The No Way Out Match or NWO is a professional wrestling structure match held in the Elite Answers Wrestling Promotion.

History[]

Origins[]

The No Way Out Match was created by Robbie V years prior to joining Extreme Answers Wrestling by combining ideas from WarGames, Hell In A Cell, and the Elimination Chamber. Prior to the debut of the No Way Out Match, EAW only had variations of the Steel Cage Match, the Hell In A Cell match, and their own spin on the Elimination Chamber: The Extreme Elimination Chamber.

The No Way Out Match was brought to fruition in late 2013 when a Ladder Match for the EAW World Heavyweight Championship between defending Champion, Zack Crash, and Hades The Hellraiser ended in controversy after interferences from Cy Henderson, Brian Daniels, and Cy Henderson. On the following Showdown, it was announced that Jacob Senn would be punished for his intervening by forcing to share his Number One Contender spot for the World Heavyweight Championship with four other competitors: Hades The Hellraiser, Brian Daniels, Cy Henderson, and Devan Dubian in the debut of the No Way Out Match at the upcoming Territorial Invasion event.

Injuries[]

All six competitors in the first No Way Out Match suffered injuries, but the only serious one occurred near the end of the bout when Jacob Senn grew overly frustrated with a tenacious Zack Crash; opting to abandon his attempt to win the match itself and instead snapped Zack's previously broken arm with a Fujiwara Armbar.

Structure[]

One of the Secondary Cells.

The structure itself is a cell at a height of 20 feet, and made completely out of prison bars instead of the common mesh. There are four sides, a roof, and no door. In each corner, there are four smaller cells, also made of prison bars, with chains connected to the roof of each one so all four can be elevated to the top four corners of the structure. The structure has enough room for competitors to battle outside of the ring, but there are no mats to protect their bodies, only exposed cement. There are various weapons under the ring much like any other match. There are absolutely no turnbuckle pads inside the ring either.

Rules[]

The match will go in a Gauntlet fashion, but completely ends on one fall. Two competitors will compete until the time limit has expired, allowing the next competitor to enter until all six have joined the match, at which point pinfalls and submissions will become allowed for any of the six to capture the victory. Any competitor may use any weapons, cells, or the environment around there (exposed turnbuckles and the exposed floor) to capture the win. A fall can only be counted if it takes place inside the ring.

How It Works:

Step 1 – How each entrant is chosen is undefined, they can be in a certain order or randomized. Before the NWO itself is lowered, the four smaller cells (known as "Secondary Cells") are first lowered to the ground. The four men not beginning the match will each take a cell until all four are locked in (through electronic locks).

Step 2 – The two men set to begin the contest will then make their way out to the ring. Once they are inside the ring, the structure (known as the "Primary Cell") will then lower to the ground as the four smaller cells elevate until they are in the top four corners of the structure. The match may officially begin.

Step 3 – As mentioned earlier, the two competitors will begin the match as the other four competitors remain elevated in their cells in the top corners of the NWO to avoid any interference during the match. Once the clock has run up (after an undefined amount of time) one of the other four competitors will be randomly picked and lowered down to the ground. Their cell will open and they will be free to compete in the match. This cycle continues until either all six competitors have entered the match, at which time pinfalls and submissions will become available to end the match.
