NIWA Night of Death is an annual supershow put on by the National Internet Wrestling Alliance. It is held in February. The inaugural Night of Death was held in 2009.

History[]

2000s[]

The inaugural Night of Death was held on February 27, 2009 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The event featured eight matches in total with three of them being title matches. In a match for the NIWA World Women's Championship, Sonya Blade was able to defeat Sheik. Peter Pan successfully defended the NIWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship against Jet Li. Zangief was able to retain the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship against Chuck Norris via disqualification after the ref thought Norris laid out Zangief with a steel chair.

2010s[]

Night of Death 2011 was held on February 25, 2011 at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, CA. The event featured seven matches in total with three of them being title matches. In a Triangle Ladder Match for the NIWA World Tag Team Championship, the Dudley Nephews was able to defeat both Super Mario Bros. and the Warios. Due to the pre-match stipulation, both the Super Mario Bros. and the Warios are out of title contention until someone defeat the Dudley Nephews. Xena, Warrior Princess defeated "Narcissist" Blossom to win the NIWA World Women's Championship with help from Buttercup. Drew McIntyre was able to retain the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship against both Blitz and Peter Pan in a Triple Threat Match by getting the pinfall on Blitz.

Night of Death 2012 was held on February 24, 2012 at the Oklahoma City Arena in Oklahoma City, OK. The event featured eight matches in total with three of them being title matches. In a match for the Unified NIWA/EMW World Women's Tag Team Championship, The Wayans Brothers was able to defeat Spider-Man and Peter Pan. James Bond successfully defended the NIWA North American Championship against Shelton Benjamin. Xena, Warrior Princess was able to retain the NIWA World Women's Championship against Dasha Fedorich.

Night of Death 2013 was held on March 1, 2013 at the Rose Garden in Portland, OR. The event featured eight matches in total with six of them being title matches. "The Trendkiller" Fozzie Osbourne defeated Johnny Bravo in a Hardcore Match to become a 6x NIWA World Brass Knuckles Champion and retired it after burning it in a trash can.

Night of Death 2014 was held on February 21, 2014 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, FL. The event featured six matches with two of them being title matches. Sheik continues her streak as NIWA World Women's Champion by defeating Molly Holly and "The Wrestling Badass" Shelton Benjamin retaining the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship over Shadow the Hedgehog inside Hell In A Cell due to interference by EMW World Heavyweight Champion Chad Johnson and The Chase Brothers.
