The Money in the Bank Dragon Match is a professional wrestling ladder match held by the National Internet Wrestling Alliance (NIWA). It is not just any ladder match. Instead of having standard ropes, they are replaced with barbwire ropes make the match even that more dangerous. The match features between six and ten of the NIWA's superstars, with the objective being to retrieve a briefcase that is suspended 20 feet above the ring. The briefcase can be cashed for any of the mens singles championship, but they usually cash it in for a shot at the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship. The contract is valid for one year and the briefcase holder is dubbed "Mr. Money in the Bank."

The Money in the Bank dragon match was first contested in 2009 at Clash of the Titans. first winner of the Money in the Bank dragon match was "007" James Bond. Due to the NIWA being on hiatus in in the early part of 2010, there was no Money in the bank dragon match held. It made its' epic return in 2011 at Clash of the Titans II.

History[]

2009[]

It was announced on May 30, 2009 from the NIWA Headquarters that a Money in the Bank Ladder Match would take place at Clash of the Titans. But during that announcement, it was announced that it would be a Money in the Bank Dragon Match in which the traditional ring ropes would be changed and barbwire would be used instead. This made the match more brutal and dangerous. Qualifying matches were then held over next few weeks leading up to Clash of the Titans. Mario, Link, "The Trendkiller" Fozzie Osbourne, Captain Jack Sparrow, Luigi, "007" James Bond, Jet Li, and Max Payne all qualified for the inaugural match. It was Bond who would win the match and would carry around the briefcase for over six months. But during that six months, "The Trendkiller" Fozzie Osbourne would take the briefcase from Bond and use that as a means to repeatedly attack him throughout the Sand and Tour. Finally a match between Osbourne who then the NIWA World Brass Knuckles Champion put the championship on the line in match where if he won then he would win the Money in the Bank briefcase, but if he lost the briefcase would return to Bond and he would lose the NIWA World Brass Knuckles Championship also. At Beach Wars 2009, Bond would defeat Osbourne to get back the briefcase and become the next NIWA World Brass Knuckles Champion. Bond would cash in the contract at EMW/NIWA Supreme Showdown on November 7, 2009 defeating Terrell Owens in 35 seconds to become the next NIWA World Heavyweight Champion.

2011[]

The qualifying matches for the second Money in the Bank Dragon Match at Clash of the Titans II started on the March 26, 2011 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown. Those matches were held over next few week leading up to NIWA's biggest event. Link, "007" James Bond, Spider-Man, Jerry Lynn, "The Trendkiller" Fozzie Osbourne, Johnny Bravo, and Wario. "The Trendkiller" Fozzie Osbourne and Johnny Bravo were disqualified due to both men not being able to answer the ten count in their qualifying match against each other. Wario qualified due to winning a fatal four-way between Mario, Waluigi, Luigi, and himself by getting the pin on Luigi. All eight men competed in an eight man over the top rope battle royal on the April 23 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown. The eighth participant of match was none other than Ganondorf. Link won the match and gained momentum just six days before Clash of the Titans II. During the Money in the Bank Dragon Match at Clash of Titans II, it was chaos and anarchy all over the ring. In the end, it was Link won the match and holder of the NIWA Money in the Bank briefcase and has a year to cash it in. Link's contract got stoled from Ganondorf on an edition of Saturday Night Slam in November. Ganondorf tried to cashed in the contract after failed to win back the NIWA world heavyweight title but Link made his return and cost Ganondorf the opportuntly to do so.

2012[]

The qualifying matches for the third Money in the Bank Dragon Match at Clash of the Titans III started on the March 24, 2012 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown. Peter Pan, Johnny Bravo, Shelton Benjamin, Ganondorf, Link, and "007" James Bond. Johnny Bravo qualified due to winning a champion vs. champion match against Fozzie Osbourne after Spider-Man cause a distraction on Osbourne. "007" James Bond qualified by winning a 20 Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal on the April 7 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown. Throughout the upcoming weeks to the events, the participants gained momentum for the match. In the Money in the Bank Dragon Match at Clash of the Titans III, it was all hell breaking loose all over the ring and outside of the ring as well. In the end, it was Peter Pan won the match and holder of the NIWA Money in the Bank briefcase. Pan would cash in the contract at the October 6 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Slam after Blitz forced Shadow to give him the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship and Blitz got laid out by a Norris Kick from Chuck Norris in 13 seconds to win the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship.

2013[]

The qualifying matches for the fourth Money in the Bank Dragon Match at Clash of the Titans IV started on the March 23, 2013 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown. "007" James Bond, Tommy Vercetti, Fozzie Osbourne, Johnny Bravo, Chad OchoCinco, and Shelton Benjamin all qualified for the match. At Clash of the Titans IV, "007" James Bond came out as the victor, making him the only individual to win two Money In The Bank Dragon Matches in NIWA history. On the May 4 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown, he announced that he will cashing in his briefcase at Annualversary V. Bond cashed in his title shot at Annualversary V and defeated Chuck Norris to become the new NIWA World Heavyweight Champion and become the first person to cashed in his MITB shot successful twice.

2014[]

The participants for the fifth Money in the Bank Dragon Match at Clash of the Titans IV announced on the March 22 edition of NIWA Saturday Night Showdown and those participants were Terrell Owens, Drew McIntyre, Angry Video Game Nerd, Goldar, Fozzie Osbourne, and The Shredder.

  • Ganondorf tried to cash in the MITB contract after failing to win back the NIWA world title at NIWA Battle For Glory-Deadly Thanks (2011), but Link made his return and interfered to cost Ganon his second chance to win back the title.
