NIWA Breakdown is an event put on by the National Internet Wrestling Alliance. It is held in January with the inaugural one being in 2011.

2010s[]

The inaugural Breakdown was held on January 27, 2011 and it was the first January supershow for the NIWA. It was held at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The event featured eight matches with four of them being contested for titles and two of the titles changed hands. Jerry Lynn defeated Spider-Man for the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship and Chuck Norris defeated Drew McIntyre to become the first multi-time NIWA World Heavyweight Championship. The Dudley Nephews were able to defeat The Warios and The Super Mario Brothers in a Triple Threat Tag Team match for the NIWA World Tag Team Championship. Even though Buttercup was able to defeat "Narcissist" Blossom via disqualification, that still meant she was unable to regain the NIWA World Women's Championship. The event also marked the return of commissioner Bob Barker who came out of retirement during the main event to restart the match after Mr. C.C. distracted Norris which allowed McIntyre to seemingly retain the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship and after that, Norris became the new champ.

Breakdown 2012 was held on January 27, 2012 and it was held at the Rose Garden in Portland, OR. The event featured eight matches with three of them being contested for titles and one of the titles changed hand. James Bond defeated Shelton Benjamin for the NIWA North American Championship. The Punisher were able to defeat Speed Racer in a singles match for the NIWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship. Blitz regained the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre in a brutal I Quit Match with help from "his sister" "Narcissist" Blossom.

Breakdown 2013 was held on January 25, 2013 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. The event featured six matches with three of them being contested for titles and two of the titles changed hands. Blossom won the NIWA World Women's Championship in a Championship Scramble Match by pinning her sister, Buttercup and Chuck Norris won the NIWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Blitz in a Texas Death Match after Drew McIntyre laid out Blitz with a Future Shock DDT.

Breakdown 2014 was held on January 24, 2014 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. The event featured eight matches with five of them being contested for titles and one of the titles changed when Ganondorf defeats Goldar in a battle of monsters over the NIWA Venue Championship. Shadow the Hedgehog def. "The Wrestling Badass" Shelton Benjamin for the NIWA World Championship, but Shelton retained the title via DQ when Shelton low blowed Shadow who attempted a Chaos Kick.

Breakdown 2015 will be held on January 23, 2015 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA. The event got three official matches so far with two of them being contested for titles.
