"The Head Trip" Mickey Dragon[]

Mickey Dragon (born October 29th, 1973) is an American professional wrestling e-wrestler signed solely to Global Impact Wrestling as a midcard heel member of a group known as The Covenant.

Training and debut[]

Mickey Dragon was trained in central New Jersey at the age of 16 by NJPW trainer and backyard wrestling enthusiast, Graza. Graza, along with his staff saw great potential in the training class Mickey Dragon was in with the likes of Jared Young. Mickey Dragon made his wrestling debut in 1997 against The Crimson Ghost, a match he lost to the Ghostdriver.

Universal Championship Wrestling (uCw)[]

Mickey Dragon joined Universal Championship Wrestling in 1999 and immediately was worked into a storyline with Dirge. The program was violent and extensive and Dragon was, often times, coming out on the losing end. Dirge went on to face off against Joker for the UCW Inter-Global Championship while Dragon got worked into a program with Mitch Fierce for the #1 contendership for that belt. After defeating Mitch Fierce, Dragon would start a program with Joker for the belt, a program he would also lose.
At that point, UCW President Daniel Farmer was forming an elite group of athletes to go up against his most hated rival, Bryan Bryn Bryson's stable The Court. With Kathryn Edict, Mickey Dragon, Boogeyman, and Gothik, the first incarnation of The Covenant was born. A tag team championship tournament began with The Covenant's representatives of Edict and Dragon making it to the finals, defeating Mitch Fierce and his wife, Majestic Woman, in the semi-finals. In the finals, Edict and Dragon faced off against Devon Jacobs and Christian Masters, representing The Court. Dragon and Edict would come up on the losing end that night, and the first ever uCw Tag Team Champions were crowned.
Dragon then went on to fued with Mitch Fierce again, as he had somehow become the uCw Inter-Global Champion. Dragon and Fierce battled for the belt and Dragon gained his first championship in his career. Soon after, Mitch Fierce would get his rematch and Dragon would, once again, end up victorious.

Birth of a lifelong friendship[]

At this point, uCw's Global Champion was Bloodhound. His wife was the lovely Chassie Fear. At the time, 'Hound was in a fued with The Boogeyman and was severely injured. Dragon befriended Fear, a known enemy of The Covenant at the time, and ended up granting her a shot at the Inter-Global Championship at what would become uCw's last PPV. The ladder match, a uCw classic, was one of the greatest battles of Dragon's career, and a match he would, unfortunately, lose.

Break from e-wrestling[]

uCw closed its doors of late 2001 and Mickey Dragon didn't follow the majority of uCw superstars over to the new federation of HeadStrong Wrestling (HSW). HSW proved to be quite a renaissance period for many of those men and women, but for Dragon, he needed to find where his career was going. He traveled numerous backyard and e-wrestling federations winning numerous secondary and top-tier championships:

WXWF (2001)[]

In 2001, Mickey Dragon joined World Xtreme Wrestling Federation with his tag team partner Jared Young. He and Jared went on to become the first ever Tag Team Champions of WXWF defeating straYn and Tris Mann in the finals of the tournament. Along with that, Mickey Dragon won an over-the-top-rope battle royale to become the WXWF World Heavyweight Champion. Dragon never relinquished the title for the five months WXWF was in operation. Jared Young and Dragon, however, did lose the tag team championships once, only for Dragon to see Jared win them back with a comrade known as Physico. When WXWF closed its doors in mid-2002, he was their only Heavyweight Champion of record.

XCW (2002)[]

Mickey Dragon's backyard wrestling career really took off when he entered Xtreme Championship Wrestling in central New Jersey in 2003. He went on to become the XCW Champion as XCW closed its doors at the end of 2003, when it had been bought out by Why Not Wrestling.

WnW (2003-2004)[]

Around the time Mickey Dragon's hiatus from e-wrestling was fulfilled, Why Not Wrestling opened its doors in central New Jersey to Mickey Dragon. 2003 proved to be a big stepping-stone year for Mickey Dragon as he became Tag Team Champion with his friend Mike Dragos as well as becoming WnW Intercontinental Champion by defeating Handsome B. Wonderful. Dragon, Dragos and Jared Young would go on to form the Golden Dynasty after Jared captured the WnW Global Championship by defeating his brother, Dave Young. The three would go on to dominate for the year before Dragos's leg was broken and the Tag Titles were forefeitted. The Golden Dynasty effectively disbanded.
The following year, Jared Young and Mickey Dragon formed "The Court" with Casanova and Mr. Monday Munchie. Dragon would then go on to become the second-ever Tyrant of the Tramp and gaining a Global Championship match at the show WnW Untamed. Dragon's second Global Championship reign, and his most successful, began that night. Dave Young would look for a rematch at WnW All Systems Go. The two faced off in the first ever Dragon's Lair Match where the object was to escape the facility in which they were fenced in. Dragon again came out on top. However, things broke down at WnW Chain of Command where Jared Young demanded that Dragon lay down for him so Young could regain "his championship." Dragon, shocked by this, proved that he deserved the championship by defeating Jared. This all came to a head at WnW Entropy where all three men, the Youngs and Mickey Dragon, would face each other for Dragon's WnW Global Championship. Dragon would not be pinned, but would end up losing the championship that night as his comrade, Jared Young, defeated his brother Dave. At the end of the match, however, their friend Casanova turned their back on them, bringing the following year quite a bit of intrigue.
Entering 2005, Mickey Dragon and Jared Young had found the next generation of their greatness in a new superstar named Strife. Strife was young, hungry and the two took him under their wing. Just like his predecessors, Strife became the 2006 Tyrant of the Tramp, the third ever. Mickey Dragon then became WnW Global Champion for the third time when he defeated Dave Young at WnW Party Hard. At the next show, aptly named WnW Golden Dynasty, Dave Young received his rematch in one of the most unforgettable matches in WnW history. The WnW Global Championship was on the line in a Ladder Match. Dave Young came out the victor thanks to an F5 off a ladder through a table. At the end of the year, six men entered into a Six Pack Challenge for the WnW Global Championship. Mickey Dragon was eliminated fourth, as Strife went on to become the final WnW Global Champion. WnW Closed its doors after 2006.

BYWA First Run (2004)[]

The Backyard Wrestling Alliance, another backyard wrestling federation based in western New Jersey, invaded WnW in the summer of 2005. Mickey Dragon, along with many of his WnW alumnus, returned the favor, invading and attempting to take over BYWA. They were unsucessful but Mickey Dragon's feuds there have implications as well.
Upon arriving in BYWA, the "front line" of BYWA consisted of a group known as The Syndicate as well as the largest and most dominating force BYWA had to offer in The Bounty Hunter. Bounty Hunter attempted to single out Mickey Dragon for his size, but Dragon certainly taught Bounty Hunter that it's never the size of the fight in the dog. The two had four matches with Bounty Hunter only winning the first. The final battle, at BYWA Retalliation, was a Street Fight. The 6'4, 350 pound Bounty Hunter faced off against Mickey Dragon and put Dragon through HELL. He was powerbombed through tables, thrown through boards, beaten all over the place but, in the end, Mickey Dragon pinned Bounty Hunter thanks to a chair shot from BYWA wrestler "Dangerous" Darren Deadly.
After the Bounty Hunter fued, Mickey Dragon was entered into the BYWA Burlington County Championship tournament. Dragon defeated "Dangerous" Darren Deadly in the first round thanks to a distraction by The Bounty Hunter. In the semi-finals, Dave Young and Mickey Dragon fought to a draw so BYWA fans thought that Tsunami, the only man to advance to the finals, would be declared the first Burlington County Champion. However, BYWA Co-Owner Ron Kahlua had a surprise for those fans and gave them a triple threat match for the Burlington County Championship at BYWA Bitch School. At Bitch School, however, Co-Owner Mr. Natiello stopped the match when Tsunami had Dragon in a his submission hold, thus declaring nobody the winner.
Strife, the lone WnW member not to make the transfer to BYWA during the invasion, was granted the BYWA Burlington County Championship and Mickey Dragon stepped up to be his first opponent. They had a great 2 out of 3 falls match where Mickey Dragon defeated Strife to become the Burlington County Champion. Dragon then went on to defend the title in the first ever Ladder Match in BYWA at Frostbitten, which he also won.
Almost immediately after this match, Mickey Dragon quit BYWA for creative differences, effectively vacating the Burlington County Championship.

NGW (2005)[]

Effectively breaking ties with those he had broke into wrestling with, Mickey Dragon spread his wings and found Next Generation Wrestling in southern New Jersey. Upon entering the company, he was placed into a United States Championship tournament and advanced to the finals, being defeated by Alex Prime. Mickey Dragon then got into a feud with DJ Severe, ending in a first blood match, which Dragon did win. Not soon after this, Severe was struck by a car during their off day. People began pointing the finger at Mickey Dragon and DJ Severe's brother, Evan Blaze and Dragon entered into a bloody feud that ended at Mutiny III in a best of 5 tables match. The first man to put his opponent through three tables would be declared the winner.
Mickey Dragon bled buckets during this match, and ended up being defeated due to a Death Valley Driver off the second rope through a table. Evan Blaze had avenged whom he thought was the culprit of his brother's injury. However, at Meltdown, Mickey Dragon entered a Battle Royale for the #1 contendership to the NGW World Championship and threw Evan Blaze out last, effectively becoming the #1 Contender and getting his own measure of revenge.
Mickey Dragon then went on to fued with Ronin over the NGW World Championship culminating at Mutiny III, where Dragon defeated Ronin in a Ladder match to gain the NGW World Championship. Dragon then defended the title against an up and comer in Brian Cage, then lost a non-title match against the returning Evan Blaze, only to be stripped of the title just before Exile III and leaving the company altogether.

BYWA Return (2006)[]

Mickey Dragon returned to BYWA in November of 2005 and immediately made a splash by joining Jared Young's evil "Elite" with Alex Stein, Carnage, and Strife. Mickey Dragon was to be the "bodyguard" or "insurance policy" over Alex Stein's Burlington County Championship reign. The same Burlington County Championship that Mickey Dragon never lost when he left BYWA. After costing Stein the belt, Mickey Dragon turned his back on The Elite and began facing off with Damien Marious, the new Burlington County Champion, over the belt.
Jared Young, not to be outdone, now put the two in a "retirement" match at BYWA Frostbitten 2006, a match that Mickey Dragon would turn out on the losing end of.
He would not, however, be retired for long. Only six weeks later, Jared Young's patsy, commissioner Tommy Consiguliere reinstated Mickey Dragon for the 6 pack challenge ladder match for the #1 contendership to the Global Title. Mickey Dragon was the surprise sixth entrant, but did not come out on top that night. Instead, he entered into the Tyrant of the Tramp 4, being defeated in the quarter-finals by Syn.
Mickey Dragon then entered into a fued with Bounty Hunter again, Hunter trying to avenge his losses two years earlier. Instead, Mickey Dragon again defeated Bounty Hunter in a street fight at Showdown, effectively owning the soul of the Bounty Hunter forever.
With the big win over Bounty Hunter, new BYWA Champion Carnage made an open challenge to anyone for the belt. Mickey Dragon wasted no time in responding, bringing with him a ladder. His statements "I've been the most underestimated superstar my entire career. You name them, I've beaten them and you are going to be no different tonight!" Dave Young was later added into the match envoking his rematch clause.
Dragon stayed true to his words and gained his first, and only, BYWA Heavyweight Championship at Syndicated when he climbed the ladder and captured the belt.

Retirement from Backyard Wrestling (10/2006)[]

Mickey Dragon was on top of the world and set to defend his BYWA Heavyweight Championship at Hardcore Halloween. This time, it was going to be a fatal fourway match. Mickey Dragon was to defend against the former champion Carnage, the man he won the belt from in Dave Young, and the #1 contender, Damien Marious. These four battled for everything they had and in the end, Carnage regained his championship by defeating Mickey Dragon. After the match, however, Dave Young turned his back on his longtime friend Mickey Dragon and powerbombed him off a fifteen foot scaffolding through a table, effectively ending his backyard career.

Return to e-wrestling (2006)[]

Global Wrestling Alliance (2006-2007)[]

Mickey Dragon entered Global Wrestling Alliance when the doors opened in June of 2006. He was immediately entered into the Xtreme Championship tournament defeating Jacob Franklin in the first round and Benny Graves in the finals to become the first GWA Xtreme Champion. However, his celebration would be short lived as Abigail Knight entered the ring and smashed a light-tube laced baseball bat over his face. 176 stitches later, the wound was closed up.
Dragon went on to one of his bloodiest and scariest feuds with Abigail Knight over the Xtreme Championship. He lost the Xtreme Championship at Ascension when he was run down by his ex girlfriend Desire, helping Abigail Knight win the match. He had to have reconstructive knee surgery to repair it and then returned in Johannesburg, South Africa giving Abigail Knight a title defense win against Blade and challenging her to an Ultimate Dragon's Lair Match at Reckoning in Tokyo, Japan. Abigail accepted.
Abigail then went on to kidnap Dragon's lifelong friend Chassie Fear and torture her for weeks making Dragon's psyche out of whack. He started to hear things, see things, and his rage went through the roof. At Reckoning, he was given the chance to exorcize the demon known as Abigail Knight, but came up short, falling 25 feet to a burning ring of c4, which exploded with him in it.
He nearly died.
Dragon again returned and was thrust into the Alpha Championship division, defeating Fallen Angel and becoming the only man in GWA to win two Championships. Dragon and Fallen Angel would fued for quite a bit before Bonecrusher's Ball, where they would face each other in a Falls Count Anywhere Match with the stipulation that if you are pinned, you have 30 seconds to return to the ring. Dragon was pinned by Fallen Angel in the aisleway, but upon his attempt to return to the ring, Jarek Magnum, Chassie Fear's boyfriend, cost Dragon the match.
The two would enter into a blood fued with Dragon trying to gain revenge over fighting for Chassie and nearly dying with no help from Jarek. The two were scheduled for a match at Solitude aptly named "Caged Inferno." Unfortunately, GWA went bankrupt and closed its doors in June of 2007 and the match never took place. To this day, Jarek Magnum and Mickey Dragon do not speak.

Pure Pain Wrestling (2007-2008)[]

Dragon entered Pure Pain Wrestling in August of 2007 and was immediately thrust into the limelight in a three on one handicap match with Shane Kast. Though he didn't win, his team did as Vanity ShowWood got the win over Shane Kast. From there, Dragon disappeared for a bit before reappearing at Fallout during the Bloodbath Combat Cage Match alligning himself with Raenius. Raenius was inside the cage with seven other top superstars in PPW and Mickey Dragon and Raenius cleared house before crowning Raenius the Bloodbath Champion. Raenius and Mickey Dragon dubbed themselves The Mournival and recruited Harmony Taylor as their third member. Before long, Mickey Dragon found himself floundering in tag team matches with either and truly going nowhere.
However, Paramount Champion Jonathon Willis and Television Champion "Rampage" Quinton Jonas were both fired and decimated by The Mournival, effectively stripped of their titles and, before long, the titles needed owners. A roster-wide battle royale was held in order to crown both champions. The last man standing was the Paramount Champion with the three before that becoming the top 3 contenders. The person before the final 4 was named the Television Champion, just happened to be Harmony Taylor. In one feld swoop, Mickey Dragon was the Paramount Champion, Harmony Taylor was the Television Champion and Raenius was the Bloodbath Champion. The Mournival held all but one belt.
Dragon then entered into a feud with Siren as Dragon was keeping a well-guarded secret from Siren about his childhood and his past. Dragon became a psychopathic serial killer, murdering six people before facing Siren at Seven Deadly Sins.
(This storyline is yet to be finished... will finish it at some point)
Pure Pain Wrestling closed its doors in August of 2008. Dragon took a hiatus for another eight months.

Global Impact Wrestling (2009-present)[]

Mickey Dragon debuted in GIW in a tag team match with Randy Boolzian against Travis Roberts and Ezekiel Pax on January 18th, 2009. For a while, Dragon floundered trying to maintain the steady schedule GIW demanded as he would disappear for weeks at a time. His full-time return came at Break for the Border on June 14th, 2009. The Covenant, his longtime friends Raenius and Dirge, had just finished defeating Osiris and Serapis for the Tag Team Championships. After the win, Mickey Dragon made his demonic return, effectively breaking Osiris's neck and taking him out of the game for good. The Covenant had finally come full force. Chassie Fear, Raenius, Dirge and Mickey Dragon were together and united in GIW.
Since then, Dragon's been in two triple threat matches and both times, he's not factored in the decision. William Everknight pinned Vanity ShowWood in his first match back, then he and Dirge defeated Serapis and Vladmir Ulysys, then Alex Kiseragi defeated Serapis before Toxic Intent when Dragon entered into the Battleground Qualifier Battle Royal. He was the runner-up, as Serapis won the battle royale, giving Dragon his only defeat since returning.
Also at Toxic Intent, Mickey Dragon's "mother" made her appearance, effectively beginning a feud between Jezebel Saint and Mickey Dragon. This will be Dragon's first full-fledged feud since rejoining GIW.
