Nero (aka The Great & Almighty Nero) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to the Extreme Universal Wrestling Corporation (EUWC). Aside from wrestling, Nero is also the host of the weekly "Sunday Nero Live" segment on EUWC's flagship broadcasts (Mainframe) and also periodically hosts EUWC Headliner alongside Staci Seymore.

Nero has been a part of the EUWC since its rebirth in 2003 and has been a former 3-time World Tag Team Champion (alongside Big G/Lynch Garrison), and has held the United States and World Heavyweight Championships in the EUWC.

Biography[]

Not much is known about Nero's past as there werent many records. His real name is still unknown but accounts by suppossed classmates, friends, colleagues etc, reflect that Nero had a rich family background in the media industry. Nero was also involved in Media Sciences in his college years where he was studying for his Degree in Mass Communications, though which year he graduated is still not discernable. This background is more attributable to his charismatic persona that he exhibits in the EUWC.

Globetrotting and Interest in Professional Wrestling[]

After college, Nero allegedly decided to head out into the world by touring across Europe, Middle East and Asia. All the way from belfast to Tokyo, Nero discovered a constant interest of the people in professional wrestling, particularly the more aerial and martial-arts driven competitors. Nero spent a better part of his time in Japan learning how to perform martial-arts wrestling, while also using his flair for charisma to promote several independent wrestling shows to a Western audience. Nero then turned into a more negative role as he became more annoying, thus being billed by broadcasters as the "American Crybaby". While spouting a lot of arrogance, Nero was nevertheless not as skilled as other competitors were, which required him to train and work harder.

Meeting Lynch Garrison[]

It was during this time that Nero befriended "The Gigantic" Lynch Garrison, who originally hailed from Detroit. Weighing in at 370 lbs, Nero saw this as an opportunity to get some stroke and they subsequently joined together as a tag team. The duo of Nero and Garrison then created a stir in Tokyo as the combination of speed and power saw the both of them become a destructive force on the tag team circuit. This also gave Nero an opportunity to improve his skills overall, now that he could last longer in matches with the aid of his partner. It is alleged that both Nero and Garrison continued their reign of terror in the tag team circuit for a better part of 2 years before finally heading back to USA.

Return to USA[]

Upon returning to the USA, Nero decided to scout the independent wrestling circuit in New Jersey. Using his connections in the media, Nero helped a few promotions with presentation and audience attendance in the early 2000s. Nero also brought Lynch Garrison along with him and both continued their antics in the tag team division.

Extreme Universal Wrestling Corporation[]

It was on one of these events that Nero caught wind of the Extreme Universal Championship Wrestling reopening in 2003. Nero and Garrison visited the EUWC offices in order to sign up and while the management was impressed with their abilities, they felt that they needed a certain 'It' factor that could differ them from the pack. Rumor has it that this was when Nero started berating each and every member of the selection team and all other wrestlers here for the tryouts. Nero's rant caught the attention of EUWC CEO Matt Pickstock, who thoroughly enjoyed Nero's tirade and signed up the duo immediately, upon the condition that Nero would mould this team into a more presentable outfit. Nero then worked on a repackaging of their team and presented his idea to both Pickstock and Garrison, who were immediately on board with it.

EUWC Tag Team Champions & The Regime[]

The EUWC reopened in early 2003 and the duo debuted as Nero & Big G. Entering with MC Hammer's "You cant Touch This", the fun-loving hip hop duo of Nero, the wisecracking and arrogant martial artist who got into trouble with his loud mouth, and Big G, Nero's insurance policy or muscle man. The duo made waves again in the tag team division after winning the Tag Team Championships after a tournament that culminated in the finals at Xodus by defeating Sean Taylor and Scott Samson.

Nero's style of badmouthing all his competitors before matches, while combining his martial-arts prowess with Big G's power moves kept the team on the top of the tag team division as they held the titles for 28 days before losing them to Scott Samson, who had then teamed up with his friend T-Charger.

It was after this loss that Nero & Big G joined Matt Pickstock's 'Regime' of superstars, teaming up with Paul Doom and Samuel Roundtree. Nero saw this as a tremendous opportunity to regain the tag team titles and also provided ever-ready support to Pickstock. Soon enough, Nero & Big G recaptured the Tag Team titles at Ultra Brawl V by defeating then champions The Action Faction and held the titles for another 50 days.

Injury, Hiatus, and Return[]

Nero & Big G lost the tag team Championships to Buck Naked & Samuel Roundtree after Nero was injured at the hands of a masked Paul Doom, after Doom was dropped from Pickstock's regime. Doom hit Nero with a military press drop on a carr hood which put Nero out of action for a few months and left Big G to revert to his old persona of Lynch Garrison. During his hiatus, Nero recovered and started training more extensively to make his return to the EUWC.

Nero returned at Uprising as Garrison introduced him as the 4th person in an Apocalype vs. Regime 8-man Tag match. Nero joined his partner Garrison in the Regime Team alongside Jay Smash and Lord Alucard as they faced Angel of Death, Sean Taylor, T-Charger and Major Action. Nero got the first fall as he eliminated Major Action, but was subsequently eliminated by Sean Taylor via rollup.

After returning to Mainfraime, Matt Pickstock regretfully informed Nero that his doctor had only provided clearance for wrestling at Uprising only, therefore Nero could still not compete on any further shows. Nero then utilized his time by managing Lynch Garrison, whom he helped win the International Championship.

Synn Gauntlet and final Tag Team Title reign[]

Nero had his first singles match accidentally as he was put in a match against the new World Heavyweight Champion Holocaust. Though clearly overmatched, Nero stood his ground before eventually being pinned. This match however, put Nero in the spotlight for more singles matches, so while Garrison was busy with the International Championship, Nero decided to get himself singles gold by participating in the Synn Gauntlet organized by the reigning US Champion Sevyn. Nero competed in some pivotal matches but was deliberately disqualified after interference from Sevyn to restrain his advancement.

Nero grew frustrated over this and eventually re-teamed with his partner Garrison to get a Tag Team title shot. Through some maneuvering, Nero had himself appointed as the referee for the tag team title finals at Ultra Brawl VI, featuring the Moundfields vs. the Diabolical Forces. As Nero made the count in favor of the Diabolical Forces, Nero shocked everyone when he had Garrison appear from behind the new champions and levelled them with a double chokeslam. Garrison then covered the fallen champions as Nero, still draped in the referee shirt, counted the 123 to award the Tag Team Championships to Garrison and himself, using their unused tag title shot and thus gaining a measure of revenge against Sevyn.

Their final title reign saw a feud with Team Danger, who injured the champions in their first statement. Later on, right before their scheduled match at Bloodbath, Nero & Garrison bet their EUWC contracts along with the titles if they lost. Subsequently, Team Danger defeated the champs, thus ending the 49 day reign of Nero & Big G, totalling to 127 days in 3 reigns for the EUWC Tag Team Championships. This also meant that both Nero & Big G had to leave the EUWC on September 12, 2004.

Sunday Nero LIVE & EUWC Headliner[]

SNL1

Splash for SNL

Nero spent a better part of 2004 to work on new ideas in the media industry and wrestling promotions. Shortly in spring of 2005, Nero was contacted by Matt Pickstock who wanted Nero to return as a singles competitor. Thus Nero finally shed off his tag team association with Garrison to overturn his stipulation from Blood Bath 2004. However, Nero decided to bring something new to the table, and on Summer Sizzler, debuted his new talk show feature titled Sunday Nero LIVE! Using Sunday Nero LIVE! (SNL), Nero provided more entertainment to the audience by promoting his latest matches, points of view, and also regularly interviewing a prominent guest from the EUWC. This was also where Nero started referring to himself as the "Great & Almighty Nero" and portraying a more holier than thou image of himself. After the roster split, SNL became an exclusive show for MainfFrame, which aired on Sunday nights. SNL has been the launching pad of several of Nero's future feuds with superstars such as Classy Mike C, Angel of Death, Jay Smash, and also helped launch some of the newer stars such as Sean Jackson, Nick Frost, TTO, Matt Falcon, Chris Comet and Cobris Grayson.

HEADLINER

Later, Nero was also co-hosted an exclusive for EUWC.com titled EUWC Headliner, a satirical based news update show featuring himself and Staci Seymore. Together, Nero and Staci would recap events happening in the wrestling industry, with particular focus to EUWC happenings. Nero would provide his 'expert' opinions on the happenings in and around the EUWC, and while he initially resented having to work alongside Staci, the pair got along pretty well. On one occasion, Nero excused for an absent Staci when he revealed that she had food poisoning after eating a suspicious burger.

EUWC U.S. Championship[]

Mike aod nero

US Title 3-way

Nero used SNL to promote an ongoing feud between Classy Mike C and the reigning U.S. Champion Samuel Roundtree, specifically their Empty Arena match which Nero criticized as being a total waste of time. After Mike C captured the U.S. title, Nero challenged Mike C on an edition of SNL when Angel of Death also expressed his interest. This lead to a Triple Threat match at Blood Bath 2005 when Nero captured the U.S. title, his first singles title in wrestling. It was also on the same night that he had his first altercation with hisTakeDown/BlackOut counterpart, the EUWC International Champion Rocko Daymon, when both champions were pinning 2 opponents in the Blood bath match. While the referee made a 3 count for Daymon, Nero's opponent kicked out before the three, which led to Nero angrily attacking Daymon in the match.

Nero held the U.S. Championship and thus becoming Mainframe's Premier Champion. However, Nero decided to modify the U.S. Title into an N-Style title, paying homage to himself. Nero defended the championship successfully against Nick Frost and Sean Jackson before losing the belt to Matt Falcon. This was also the time when Lynch Garrison had returned to the EUWC, causing Nero a lot of grief as his old partner became Money in the Bank and contender to his title. This match never materialized as Garrison was later drafted to TakeDown/BlackOut and Nero eventually lost the belt to Falcon.

Team Alucard vs. Pickstock's Army[]

Ultwar

Ultimate WAR Match

Nero was involved in yet another turf war, this time however, he was on opposing sides to Pickstock's Army as he (accidentally) allied himself with the co-GM Lord Alucard. In a small personal rivalry emanating from this war, Nero took up an issue with Texas Lightning after TL brutally assaulted Nero's favorite interviewer Staci Seymore and also spilling hot coffee over her in the process. Nero defeated Texas Lightning one on one, which eventually had Texas Lightning fired from the EUWC.

In the larger scale, Nero, along with Paul Doom, Rocko Daymon and John Doe, took on Classy Mike C, Texas Lightning, Buck Naked & Samuel Roundtree in an Ultimate War match at Summer Sizzler 2006. Nero assisted his team in winning the match and therefore earned Lord Alucard complete control over the main events of Mainframe for a month. This would prove beneficial to Nero as he got himself into a 6-man Elimination Chamber match at Ultra Brawl VIII. Nero was the fourth entrant into the match and eliminated Texas Lightning with the Nero Kick. Nero outlasted the reigning World Champion Adam Benjamin, who was the third person to be eliminated, however Nero was the second last person eliminated after Rocko Daymon hit Nero with a Daymonplex off the top of the chamber.

Chad Dupree Memorial & World Heavyweight Championship[]

Smash vs. Nero at Onslaught

A month after Ultra Brawl, Nero participated in the annual Chad Dupree Memorial Tournament, with the winner receiving the Chad Dupree Memorial Cup and also a World Title match. Nero won all his quarter final and semi final matches till he defeated Violent K in the finals to win the cup and also the title shot. Nero would then challenge the then champion Jay Smash, in a heated rivalry of words where both Smash and Nero could simply not stand one another. Jay Smash and Nero faced off at Onslaught in an epic match where Nero finally achieved victory and the gold after he defeated Jay Smash to become World Heavyweight Champion for the first time.

Nero's appearance as World Champion

Nero's major PPV title defense was at Superiority IV, when he defended the title against former champions Lord Alucard and Jay Smash in a Triple Terror match. The match held great significance as Nero was all set to break the record for Longest Reigning World Champion, ironically mirrored by his competitors Jay Smash (164 days) and Lord Alucard (record holder at 168 days). While the match itself was fiercely contested, it ended in a no-contest when Dan Ryan, Rocko Daymon and Adam Benjamin interfered in the match by attacking all three competitors. The match had no result and Nero retained the World Championship.

During his reign as World Champion, Nero had self-personified himself as the true model of a World Champion, claiming "its not the belt that makes the champion, its the champion that makes the belt." This was the mentality that Nero had when he faced off against his Blackout counterpart, the EUWC Champion Hawkeye in a title unification match at Ultra Brawl IX. The match itself ended in a draw when members of both the Blackout and Main Frame rosters interfered stopping the match. After the match, Matt Pickstock emerged claiming that both titles had been unified and that one Unified Championship was vacant. A new Champion would be crowned at the upcoming annual Chad Dupree Memorial Cup, thus stripping both Nero and Hawkeye from their titles. However, Nero would achieve the record for Longest Reinging World Champion with 208 days on the counter till the date he was stripped of the title.

Frustrated, Nero started berating his competition once again heading into the Chad Dupree Memorial, claiming not only that he was an uncrowned champion after not having los the title legitimately, but even going as far to claiming that Chad Dupree himself would be disgusted after watching Nero being stripped of the title, and not getting a direct title shot. At the event, Nero defeated Hawkeye in a matter of seconds with a Nero Kick in the first round and followed up by defeating Jay Smash with the Buzzcutter in the quarter final. However, Nero lost the semi final to veteran STEALTH, who eventually went on to win the tournament and the World Heavyweight Championship.

BloodBath and Team Danger[]

Nero re-entered his rivalry with Team Danger from 2004 when he was pitted in a match against them in the Tag Team Titles Tournament. However, without a partner, Nero was at a disadvantage and surprising decided to enter the match all by himself. Regardless, Nero was indeed outnumbered and lost the match. Nero would not be done however, as he cost TD their next match against Alucard and Doom. Nero then got a match at BloodBath against any one member of Team Danger, with the other member suspended high in a cage above the ring. However, as the match was about to start, Matt Pickstock tricked Nero by putting TD manager Kelly Evans into the cage, leaving Tyrone Walker outside the ring and Stephen Greer facing Nero. Aper the match stipulations, one member of Team Danger must enter the cage to be suspended above the ring and Team Danger had chosen Kelly Evans, a contracted member of Team Danger. Despite repeated interruptions by Walker, Nero kept the mach as balanaced as possible till the end when Greer reversed a Buzz Cutter and attempted a Hellfire Lariat. However, Nero leapt into the air and grabbed the bottom of the hanging cage, pulling himself out of harm's way, reeling Greer out of control into the ropes. Nero then dropped into the ring to hit the Nero Kick for the win!

Nero's victory was short-lived however, as he was attacked by TD post match and TD wrapped a noose around Nero's neck. Walker handed the other end of the rope to Kelly Evans, who was still suspended above the ring. She tied off the noose on the cage and jumped off, as the cage started raising upwards with Nero still strung up! EUWC Security finally arrived to rescue Nero and freed him from the noose, as Nero was gasping for air with a bruised throat. Nero alleges that it was Pickstock who had orchestrated this entire farce as TD performed another 'execution', similar to stabbing Sean Taylor circa 2004.

Despite the injuries sustained, Nero had still to compete in the annual 20 Man BloodBath Cage match. The winner would be awarded the Money-In-The-Bank Contract for the World Heavyweight Championship. Nero entered at #13 and was the last person eliminated in the match after Beast interfered and grabbed Nero by the throat and delivered a Thunderous Chokeslam from the Top of the Cage. The referee stopped the match for fear of injury to Nero, awarding the match to Cobris Grayson.

Interpromotional Appearances during EUWC[]

WWC Continental Championship[]

Nero represented the EUWC in an interpromotional agreement between EUWC and WWC in 2006 as he challenged the WWC Continental Champion "The Vagabond" R.J. Harris on one occasion. Their first match was at EUWC Ultra Brawl VII when Nero defeated Harris by disqualification due to interference by Angel of Death, thus allowing Harris to retain their title. Nero was scheduled to have a rematch at WWC's Riot PPV against Harris, however that event was cancelled without notice.

TEAM & ENN Tournament of Champions 2006[]

In a unique setting, the Tournament of Champions showcased a tournament featuring reigning and past champions from participating wrestling promotions in 2006. As then U.S. Champion, Nero participated in the tournament to represent the EUWC along with Classy Mike C (EUWC World Heavyweight Champion), Sean Taylor (most current former EUWC World Champion), Rocko Daymon (EUWC International Champion), Cuchulain (EUWC North American Champion) and John Doe (EUWC European Champion). Nero earned top points in the EUWC contingent as he scored 202 points in total.

Appearances in other Media[]

EUWC Annual Awards (MC)[]

During his first hiatus, Nero was selected as the Master of Ceremonies for EUWC's Annual Awards in 2003. Nero presented the entire show supported by WWE superstars and also grabbed the award for "Best Tag Team" along with Big G/Lynch Garrison.

The film saw Nero engaged in plot devices such as the "Not the Nero Wagon", interacting with John Cena & Christian, and finally squaring off with Hulk Hogan in a handycap match alongside Sean Taylor.

Knights Errant (Novel)[]

Nero in Knights Errant

Nero has been featured in the ongoing EUWC novel "Knights Errant", which presents a fictional view following the events after Blood Bath 2008. Nero has been depicted as continuing his feud with Wake All Reverie, particularly Beast, who had been constantly interfered in his matches. Nero finally got the better of Beast on Ultra Brawl X in a straight one-on-one match. Nero also has a chapter to himself in the series as he interviewed Lynch Garrison who was embroiled in controversy with Lord Alucard.

Being Impusive[]

Nero was a part of the one-shot story "Being Impulsive", based on a "What If" scenario, in which Sean Taylor, known mostly for his carefulness and adherence to the rules, suddenly starts acting on impulse and kills nearly all of the EUWC Superstars.

Relentless[]

Nero appears in the 7-chapter novellete titled "Relentless" focusing primarily on Sean Taylor's success as the World Heavyweight Champion and the love of his life by his side. But his life turns upside down when an unknown foe enters his life to make it miserable, as he tries to dispose off any of the threats he feels keep Taylor off his game. Nero is also classified as a threat, when the stranger refers to him as "the Distraction".

EUWC Video Game Titles[]

Nero has been an avid video game enthusiast who has used EUWC Video Games to promote some of his matches. Nero has also provided product placement for several EUWC Video Game titles in many of his feature promos.

Memorable Rivalries[]

vs. Sean Taylor[]

Nero and Sean Taylor faced off in both their first ever match in the EUWC. While Nero had pinned Sean Taylor first, Taylor used the Rulebook to overturn the decision and had the match restarted, which ironically Nero won anyway, letting Nero boast everytime that he's pinned Sean Taylor twice on the same night. Both of them also confronted each other during the EUWC Xodus PPV as they were parts of opposing teams contending for the EUWC World Tag Team Championships. It is widely regarded that both Taylor and Nero are equals of sorts at opposite ends of the spectrum, however they've only had a heated rivalry in words and less matches.

vs. Classy Mike C[]

Nero and Mike C first interacted on an episode of SNL when Nero berated Mike C for losing to Samuel Roundtree. Their next meeting was after Mike C had won the U.S. Championship from Roundtree and shortly after dropped the belt to Nero in a triple threat match. They faced off again during the Ultimate War match with Mike C leading Pickstock's Army and Nero a part of Team Alucard. Mike C also holds the highest number of appearances on Sunday Nero LIVE!, prompting Nero to pay tribute to "the sixth time you've (Mike C) ruined... I mean, appeared on SNL".

vs. Matt Falcon[]

Matt Falcon had an ongoing rivalry with Money in the Bank Winner Lynch Garrison, after Falcon alleged that Garrison stole his title shot at the last minute. This feud also involved Nero as he was then U.S. Champion. When Falcon beat Garrison for the title shot, he started challenging Nero, which led to a series of altercations between them, including a Pick Your Poison series as well. Nero lost the title to Matt Falcon at Malicious Intent.

vs. Texas Lightning[]

Nero was furious with Texas Lightning after TL had brutally assaulted Nero's favorite interviewer Staci Seymore, and also spilling hot coffee over her in the process. Nero firstly faced Texas Lightning in the Ultimate War Match at Summer Sizzler, effectively eliminating him. Nero then defeated Texas Lightning one on one, which eventually had Texas Lightning fired from the EUWC.

vs. Jay Smash[]

Nero has been very vocal of Jay Smash's short title reigns and criticized his "gloom mode" everytime he lost the title. Furthermore, Jay Smash has also interfered in many of Nero's title matches in the past, costing Nero the World Title. Their most epic encounter took place at Onslaught when Nero finally defeated Jay Smash one-on-one to be crowned the World Heavyweight Champion.

vs. Team Danger[]

As then Tag Team Champions, Nero and Big G were attacked by Team Danger heading into their match. In their tag title defense, Nero & Big G had also put up their EUWC contracts on the line in case if they lost the belts, which Team Danger won, thus forcing Nero & Big G to exit the EUWC. Team Danger returned to EUWC in 2008 and rekindled their feud with Nero this time, leading to a match at BloodBath 2008 where Nero defeated Stephen Greer. However, TD attacked Nero after the match, literally hanging him from a noose in the ring.
