Omar "Dragon King" Azure, who sometimes also calls himself Ao Guang' or the "Blue Dragon", is a high flier, black belt in karate and a former championship-caliber kick boxer from Shanghai China, a city located on the eastern coast of China where the Yangtze River flows into the East China Sea, Omar IS well known for his distinctive face, and body paint.
He is most famous for his work with JCW - Japanese Championship Wrestling, He made his name with JCW where his excellent performances saw him become the longest reigning Six-Time Japanese World Heavyweight Champion, and one of the biggest stars in the promotion's history as well as one of the most talked about independent wrestlers in the whole country. Unsurprisingly he eventually outgrew JCW and started being seriously looked at by bigger companies. After ten successful years with the promotion in 2014 JCW decided to close their doors. November of 2017 there was a rumor of the reopening of JCW, will they reopen, and will the promotion’s biggest star return back home, only time will tell!
XCW eventually took the plunge and signed Omar Azure in 2017 as part of the rebuilding of their roster. September 3, 2017 at ‘Justice’ Omar Azure as the Dragon King defeated Gabriel Tuck and Dylan Erickson and became the XCW Heavyweight Champion until he was robbed the championship from Demon X and Sam Joseph at ‘Ignition Supershow II, Christmas Karnage’. 2017 was a big year for Omar Azure, he became the XCW Superstar and Face of the year and remained the company's figure head until the day they closed their doors in early January of 2018, never to avenge and regain the XCW World Heavyweight Championship.
Late February of 2018 the unsuspected happen the XCW face of the franchise signed a undisclosed contract to XCW's toughest competitor Riot Star Wrestling (RSW). His debut match will be at‘Anarchy 35’, going up against ‘Reverend’ Shane Mitchell. Will his World Wide success continue in 2018 in RSW, stay in tuned to find out!
