Millennium Wrestling Alliance (MWA for short) is an e-federation formed by Brian Dunkel in 2001. It is a Hybrid Fed. They run 90% results based on graded Role-plays and about 10% on predetermined angles that are always agreed on by all parties involved.

All handlers have as much input in their storylines as they care to have and they are actively encouraged to contribute segments and matches for the shows.

The MWA mission is to present old school wrestling for today’s tastes, showing the traditional side of wrestling mixed with modern attitudes.

Behind the Scenes[]

History[]

The era of the Millennium Wrestling Alliance began on December 15th, 2001. The actual beginnings of the place are shrouded in legend now. It truly began in December of 1999 in the backroom of a Lids baseball cap store in West Towme Mall in Madison, Wisconsin as an attempt to create a Cable Access TV show.

Mad City Wrestling[]

The principle creative elements of the group were Matt Schafer (Tommy Knuckles), Jack Gard (Jackie Sweets, Dhiarhetta Guerrera), Jared Beloungy (Johnny Grrrrr), Eric Bright (SNAP David Bright, Merde), Brian Dunkel (El Presidente), Chad Lawler (Harlem Tony, the Prince) and Jerry Bredeson (Ian Payne). Other people like Robbie Jones (Trevon Miles), Darnell Lovejoy (Earl Bickelsbottoms aka the Matrix), Steve Ashley (Tank), John Duerst (J.Dirty), Ron Osoucha (Souch), Tavis (Ash), John Parell (Staind), "Nasty" Nick Bruns, some punk kid named Marcel, and an interview girl no one remembers the name of. And of course the lovely and talented Jenny Reynolds as Starlett. A few others watched and contemplated joining such as Maria Tortorice (Pizazz), Andrea Harrington (Ginger) and Melissa Pirk (Sierra Devereaux). The group came up with several names including Millennium Wrestling Alliance which Jared actually created the logo for when he forgot that the group settled on the more regional sounding Mad City Wrestling.

The group decided to come up with jobs for each of them to make the dream come true. Jerry was going to supply a shed to house the ring that Matt and Jack bought. (Long damn story and Jack wound up out a lot of f****** money.) Matt bought a WCW World Title belt replica as our title belt. Jared created a logo and had the TV editing training and connections at local WYOU TV. Brian was to recruit new people. Matt bought Luchadore masks which were worn by Eric and Jack. They all had the dream. It fell apart. Jack still has some of the video and keeps saying that someday he will try to put it on YouTube. Eric used to have some additional footage. In the long run all they had to show out of it were some comical promos, some awful Hardcore matches shot in the mall, bumps, bruises, pissing blood and lasting friendships.

Birth of the Millennium Wrestling Alliance[]

Eventually Brian found the world of eFedding and the World Fantasy Wrestling organization. He decided to start his own fed and WICW was born. At some point he decided to start another fed with the name Millennium Wrestling Alliance and eventually got Chad, Matt, Eric and Jack to join. There is some dissension on when the MWA actually began as an online entity but December 2001 is the first proof we have.

The Jack Gard Era[]

After 6 months Brian had problems and asked Jack to take over. Jack added Chris (CS Bunger) and Jared in as Staff and eventually turned this place into something Brian detested. Brian sold the site to Chris and he, Jared and Jack ran things from then on.

After a while Jack ended up running things on his own, but Bunger and Grrrrr stuck around as behind the scenes characters. At various times Jack had help from (Brian Richman), (Jack Griggs), Sara (Trinity Litrell-Black), Al (Tim Worthington), Steve (Steve Pinex), Greg (Andersen) and (Punisher) amongst others.

This seemed to work brilliantly and the MWA ran solidly under the guidance of Jack except for the brief hiatus of 2004 and a six month period in 2009 where Steve stepped up to run the company.

Jack introduced other aspects that now are a natural part of the MWA. Stories that incorporate the entire company, often done outside of the weekly shows and PPV’s. Stories such as The Dark Circle, Crash, Underground, Future Shock, Scorned, Voyage of the Damned and the July 12 Explosion (which lead to the 2004 hiatus). These stories helped to shape the MWA as a force for brilliant story telling, both inside and outside the ring.

After a few problems, including people being banned for the first time in MWA history, Jack had enough and stepped away from the company he loved in late 2010.

The Committee Takes Control[]

Jack stepped away from the MWA in the week that the Old School Anarchy PPV was due to be posted. In Jacks absence Al stepped up to put the show together with the help of several others who wrote matches, contributed grades and put forward ideas.

After the show was done a committee was decided on to run the MWA. This committee is headed by Al and includes Steve, Matt (Angelica Jones), Jason (Jason Talbot), Fiona (Kacy Knight) Julia (Carolyn Baker), MJ (Vivian Storm) and Gregg who is in charge of the website design.

The MWA went on a hiatus during the changes and the first show under committee ownership was on 29th November 2010.

Over time Al stepped away from MWA duties and Steve Pinex took over. However now the committee is in full control with Jason Talbot and Kacy Knight (Fiona) in charge of booking and show production.

Recently Jack has returned to the Committee and will be back to Show Running as of July 31st, 2012 with the continued help of Jason, Fiona, Julia and everyone else on the roster.

New Millennium Wrestling[]

New Millennium Wrestling (NMW) is a farm-federation. Unlike MWA, it is run strictly as an angle fed and is used primarily to help develop new talent and new characters that someday may make the jump to the main MWA roster. It shadows MWA, traveling to the same cities it travels to. Its first in character president was John Patrick and the first NMW Champion was Travis Eagle.

House of Pain

Originally set up by Johnny Grrrrr to bilk young hopefuls out of their hard earned money. Barrett Brand later bought it and it serves as the training academy and finishing school for MWA wrestlers. Currently it is headed by Jackie Sweets and his staff.
