnez, for the World Title, which was won by Ace acid.

Rob returned to wrestling mid-card singles matches until Blood Stained 2008, when Ricky Neilson made a surprise return and the two reformed their EWI tag team, Dirty Deeds for one night against the debuting team of Ronnie Wright and Aidan Brave, who they lost to.

Rob faced Ace Acid in the main event of the May 8th edition of Breakdown, wrestling a Two out of Three falls match under Pure rules. Towards the end of the match, Rob was involved in a serious accident when when the rope supporting the turnbuckle he was standing on snapped, causing him to lose elevation and botch a Shooting Star Press, landing on his neck in the process. Rob defeated Acid moments later with Heathen Chemistry, however, the missed Shooting Star press caused significant damage to his neck, later revealed to be a fractured vertebrae in his spine. Consequently, Chapman underwent surgery for his neck, and did not appear again on television for the rest of the year.

Rob returned to 2WWF in February, 2009, challenging then 2WWF Champion Ace Acid for the title in his returning match. Rob came up short against Acid, but came close to winning the title, establishing him as a legitimate main eventer for the first time in his career.

Rob continued to wrestle singles matches against prominent opponents until entering a feud with Ken Taylor over the LionHeart title. During their final match, Chapman controversially defeated Taylor by pinfall, when the referee failed to notice Taylor's foot on the bottom rope. Rob became 2WWF's first two-time LionHeart champion, ending Taylor's title run two weeks before he would have broken Chapman's run preventing Taylor from beating his record.

The pair faced off the next week in a two-out-of-three falls match, but Rob retained the title in controversial fashion again, after being attacked by Roach Cooper, costing Ken Taylor the second point of the match by disqualification.

At Nemesis 2009, Rob competed against Leon Astin and Ken Taylor in the main event for the vacated 2WWF World Championship and was able to defeat Taylor and Astin after reversing an attempted double team maneuver off of the top rope, pinning them both with a double Ranhei. As a result, Chapman became the first, and one of the only people to hold the World Championship and the LionHeart Championship simultaneously.

Two weeks later, Rob defended the LionHeart title against The Truth in his debut. The following week, Chapman faced off against the Descendants of Idols (Mark Storey & Frankie K. Young) whilst tagging with former rival, Ace Acid. After the match, Ace turned on Rob by hitting him with a Super Kick to the face.

The week before Hell Games, Rob lost both the World Championship and LionHeart Championship to Mark Storey, who cashed in his "Golden Ticket" World title shot.

The next week, Rob was unexpectedly released from the company, but both parties eventually clarified that Rob needed to get his health in order, due to recurring complications from his neck and back injury last year. Although he was no longer under contract, Rob made a pair of appearances for 2WWF. First, Rob appeared as a special guest during the 2009 League Of Legends ceremony, where he inducted Ace Acid. During the induction, Chapman engaged in a heated argument with Shade (kayfabe) and later Ace Acid himself, who trash talked Chapman after accepting the award, hinting at a possible feud.

Chapman appeared at Crosswired 2009 to confront Ace Acid in a surprise Lethal Lockdown match. Once again, Acid emerged from the match victorious, it was nominated for match of the year and is considered to be one of Rob's best matches from 2WWF.

Stan Showtime - 2WWF, 2009[]

Rob returned to 2WWF in November of 2009 under the masked persona of Stan Showtime, based heavily on Jim Carrey's portrayal of "The Mask" from the 1990's film of the same name.

Showtime was a part of several multi-man matches including a Ladder Match for the Lionheart Title, and a 4-Man Cage Match (Where he infamously stopped Minkaro from escaping the cage by racing him up to the top to ask for his autograph) for the same belt later on.

Showtime!

Showtime emerged victorious in a qualifier for the 2009 Redemption Chamber. The week before the Chamber, Stan faced 2WWF Hardcore Champion Mark Storey after Storey issued an open challenge, facing and defeating him in a non-title Hardcore match.

At Redemption, just before the chamber match, Stan removed his mask (just out of the camera's frame) and after entering the chamber, revealed that Stan Showtime was in fact Rob Chapman. Removing the bright yellow suit he wore in his entrance as Showtime, Chapman revealed an Our World Now t-shirt, much to Chamber participant Mark Storey's surprise and delight, officially joining the dominant heel faction and watching Mark's back during the Championship bout.

Our World Now, feud with Shade, "Scar" persona - 2WWF, 2009 - 2010[]

Despite having defeated oWn co-founder Mark Storey two weeks prior, and having faced off against him in the Redemption Chamber, Rob sided loyally with the all-heel faction collectively known as Our World Now alongside the likes of Ace Acid, Danny Diamond, Axel Anvil, Mello, and several others that would join the faction in the weeks to come.

OWn Assembled

During this time he became embroiled in several feuds at once, most notably against Shade thanks to Rob's attitude while playing against Shade Xbox Live.

The two were shown playing against each other and repeatedly cutting promos on each other, culminating in a match known as the Video Game Annihilation Match (nominated for match of the year 2010), which Rob won. As per the stipulation, Shade was supposed to allow Rob to perform his finishing move on him, otherwise he would lose his spot on the 2WWF Board of Directors, but Shade ultimately left the ring after the match, denying Rob the right after his victory. Rob was then attacked by Matt Aroya (Rob's manager at one time) at the behest of General Manager Roach Cooper (also his wrestling instructor), who Rob was also feuding with, which culminated in the pair hitting Rob with a double team variation of Shade's finisher, the SYN Drive, and an intoxicated Aroya very controversially pouring beer down Rob's throat.

The following week on Breakdown, Rob won a match against Aroya after using questionable tactics. That night, Rob and the majority of the members of Our World Now were rather unceremoniously kicked out by Mark Storey and Ace Acid after the main event.

Some time later, Rob adapted a gimmick after being injured backstage that saw him enter a rivalry with new talent Kold. Inspired by Batman character Victor Zzasz, Rob would cut his body after each victory in a ceremonial fashion. The angle was not well received, and his last match under this gimmick was against Sean Young, who defeated him. Shortly thereafter, Rob was released from his contract, along with Kold, Izanami Mikoto, Michael Astin (formerly known as Shade), Leon Astin, and several others at the time due to 2WWF running into some financial troubles.

Return to 2WWF 2010 - 2011 (Now Defunct)[]

RC backstage

Rob returned to 2WWF on the Christmas Eve edition of Breakdown to answer Michael Astin's open challenge in a losing effort.

The following week at Crosswired, Chapman was seen backstage during a promo with Danny Diamond, setting up a possible feud between them. The following week, the two men were part of a contract signing for a Best-of-Three series that would involve Danny's Internet Title. That same night, Rob was named at random as Ace Acid's opponent for the 2WWF World Championship. Ace picked up the win after a hard fought match, leaving Rob clear to feud with Diamond over the Internet Title. The following week, Rob and Danny competed in a hard-fought bout, just prior to which, Danny Diamond vowed that if he couldn't make Rob tap to his submission finisher, The Silencer, he would shave his head bald. The match seemed over as Danny locked The Silencer in on Rob, but Rob reversed the maneuver into a rollup pin and defeated Danny. The following week, at the start of Breakdown, Danny came out wearing a skullcap to conceal his head, only to remove it, revealing a full head of hair, going back on his word from the previous week. Rob quickly came out and tried to convince Danny to keep his word, but Danny refused. Rob then hit the ring, leading to a brief brawl and Rob inevitably revealing an electric shaver, which he used to shave Danny's head after incapacitating him. Later in the evening, while Rob was making his entrance for their second match in the best-of-three series, Danny brutally attacked and bloodied him to a submissive state, before rolling him into the ring. Danny immediately applied his signature Silencer submission, causing Rob to pass out from the pain, which resulted in a referee stoppage.

At 2WWF's next Pay-Per-View, Rob was double booked to compete. He competed first in a violent I Quit Match against Danny Diamond to end the best-of-three series. Rob and Danny both took each other to their absolute limits, with Rob finally winning the match and the Internet Championship by setting Danny on fire. Later in the evening, the now weary Chapman put on an incredible showing against Ace Acid and Mark Storey, which included a leap from the 2WWF-Tron onto Acid and Storey. The match ended with Ace Acid pinning Rob following a turn by Mark Storey and interference from T.K., forming a new version of Our World Now. After the Pay-Per-View, Rob was hospitalized (both in real life and kayfabe) due to a possible case of blood poisoning from his match with Danny Diamond, as a result of gasoline entering into an open wound inflicted during the match. In the weeks leading to the next Pay-Per-View, Rob did not appear in person, but was attacked in the hospital by Danny Diamond (dressed as Mirage). The feud was dropped without a word as Rob was not cleared to compete in their scheduled Ultimate X match for the Internet Title. Neither Rob or Danny would appear to work for 2WWF again, and were willingly released from their contracts a short time later.

Total No Limits: 2011 (Defunct since late 2012)[]

Rob briefly worked for a company called Total No Limits, winning his debut in a 5-Man Battle Royal to gain number one contendership for the United States Title. After being attacked by Cerberus on the opening of the following show, Rob wasn't seen in TNL again. His contracts were per-appearance, and he didn't re-sign following the second show.

Colorado River Wrestling: 2011 (Now Defunct)[]

Rob worked for a small independent company in Yuma, Arizona known as Colorado River Wrestling which put on bi-weekly, no-charge webcasts. He debuted on the opening show, defeating Kevin Blaine in singles competition. Rob won a handful of matches, and also cut an infamous worked shoot promo that gained some brief popularity on social media before the promotion folded a short time later.

Xtreme Wrestling Alliance: 2011/2012[]

Rob worked for XWA on the short-lived Desire brand for approximately 2 months under as Gaiden, a masked wrestler with a lizard-like appearance who employed a Martial Arts-focused wrestling style. He only lost one match, to Sean Young, for the LionHeart title. He went on to earn a World Championship match against T.K., but walked out of XWA before the Pay-Per-View along with many other former 2WWF and XWA wrestlers, who went on to help re-form the company, as it was reported that the Desire brand would be shut down and their contracts not renewed.

Two World Wrestling Federation: 2012(Now Defunct)[]

Rob returned to a re-formed 2WWF as himself in late 2012. He hovered around the main event scene for awhile, facing Danny Diamond, Jeise, and others. Rob won the 2012 Redemption Chamber, where he received his first major title push since 2008, defeating Damien Ripper, Sean Young, LX-Tim, Jaylon Brown, and JHalc for the 2WWF World Championship. Rob defended the title against LX-Tim in a Falls Count Anywhere match at the next Pay-Per-View, multiple times against Thomas Barnez, and once against Sean Young before the company once again folded. Rob never officially lost the 2WWF title.

Post-2WWF & indies (2012-2014)[]

Following 2WWF's closure, Rob took time off from wrestling to spend some time with his family. During this time he worked occasional bookings for local Halifax promotions, but didn't stray outside the area.

Rob was heavily rumoured to re-sign with the Xtreme Wrestling Association and work an angle with Danny Diamond in early 2013, but the angle was modified to be worked with T.K.. Instead, Rob briefly worked for a another XWA- the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance- in the summer of 2013, wrestling half a dozen matches before having to leave his contract due to complications with his previously injured neck. Rob underwent neck surgery in September of 2013, and as of January, 2014, he has succssfully rehabilitated the injury. He began to train with his father, Jeffrey, during his school's off season, and returned actively to the gym for the first time in years, getting into the best shape of his career.

Rob returned to the Xtreme Wrestling Association for a one-off match with Danny Diamond, who's contract was expiring at the end of March. The two competed in a 60 Minute No Disqualification Ironman Match at CyberSlam, which Rob won five falls to four. Following the match, the two were given a standing ovation from the crowd. The match has been nominated for XWA's Match-of-the-Year award for 2014. Rob and Danny both parted ways with XWA on good standing. He returned to Halifax to train the next class at C4 Academy, and continued to work occasional independant shows throughout early 2014.

Xtreme Wrestling Association (2014 - Present)[]

In May of 2014, Rob began to tease a return to the Xtreme Wrestling Association on his Twitter account, and later confirmed a return to the ring in an interview with PWInsider. He returned to XWA on June 15th, 2014, being dubbed "The Silent Protagonist". Rob doesn't speak anything distinguishable, and communicates his thoughts during occasional vignettes before his matches, in which written letters are read by a text to speech program.

Rob defeated his rival Shade in singles competition in his debut. At The Big Ass American Bash 2014, he competed against the returning DC Hennig in a losing effort. Following the Pay-Per-View, Chapman competed in a Round Robin-style tournament for the XWA Intercontinental Title. Rob was one of only two competitors to win every Tournament match he was placed in, defeating Mack, The Pirate, and C5 Ion. A week before the tournament finals, Rob Chapman lost to LJ Summers by count-out, after hitting a Super Kick to the back of LJ's head and walking out of the match. Chapman was invited to join an apparent stable known as 'The Cult' by a mysterious individual, but did not respond.

Rob won the Intercontinental Title in a Triple Threat match at Revolutionary Wars 6- his first title victory in two years- defeating The Pirate, again, and Akira Kobayashi, after interference from Cerberus. He seemed poised to join The Hopeful, but following the departures of Robert Hope and Cerberus from the company, he appears to have left the group. He was invited by the XWA World Heavyweight Champion, Danny Diamond to join he and Azrael as "The New Hopeful", but instead challenged Danny to a match at Vendetta 88, only to no-show when his music was played. The following week, he spoke for the first time since returning to XWA, and traded intense words with Danny Diamond. He also shot down the offer of 'The Cult' during his promo. They faced on the co-main event of Vendetta 89, in which Rob lost to Diamond cleanly. Rob did not appear on Vendetta 90, but appeared at Endure to defend the Intercontinental Title against the debuting Kendrick Bayne, a member of The Cult, being managed by Shade.

Personal life[]

Rob resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife, Sotoria. They had a son, Michael, in 2011. He was formerly the lead singer of indie alternative-rock Band "Black Phoenix Down" who released two EP's before disbanding in early 2012. He co-founded the C4 Wrestling Academy in 2011 with his father, Jeffrey, and the two of them co-operate the school. Presently, Matt Hetfield is filling Rob's position as a trainer while Rob is competing internationally for XWA.
