OWA Amicable Treason (2014) was a pay-per-view event presented by Online Wrestling Alliance. It took place in the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on March 30, 2014. It was the second event to take place under the Amicable Treason name, following the previous year's event.
The official theme song for the event was "So Sorry" by Shovelhook.
Background[]
The event was announced in February 2014, during the debut episode of OWA. The same night, World Heavyweight Champion Zack Richards defended his championship against the top contender Jeff Palmer, to determine who would carry the championship into Amicable Treason. The match was interrupted by a returning Julio Zapien, who attacked Richards, thus awarding him the win via disqualification.
After the show, it was announced that Zapien and Palmer would meet the following week to determine who would face Richards for the championship at Amicable Treason. That match was also interrupted when Richards and Angel attacked Zapien and Palmer. As a result of this, no challenger for the title had been named. During an interview, Palmer was attacked by Sarinyde -- who he would later wish to face in a match at Amicable Treason, giving Julio Zapien the World Title shot by default.
On the undercard, the OWA Women's Championship is set to be established, with the inaugural champion being the winner of a Battle Royal. Lucina, Jerri Brekke and Spitfire are so far confirmed to be participating in the match. Kairi Quinn was set to appear in the match, but this was later changed following her departure from the company. Angel challenged Daniel Strawberry to prove himself in the ring, which Strawberry accepted. It was also announced that Salty Tiger will take on Alex West.
After losing the title to Cash Morgan, Bryan Daniels intended to cash in his rematch clause for the European Championship the following week. However, General Manager Ellie Johnson had other plans. Harbouring some kind of personal grudge against Daniels, the GM stated that the former champion would have to wait until Amicable Treason to get his rematch. As expected, Morgan's agent Stu E. Dangerously will be in the European Champion's corner.
