Early and Personal Life[]

Early Life[]

Justina Ava Matthews was born to Randy Matthews and Debbie Diaz (1965-1997) on March 15th, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois. She's their only child together as shortly after her birth, the two filed for divorce with Debbie taking Justina after many back and fourths that ultimately ended with Randy getting stabbed by Debbie. Both ended up getting arrested. Debbie moved Justina to Rockford, Illinois when she turned 3. Many members of Justina's and Debbie's families have come out and talked about Debbie's many usages of substances over the course of her life. Even during her marriage to Randy. One family member on Debbie's family stated that Debbie's drug abuse could have been a major contributing factor to their relationship failing in the end with Randy himself later revealing in a later interview that her substance abuse was the main reason why they got divorced. Justina revealed in a 2016 interview with ESPN that Debbie showed her true colors after she turned 5. "She was physically and emotionally abusive towards me. I had to bear it because I had no one else to comfort me. My teachers and friends would try to intervene and help me out, but my mom just shoed them away or threatened to call the cops on them for "trespassing" and "harassment". Justina's last straw with her mother was when she was sexually assaulted and molested by one of her mother's dealers in order to pay for the Heroin when she was 11 years old and instead of calling the cops upon seeing the action for herself, she would join in on the assault. After collecting enough material to help her case in 1999, she went to the local police station to plead her case. Just as she was about to be throw in jail, the police found Debbie unconscious with a needle stuck in her forearm. At 4:25 p.m, Debbie Diaz died via suicide by a Heroin overdose. Only leaving a final letter to Justina that was in Justina's eyes: "So vile and Fucked up, that she can't even bring herself to say it". Randy immediately gained custody of Justina after Debbie's death and tried his hardest to comfort her anyway he can. After many years in therapy that lasted until Justina's time in the 11th Grade, and taking up Karate and Judo classes, Justina began to pursue a career in Professional wrestling.

Personal Life[]

Justina married to retired professional wrestler Michael Evans since June 11th, 2014. The two had two kids together, 2 boys. Michael Evans Jr. and Christopher Evans, both being born on February 18th 2016 and March 19th 2017. A year apart from each other.

Matthews has stated that she suffers from PTSD and Short-Term Schizophrenia due to her traumatic childhood. She has since open up about the short and long term effects of her childhood online in many interviews and podcast appearances since the 2010's due to her rapid popularity in the Pro-Wrestling world. Finding that Speaking and talking about her past really helped her in her healing process. She has opened a therapy center in Chicago, Illinois named "Speaking Out", where people would come in and speak with trained therapists about their familial, sexual, physical, and mental traumas in a safe and healthy environment. The center has been active since February, 2023.

Justina currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Pro Wrestling Career[]

Early Career (Late 2004-2005)[]

During her 3rd year in college, Justina took a trip abroad to Mexico City, Mexico, Justina attended a AAA event where she became fascinated with the sport. After the event, she asked some of the wrestlers how to try-out. The only answer she was given was how to do basic wrestling drills and takedowns. When she returned to Chicago, she began to look into wrestling schools in her area until she ended up in Windy City Pro Wrestling. She would regularly train and compete there up until she had left in June of 2005 after getting signed to a contract to New Orleans Pro Wrestling by head recruiter and scouter of the promotion, Douglas Montana.
