Global Wrestling Coalition

Solomon signed a contract with the Global Wrestling Coalition on January 6, 2007 and attended his first live wrestling show 4 days earlier. On the 17th January edition of Assault he faced David Alastair in his first match and picked up a victory by submission after Alastair tapped out to the Teeth of the Dragon.

Solomon was booked in the 8-man Battle Royal for the 24th January Assault, with the last two participants going on to compete for the GWC United States Championship on the 31st January edition of Assault. In the Battle Royal, Solomon eliminated two other contestants and managed to be one of the final two wrestlers left in the ring, with Alaric Griffon being the other and consequently his next opponent.

During the 31/1 edition of Assault, Red Solomon made history by becoming the first ever wrestler to win a belt in the GWC, as well as its first United States champion. He beat Phoenix Chambers, instead of Griffon as earlier agreed, in a brutal Ladder Match. Red has been booked to defend his title at GWC Alpha against David Alastair, after Alastair won a Number One Contender match.

Early Days

Red Solomon never wanted to be or imagined himself working one day as a professional wrestler for one of the top rated wrestling federations in America. From his childhood in Singapore, the young Solomon was an intense practitioner of the martial arts, often combining the Chinese and Malay fighting disciplines of his homeland into his own unique style. Although he would enjoy the occasional episode of Raw and never fail to miss a WrestleMania, Red's interests lay firmly elsewhere. After graduating from university with a degree in physical education, the martial artist would complete 2 years of national service in the military before venturing overseas to continue his training.

The first stage of his journey would take him to Thailand, the stomping ground of some of the deadliest fighters in the world. Working by day and training by night, Solomon would soon make a name for himself as a promising young student of Muay Thai Boxing, the martial art famed for its emphasis on swift strikes and fast finishing. After just 6 months, he entered a national tournament organised by the International Federation of Muay Thai Amateurs. Progressing through the ranks, the rookie stunned the kickboxing scene by winning the tournament, beating several more experienced athletes in the process.

Hong Kong

Soon afterwards, Solomon would use the prize money and the resulting fame to travel to Hong Kong and further his training in the martial arts. In the homeland of probably the greatest martial artists of all time, Bruce Lee, Solomon would continue to perfect his rapidly developing style which was influenced by the many different cultures he had learned from. However he encountered unspecified trouble in the former British colony, and was forced to leave the city. Needing a new destination, he decided make Japan the next stop on his travels.

In Japan, Red Solomon would meet the person who would have the greatest influence on his wrestling career. The Lady, a mysterious yet talented agent, agreed to sponsor the young athlete's training in Japan in return for the chance of managing his career later on. Fuelled by a new sense of purpose, Solomon would dedicate the next few years of his life learning and practising the Japanese form of both amateur and professional wrestling. After strong performances in tournaments and house shows, The Lady would evenutally clinch a deal to bring the both of them over to the United States. The duo left for America in late December 2006 to set up a meeting with Danny "The Vagrant" Vice regarding the chance to compete in the GWC.
