Alexander Koresh (Also known as Nocturnal) is a renowned wrestler, famous for his stints in New Edge Wrestling, Riot Star Wrestling. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful wrestlers of all time, he has been inducted into the WWW, NEW and RSW Hall of Fames.
Early life[]
Alexander Koresh grew up on a small rural farm a few miles outside of Abilene, Texas. He was an odd child, who used to speak to an imaginary friend. It later turned out, Alexander had a multiple personality disorder and was speaking to himself.
On May 12th 1993 State Police stormed the farm they were tipped off it was part of a cult, which took part in human sacrifice. Alexander, his younger sister Emily, his father Joseph and two of his cousins Jebediah and Chastity were captured alive alongside another girl called Elena in a gruesome Police shootout which claimed the lives of 12 Police Officers and 4 of Alexander's family.
Alexander was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death. He was given the electric chair. However, the three attempts to execute him failed. American Law at the time meant that after the third attempt, the person could no longer be put to death as it constitutes Cruel and unusual punishment.
Unsure to what do with him, he was sent to England to the Hatton Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Warwickshire and underwent treatment. He became the model inmate and was released.
Wrestling Career[]
Alexander trained to be a wrestler and joined the GFed Network's Ultimate Fighting Wrestling as a member of the stable, "Lost Souls" under the guidance of his mentor Feral. It was at this point, Alexander began using the moniker Nocturnal.
Gfed Network[]
After UFW closed, Nocturnal toured the Gfed Network before settling at AJ Johnson's Destiny Wrestling Federation in 2004, where he feuded with Archon, Makeveli and other veterans who wanted to hold the new blood down. Under the guidance of his new manger Lyre, Nocturnal formed "SIX" with fellow DWF rookies Scorpion, Ghost Dog and Adam Champion.
Due to betrayals, injuries and retirements, SIX would have to undergo a reshuffle. The injured Adam Champion, the retired Ghost Dog and treacherous Scorpion were replaced by Panther and POS. Nocturnal also drafted his old friends of the Lost Souls.
Meanwhile news reached Nocturnal that his sister Emily had partaken in a well-received triple threat match against Sasha Tatshura and Isabella Thornton in Shootclub Wrestling Alliance. Upon hearing the news and the closure of DWF, it wasn't long before Nocturnal brought SIX to SWA. Nocturnal eclipsed his sister and became the promotion's only Grand Slam Champion.
Nocturnal also participated in Great Wrestling Action, Royal Horsemen and Brien Cage.
DWF reopened and Nocturnal quickly reformed SIX with new member British Pitbull along with three ex-SIX members, the Panther, Adam Champion and Ghost Dog. Nocturnal's most memorable DWF moment came at the Scars and Stripes Pay Per View where he defeated Johnny Vegas to become the DWF World Heavyweight Champion, a belt he would retain until it closed its doors again. He was also the DWF International Champion at the same time and the federation's hottest commodity.
News hit the internet that "The Silent Assassin" Brien Cage had surfaced in World Wide Wrestling. Determined the end the legacy of his nemesis, Nocturnal joined WWW. Joining with a faction called Executive Authority, within two weeks, Nocturnal captured the WWW Triad and the WWW Impact Championships. He later won the WWW Franchise Championship and held it Chain Reaction 05 where he was defeated by Tricky D in an electrified cage triple threat match, which also featured Brian Hart.
He then feuded with Deathstroke in a Best of Three series of matches. The third and deciding match was a buried alive match held in a graveyard. With the help of his henchmen Vampmon and Kenneth Dunn, Nocturnal was buried alive with his DWF World Heavyweight Championship belt. After the match, Nocturnal was assumed dead and he was posthumously inducted into WWW's Hall of Fame, which was accepted by his then wife Lyre Champion-Koresh
Three years later, Alexander Koresh made a shocking return to Augusta Championship Wrestling. He immediately feuded with Deathstroke, desperate to get his revenge. However, ACW closed shortly after.
Undeterred, Nocturnal followed Deathstroke to the Global Wrestling Federation and then left GWF to follow Deathstroke to GSWA. In a shocking twist, Nocturnal then joined forces with Deathstroke along with Brian Hart and joined the stable Lethal Weapons. However, the alliance did not last long as Brian Hart got injured and Deathstroke was released. Nocturnal went onto win the GSWA North Atlantic Championship and GSWA Television Championship before the federation found itself in financial trouble and closed.
Nocturnal joined the American Wrestling Federation and quickly won the AWF Hardcore Championship. This didn't last long as GWA enquired AWF and subsequently merged with four other federations to form the Global Wrestling Network.
Nocturnal was crowned the first ever GWN World Heavyweight Champion. At GWA : Worldwide from Manchester, England he faced J'dub Straight for the GWA World Heavyweight Championship and won that match bringing the belt back to his corner.
On GWA : Worldwide from Birmingham, England he got into a confrontation with the GWA owner Joey Falcone and was stripped of the GWA World Heavyweight title belt which on the same show was awarded to The Brian Magnum.
Feeling alone, Nocturnal formed the The Devil's Reapers with Skullcrusher and James Gabriel and they seemed to run rampage around the GWA. However, it wasn't until Mind Freak and the returning Deathstroke joined and the name change back to SIX did they make an impact. Deathstroke and Nocturnal ran rampage through GWA after Joey Falcone got his revenge by firing James Gabriel and Mind Freak and transferred Skullcrusher to the brand Thunder.
At GWA : Locked Up Nocturnal beat Royal Powerhouse in a brutal and extreme cage match to retain his GWN World Heavyweight Championship in one of the closest match of his career also on the same night he took on the GWA World Heavyweight Championship belt holder J'dub Straight and defeated him for the belt. J'dub retired from the GWA the next night and Brian Hart returned to the GWA and joined up with Deathstroke and Nocturnal in SIX.
The following GWN event saw Nocturnal lose his coveted GWN World title to Al Envy in a controversial ending.
GWA then closed its doors and Nocturnal came to UCW for one final run. He attempted to retire but his friends Deathstroke and Brian Hart turned on him and attempted to finish his career by breaking his neck. It was also at this event that his wife turned on him and joined with Deathstroke.
After being discharged from hospital, he form an alliance with Archon and Royal Powerhouse and faced The Horsemen in a 3 on 3 tag match at Universal Championship Wrestling: Fall Brawl. He debuted his new move "The Meltdown" and used it to win the match for his team. Also on that night he formed the group "Penance" with his team members and Ace Styles. They were later joined by Sean Libby, Lolli Hamilton, Evan Johnson and The Ringleader.
Nocturnal called out his Deathstroke to a Best of Five series of matches in the UCW but only got as far as 1-1 when Deathstroke and the rest of his Horsemen quit the company.
AJ Johnson had returned from his retirement and reopened the DWF so Nocturnal quit all his promotions to go back to where it all started. His first match back there was against the man that had brought him to the DWF in the first place, the Ringleader. It was the first DWF World Heavyweight Champion versus the last DWF World Heavyweight Champion. Nocturnal was victorioius.
New Edge Wrestling[]
Nocturnal was then recruited by Jesse Styles to work for New Edge Wrestling. Here he brought back together Brian Hart and Deathstroke to reform SIX with Aurora Darkwood, Judas Dathan, Royal Powerhouse, the Joka and Morbid Wolf. Having lost to Adrien Specter in a Texas Hangman's match at NEW: Tension in Texas he lost control of SIX to Adrien Specter.
Nocturnal gained further notoriety when he faced TEW World Heavyweight Champion Dave McDave who had just been signed by NEW. Nocturnal defeated him and due to the severity of the injuries sustained at the event, Dave McDave was taken out of action.
In 2010, Nocturnal qualified for the Terrordome Match at Justice 3, which was to unify the NEW Ignite and NEW Collision World Heavyweight Championships. However, the match was won by Triple X.
He formed the cRu with Triple X, Al Envy, Johnny Stylez, Aurora Deadwood and Apathy.
In 2011, NEW and Pugh Championship Wrestling went into partnership together and a draft was picked to decide which Company each wrestler would go to. Nocturnal was PCW's 9th draft pick.
The draft would be short lived as a contractual dispute saw the NEW roster split in half with half the roster moving to Underground Pro Wrestling. UPW and NEW Rebirth would run simultaneously with Alexander Koresh becoming the UPW World Champion and Venessa winning a battle royal for the newly created NEW Ignite Championship. After an agreement between XXX and Jesse Styles, NEW Rebirth would close and Jesse Styles would become co-owner of UPW.
In April 2012, XXX stepped down as co-owner of UPW and the decision was made to close the federation and restart once more as New Edge Wrestling on the Fedwars network. Former UPW President, Matt Slater decided to take over UPW but his efforts were thwarted and he instead formed Ascension Championship Wrestling.
Nocturnal was initially exclusive to Ascension and main event the promotion's first show, Initiative 1, where he defeated. Frank Finelli. At ACW: Rise Above, Nocturnal defeated Orlando Ocean in a 60-Minute Iron Man Match to capture the ACW Ultimate Championship However, Nocturnal decided to jump ship and rejoin NEW, much to the anger of the ACW staff. His last match was a defeat to Poppa K at Initiative 8.
Nocturnal was more interested in the NEW World Heavyweight Championship. The closest he got was in October 2012 when he reached the final of the Gold Rush Tournament, he was defeated in a Triple Threat Match by Chef Roberto. The other competitor in the match was Judas Dathan. New Edge Wrestling would take a break, partially due to the owner Jesse Styles going to prison for child grooming.
In December, Jesse Styles returned from prison and reopened NEW. He stripped Chef Roberto of the world championship. A new tournament was held with Nocturnal becoming the new World Champion at Tension in Texas after defeating Valora and Colt in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match
In 2013, Nocturnal would form Unstable with Seth Iser. The two combined well and captured the NEW Tag Team Championships after defeating the Daughters Of Darkness (Valora & Apathy) at Ignite 141. They would capture the NEW Tag Team Championships on a further two occasions.
In 2014, Nocturnal was inducted in the NEW Hall of Fame.
Nocturnal was released just months after his induction in February 2015 after a contractual dispute with management.
Riot Star Wrestling[]
In late 2014, Nocturnal also joined Riot Star Wrestling. He was present for the promotion's first event RSW Presents: Inception, where he defeated Derren Archer in a bloody No Disqualification, Falls Count Anywhere match. At Anarchy 2, he captured the RSW World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Morcant "dim" Davis. At RSW Presents: Absolution, Morcant "dim" Davis would win the championship back.
The championship would change hands again and Nocturnal would become a second champion when he won the championship back from Morcant "dim" Davis at RSW Presents: "Riot Rules" Elimination in a "Riot's Rules" Ladder Elimination Match, which also featured Chris Parsons, and Andrew Morgan.
He would lose the RSW World Heavyweight Championship at RSW Presents: The Rapture to Ruby Walsh in a Passion of the Christ" Match. However, on the same show he would capture the Gate City Wrestling Hybrid Championship after defeating Chris Parsons and Kintaru.
In 2015, Nocturnal was inducted into the RSW Hall of Fame.
