The Pulse Wrestling Federation (PWF) is an American professional wrestling e-federation, founded in 2009 by Tommy Bishop. From 2009 to 2011, the promotion was under the ownership of Tommy Bishop and promoted as the American Wrestling Federation (AWF) before being sold to Chimera Sports International, an American sports promotion company specializing in mixed martial arts and professional wrestling. It is currently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world, reaching 7 million viewers in the U.S. and broadcasting its shows to more than 100 countries. Like other professional wrestling promotions, PWF's shows do not feature legitimate sporting contests. Instead, its programs feature storyline-driven combat sport matches with predetermined outcomes and fighting maneuvers that are worked, all promoted as legitimate bouts.

PWF currently runs several wrestling shows each month throughout the Midwest and on the East Coast of North America. It has also held shows on the West Coast, in the United Kingdom, Japan and Canada. Annual shows include "SuperSlam," "Tournament of Kings," "Great American Scramble," "Summercade," "Soul Survivor," and "Starrcase"
(the last show of the calendar year).

History[]

Main article: History of AWF

American Wrestling Federation (2009)[]

In August of 2009, former Olympic Gold Medalist Tommy Bishop had decided to make the decision to form the AWF after being dissatisfied with the direction that the wrestling business as a whole was taking. So with enough money saved up from his days as an active wrestler, Bishop had decided to open the AWF and not even within the first week, loads of first time wrestlers and former world heavyweight champions in other promotions had jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the newfound company. The first episode of Monday Night Madness was held on August 31, 2009. The AWF went on to great heights becoming one of the most popular and well known feds before its demise in late June of 2010. Many wrestlers grew restless with odd decisions made on managements behalf. Although the company experienced a terrible fall it gave itself a legacy that will last for ever.

Wicked Wrestling Federation Inc./Traumatic Wrestling Entertainment (2010)[]

Walter South and Eddie North formed WWFI in May 2010 with several featured AWF alumni like The Flaming Red, Ripper, Chris Michaels, Twista XL, Surge and Tim Lucker, and new talents. WWFi folded and was resurrected as TWE in October 2010.

Pulse Wrestling Federation (2011-present)[]

Pulse Wrestling Federation opened its doors in July of 2011 as a continuation of AWF and TWE with Tommy Bishop at the helm, based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Style[]

Match outcomes are determined largely by the strength of a member's role play for their particular match, although there are sometimes occurrences where matches are decided based on an overarching storyline. Members of the federation are placed into matches by the creative staff, and these matches are then announced in the federation forums. Members are given time to create a role play regarding their match, and after the deadline has closed, these role plays are considered by the creative staff. The creative staff then votes on the outcome of the match after considering these role plays. The wrestler or team of wrestlers (in a tag team match) that does the better role play is selected to win the match. Following this, the results are turned over to match writers. These writers then create the match details. When all the matches have been composed, they are posted as a new television show, pay-per-view, or special.
