He is perhaps best known for his time in Professional Wrestling Revolution (where he is a former PWR Champion), for World Wrestling Entertainment on their NXT brand, Union Battleground, for Premier Wrestling Federation, where he was the inaugural and final PWF World Heavyweight Champion, for Divine Wrestling, where he was the inaugural and final Pure Champion, and for SupremePRO Wrestling, where he was the final Universal Champion.

Early Life[]

Kyle Stevens was born in Long Island, New York on December 15th, 1995. He grew up being heavily involved in academic ventures and sports, shifting from Soccer and Baseball to Basketball to Football and Track. He went to college to study to become a high school English teacher and Varsity Football coach. However, he ended up leaving college early to pursue a career in professional wrestling.

Professional Wrestling Career[]

Generation Next Wrestling (2015-16)[]

Training[]

After leaving college, Stevens trained vigorously, adjusting his workouts from the workouts he'd been taught and had been utilizing for football and his other athletic ventures. He added more functional strength workouts, as well as more Yoga and other such athletic auxiliaries. To help finance his journey to professional wrestling, he would obtain a job at a local gym. Eventually, he would be accepted into GNW, or Generation Next Wrestling, a training facility and organization run by Emil Goldwyn and Brian Church. Here, he honed his craft, something he seemed to already have a knack for from the getgo. The training he underwent, too, would learn how to better protect his shoulder and himself in general from Church, who had to retire from professional wrestling after a neck injury. After less than a year in training, Stevens would graduate from GNW with honors, going onto sign a contract with Professional Wrestling Revolution, or PWR.

Professional Wrestling Revolution (2016)[]

PWR Championship Pursuits[]

At PWR PPV Sparta, Stevens debuted after Jordan Zachary won back his PWR Championship from Christ Christ in a steel cage match. He would attack the champion, deliver his From Hell's Heart finisher, and make evident his intentions to take the belt from Zachary. For the next four weeks, Stevens would attack Zachary during his matches, giving him multiple DQ victories. However, at the PPV Adapt V Stevens would defeat Zachary to become PWR Champion after the Rapture. In the week after becoming champion, Stevens defeated Jack Sledge in a singles match with another variant of his From Hell's Heart maneuver. The following week, he defeated Will Myers and Troy Chelsea in a triple threat after capitalizing on Chelsea's having delivered the Chelsea Grin to Myers. Following the match, Jordan Zachary announced his intention to invoke his rematch clause for the title at the next PPV, Evolve V. However, Stevens made it abundantly clear that he believed jZach hadn't earned it (or the title), but would defend the title nonetheless because of contractual obligations. Stevens would then announce that the match would be contested in a Ladder Match, which Zachary happily accepted.

Successful Defenses[]

At Evolve V, in a match of the year candidate, Zachary and Stevens broke and flew off of many ladders and broke two announcing tables in a contest that lasted nearly fifty minutes. Finally, Stevens delivered a From Hell's Heart off of the ladder to give himself enough time to climb back up the ladder and retrieve the belt. After the match, Stevens delivered another variant of the From Hell's Heart onto the title belt and left the ring. Two weeks after Evolve V, the manager of PWR, Scott Ravenwood, would finish the show by announcing that at Rise V, Stevens would defend his title in an elimination styled six man match within a massive cage akin to the Hell in a Cell. Each of the five spots not taken up by the champion would have to be earned in the weeks leading up to the show. The following week, Kai would defeat David Croft with the Spiral Tap. Following the match, Stevens would attack Croft, prompting Zachary to attempt to make the save. However, the champion would deliver multiple violent chair shots to the former champion. The week afterwards, Kai would find himself booked in a Strange Bedfellows Tag Team Match with the other three competitors who'd already earned their spots in the match at Rise II. Kai would team with Jordan Zachary against David Croft and Troy Chelsea, who'd returned the week before from his injury hiatus. Kai would routinely play the Indiangiver to Zachary, often refusing to tag him in. However, they would win the contest following Zachary hitting a Killshot to a David Croft on the top rope, allowing Stevens to hit the Rapture. The last week before the PPV, all six spots would be filled: Kai Stevens, Jordan Zachary, Troy Chelsea, David Croft, Kyle Cooper, and CROATOAN. The six would compete in three separate one-on-one matches, seeing Zachary defeat Croft, Stevens defeat Cooper, and CROATOAN defeat Troy Chelsea. The six would end up brawling at the end of the show to build into the main event at Rise V. At the aforementioned PPV, CROATOAN would be eliminated first (by Cooper) after he delivered the Invert off of the side of the cage and through an announcing table. However, Cooper would be eliminated immediately afterwards by a Chelsea Grin from Troy Chelsea. jZach would eliminate Croft with a Killshot, leaving just Stevens, Zachary, and Chelsea. Troy would be eliminated by Stevens following From Hell's Heart. When Jordan attempted to deliver the Midas Touch, Stevens would reverse it into the Spellcheck, immediately following up with the Rapture to retain the PWR Championship. The first week following Rise V, Kai would not initially be booked, though during an early segment would be challenged to a title match by CROATOAN. Stevens would accept, surprisingly, and in the main event of the evening, Kai would defeat CROATOAN after a dusty finish when the debuting Valerie Valkyrie would interfere on Kai's behalf, aligning herself with the champion.

Continued Title Defenses and Departure[]

The next two weeks would be characterized by victories for Kai, including an easy singles contest against Slater Price and a barn burner against PWR International Champion Artemis Slake. After the match, Jordan Zachary would look to attack Slake, but it would lead to a three way brawl between the three men. This would lead to the booking of a six man tag match, pitting Slake, Zachary, and Stevens against the tag team champions and a partner of their choosing: Evan Staab, Ryan Black, and Nick Vengeance. The match would end with Zachary and Slake fighting outside of the ring and both Staab and Black delivering maneuvers from the ring to take out all four, leaving Vengeance to be pinned following the Deadline. The next time Stevens would compete for PWR, he would defeat Orlando Keller with the Apocalypse Now, continuing his undefeated streak in the company. However, after this match, Kai would announce that the PWR Championship had been "tainted" by his fellow roster members, and should he retain the title at the next PPV, Endgame V, he would relinquish the title right after and not compete for PWR until a time he views as "right." The following show, Kai would defeat Slater Price once more, pinning him after From Hell's Heart. After defeating Tyler Clay the week before the next PPV, he would continue to allude to departing from the company, leading to rumors of his contract running out. At the PPV, he would successfully defend the PWR Championship once more, this time against Zakk Faith, who had earned his shot for the title in a Beat the Clock Challenge. After the match, he called general manager Scott Ravenwood to the ring, where he would hand him the PWR Championship and walk out of the ring without a word. However, Stevens would appear once more on PWR PPV at Rise VI (the schedule was changed around), interfering in the match to appoint the new PWR Champion, between Artemis Slake and Orlando Keller. Stevens would attack both, leaving the two incapacitated and the title still vacant.

SupremePRO Wrestling[]

Debut and Universal Championship Pursuit[]

KaiSPWAd

Stevens began his SupremePRO career with a lot of hype.

Kai, whilst signed to PWR, would participate in a tryout match at a houseshow for SPW against Eden Darkly, who he'd defeat handily with the Rapture. Following this, he would be signed and booked to debut weeks later against Jacob Cass, a mainstay in the promotion. Upon his debut, he would defeat Cass with the Rapture. At the first PPV since his signing, SupremePRO: New York City, Stevens would make his intentions known by attacking the recently retained Universal Champion, Marcus, with a ladder. This would lead to the announcement that Marcus would defend his title in a six-man ladder match at the next PPV, SupremePRO: London. The first edition of the show following this announcement, Stevens would defeat the Universal Champion in a one-on-one contest after a low blow and his From Hell's Heart finishing maneuver. The following week, he would be booked against the debuting Romalis Ventura, all while continuing to win matches at house shows. Before his match against Ventura, he would interrupt an interview between Banksy and Romalis, making it known his intention to expose Rome as being overhyped. However, the match ended in a draw following a Phoenix Splash outside the ring that led to neither competitor being able to return to the ring by the 10 count. After the match, Kai begin to attack Romalis with some assistance from Travi Merceau. However, Aiden Connolly would come out to make the save for Romalis. This would lead to the booking of Connelly and Ventura versus Stevens and Travi. On the next edition of Supreme PRO Live, Stevens would bring home the victory after rolling Connelly up for the three count! After the match ended, Connelly voiced his displeasure with the tactics of Stevens and challenged him to a match the next week, which Kai would of course accept. In said match, the two would fight valiantly, though Stevens would pull out the victory From Hell's Heart, continuing his momentum heading into London. The following week would pit the team of Kai Stevens, Aaron Mercer, and Travi Merceau against the Universal Champion Marcus, Scorpion, and Aiden Connelly. The entirety of the other team would have the desire to exact revenge upon Stevens, and would gang up on the man for the majority of the match. Despite this fact, Stevens managed to control quite a bit of the contest. However, he would suffer his first ever loss following a vicious spear from Marcus following a combination Chokeslam and Marcus Bomb. The following week, in a match against Travi Merceau that he seemed to have all locked up, Scorpion would show up and attack both with a ladder, forcing a draw by double DQ. At the PPV, London, Stevens would be mere seconds and inches from winning the seven man ladder match, only to have Marcus knock him off the ladder to retain the title.

Feud with Marcus[]

The following week, Kai would attack Marcus after his victory, evidencing his intention to continue to fight for Marcus' SupremePRO Universal Championship. The week after this, Kai would defeat Shaun Danielson in a singles contest after From Hell's Heart, increasing his stake in the race for the Number One Contendership for the Universal Championship. The next week, Stevens would suffer his first ever singles loss in a clean loss against Shawn Hunter. However, despite this, he would attack Marcus after his match, which would set off a chain reaction that would lead to the booking of Stevens and Tyler Morgan versus Marcus and Danny Acton, set for the following week. This match would result in victory for the team of Stevens and Morgan, as Kai would reverse Marcus' attempt at a finishing maneuver with a schoolboy roll up. The following week, Marcus and Kai would have the pleasure of selecting each other's opponents. Kai selected Scorpion, Marcus' friend, for his opponent, though Marcus would come out victorious. Marcus would select his former tag team partner, James Hanson, as Kai's opponent, and in a closer-than-expected match, Kai would eek out a victory following the Rapture!

Universal Champion[]

MARCUSvKAI

Stevens won his first title in SupremePRO in Toronto.

At the next PPV, SupremePRO: Toronto, Kai would finally have his one on one shot against Marcus for the Universal Championship. After a hellacious and back-and-forth contest, Kai would reverse an attempt at a Spear with the flipping piledriver variant of the From Hell's Heart, winning himself the SupremePRO Universal Championship! The next Wednesday, Marcus would invoke his Rematch Clause! However, during the course of the match, Stevens would intentionally get himself disqualified to remove any possibility of the former champion regaining the gold. Despite this, the new GM in Brian Church would announce that the tactics, regardless of how Church might have used similar in his day, wouldn't be tolerated, and the next match would take place the following week, for the title, within the confines of a steel cage match. This would be Do or Die for Marcus, because should he fail to win, he wouldn't be allowed to challenge for the Universal Championship until Kai loses it. During this match, the two put on an absolute clinic, ending only when Kai delivered From Hell's Heart and followed up with the Usurper from the top of the cage! In his next match, Kai would fall victim to a pinfall following being abandoned by his tag team partner in Gabriel Gospel against the team of Danny Acton and Cody Rhodes. During the same show, Kai would effectively ruin Shaun Danielson's career by assaulting him with a steel chair, breaking his wrist, hand, and every finger. The following week, Hayden Knight would win a battle royale to become the new Number One Contender to Kai's title. However, the company would fold following Kai's successful title defense in SupremePRO: Denver.

World Wrestling Entertainment[]

NXT[]

At NXT TakeOver: London, Kai Stevens debuted in a fatal five way for a "unique opportunity" against Julian Young, CJ Parker, Ethan Carter III, and Garrick Floyd. Stevens would win this contest with ease after putting one of his foes down with From Hell's Heart. The following edition of NXT would feature Kai booked in the main event in a tag team match. His partner would be Mason Wolfe, who had just won the NXT Championship in London! The duo, despite distractions from Wolfe's foe, Joey Ryan, and a seeming refusal to work together, would defeat the team of Nostalgia and one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, Jeremiah Kreeg. The next week, Stevens would handily defeat CJ Parker via pinfall with his From Hell's Heart finisher. After the turn of the New Year, Kai would defeat Jeremiah Kreeg in a First Blood Match, leading to his being entered into a tournament to crown the Number One Contender to Mason Wolfe's NXT Championship, where his first match will be against Alex Blade. During the match, Stevens dominated until Blade struck him with a kendo stick, causing a DQ victory for Stevens. However, in the following week, Stevens would face fellow Long Islander Zack Ryder in the next round of the Number One Contendership Tournament. Blade would interfere with the match, again striking Stevens with a weapon and allowing Ryder to capitalize and pin Stevens for his first loss in 2017 (or NXT for that matter). This would prompt William Regal to book Stevens against Alex Blade's NXT Tag Team Champion partner, Billy Shaw, on the February 11th edition of NXT. During the match, like expected, Blade came to the ring to interfere. However, having expected this, Stevens would throw Shaw into his partner and roll him up for the pinfall victory. After this match, however, Stevens would engage in a contract dispute with management and would eventually request his release from the company.

Professional Wrestling Revolution[]

Return and Championship Pursuit[]

Following a few months of unemployment, Stevens made a return to the ring for PWR. Facing off against former International Champion Artemis Slake, Kai would reign victorious after delivering his sit-out scoop lift powerbomb finisher. The following week, he would force Michael Graves to submit to his Cataclysm submission. On the May 3rd episode, he would pin PWR Champion Pluto following two superkicks and the Rapture. He would then declare his intentions to reclaim the PWR Championship at the next PPV, Ultimatum V. On the May 10th episode, Stevens would be attacked by Pluto and driven through two announcing tables. He would then place himself on sabbatical with the company, where he contractually will not compete but is still under contract otherwise.

Nike Pro Combat (2017)[]

Debut and Closing[]

In mid-June, Stevens would sign a contract with Nike Pro Combat, who already sponsored him. He would be the first Combatant to sign with the company. On the June 21st episode of Wednesday Combat, he would debut for the company by defeating fellow Combatant Sunny Daze via pinfall following the Full Stop. As a result of winning the match he will have the opportunity to next week compete for a Number One Contendership. However, following the first show, Nike Pro would be put on hold and Kai would void his contract.

Premier Wrestling Federation (2017)[]

Premier Pursuit[]

PWFWHC

The Premier Pursuit Tournament would crown the inaugural Premier Champion.

On July 8th, Stevens would sign a contract with Arn Anderson's Premier Wrestling Federation. His first match would be against former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose in the first round of the Premier Pursuit Tournament, which will culminate at PWF's inaugural PPV, Summerbrawl, where the first ever Premier Champion will be crowned. The following week, Kai would advance to the Finals by pinning Jervis Cottonbelly after hitting the Full Stop onto the apron. After the match, the other finalist, Braun Strowman, would enter the ring and engage in a small brawl with Stevens. However, Stevens appeared unprepared to combat Strowman's size and power advantage and would escape the ring. The following week, after Strowman and his partner, Adam Cole, defeated the team of Tyler Breeze and Samoa Joe, Kai hit the ring and attacked Braun, hitting him with a barrage of strikes that failed to ground him. However, he would deliver a massive dropkick that sent Strowman over the top rope, though he'd land standing. At the first ever Premier Preliminary, the bitter rivalry came to a head when Kai's words would nearly get him Powerslammed through a table. However, at SummerBrawl, Stevens would defeat Braun Strowman in dusty finish to become the inaugural Premier Champion.

Premier Champion/PWF World Heavyweight Champion[]

STROWMANvKAI

Stevens defeated Braun Strowman to win his second career world title.

After the match, CM Punk would make his PWF debut to stare Stevens down. As their feud built up, Stevens defeated Jeremy Baltimore via pinfall in the middle of the ring with his Superkick finisher. The following week, Stevens attacked and brutalized Punk, forcing him to be released with an injury settlement. However, Paul Heyman would announce that Stevens would instead be defending his title against Kenny Omega at Supremacy. At the Supremacy Pay Per View, Kai pinned Omega with his Apocalypse Now finishing maneuver, going on to continue his championship reign until the company closed its doors on October 16th.

Union Battleground (2018)[]

Debut[]

On February 13th, 2018, almost four months after PWF declared bankruptcy and Kai's contract was voided, Stevens officially signed a contract with Union Battleground to compete on its L!GHTS OUT brand. While details were not made public at the time, it has been confirmed that the contract was quite lucrative. Alongside Stevens, the company signed fellow former PWF and SupremePRO employee Aliyah Jaxon to a contract. Brian Church would, too, join the two under contract with the company, and has resumed his role with Stevens that he had worked in in PWF. After winning a match at a house show on February 16th, Stevens is scheduled to make his televised in-ring debut at L!GHTS OUT #20, on March 23rd in the Plovdiv Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. However, Stevens would suffer his first defeat in over a calendar year after falling to the undefeated Tommy Crimson. The match was widely regarded as the best of the night, and Stevens certainly turned some heads despite the loss. After this, it would be announced that fellow Union Battleground Combatant Blake Archer, who is simultaneously the Global Wrestling Promotion World Heavyweight Champion, requested a match with Kai Stevens and would be granted his request, booked for the April 6th episode of L!GHTS OUT, #21, in Verona, Italy. The contest was back and forth, one of the better matches of the night in many eyes. However, Archer would find himself (and the official) distracted by Brian Church on the apron, and would then be lowblowed and dropped with From Hell's Heart for the three and Kai's first win in the company on television. Stevens followed up this victory with another victory at a house show. However, before his next opportunity to compete, Stevens would request his release from the company.

Strong Style Wrestling (2018)[]

Debut and Feud with the Apparition[]

On June 16th, 2018, Kai Stevens and his mentor, Brian Church, signed a contract with Strong Style Wrestling to compete in their Ronin Faction. Stevens was instantly scheduled to debut in a three on three tag team match against Tres Compas Club alongside fellow Ronin competitors, Dr. Shrapnel and Damien Walker. Stevens impressed in the match, serving as a high-flying and lightning-paced competitor. The match ended favorably for Kai, as he delivered a Superkick to Jun Nobunaga, allowing Damien Walker to pin him. Following this, Stevens was booked to compete against Shoot Nation's Shinati Mizarki on the July 7th installment of the Strong Survive Tour. On the 7th, Stevens pinned Mizarki after the Apocalypse Now. Later in the evening, Stevens challenged Shoot Nation's The Apparition to a singles match at the next PPV, Domination. Subsequently, Stevens and fellow Ronin Kikyo Himura were booked to compete at a house show against Shoot Nation's Apparition and Belle Kingsley. During the house show, Stevens tagged himself in after removing The Apparition from the ring and delivering an Apocalypse Now to Kingsley, pinning them immediately afterwards. On the next installment of the Strong Survive Tour, Stevens managed fellow Ronin Kikyo Himura to a DQ loss to the Apparition when Stevens delivered an Apocalypse Now to his rival. The Ronin cleared the ring and Stevens even superkicked a ringside attendant when he was handed his microphone. Stevens and the Apparition were booked to compete at Domination on July 28th, where Stevens defeated his foe via pinfall following the Katabasis.

The Best in the World Series Tournament[]

After the match, however, he continued to brutalize the Apparition and attempt to remove his mask, which prompted Masanori Kawada to come to the rescue, spearing Stevens and forcing him to vacate the ring. During the event, Kai was announced as the first member of the A Block for the Best in the World Tournament. Heading into the opening of the series ranked #3 in the A Block, Stevens was booked to kick of the Best in the World Series for the August 4th, 2018 installment in the tour against SSW Heritage Champion Khmaoch Sângkât. Stevens pinned Sângkât following the Apocalypse Now, and the August 4th show went off the air with Stevens holding the SSW Heritage Championship high over his head. On the August 18th edition, Stevens is booked to compete against former SSW Puroresu Heavyweight Champion Aria Jaxon. Jaxon pinned Stevens on the August 18th installment in the Best in the World Series Tournament, dropping Stevens to the number three rank, with two points and a 1-1 record. On the September 1st installment of the Best in the World Series, Stevens is slated to compete against Shinati Mizarki, who enters the match with a 1-1 record and the #6 ranking in the A Block. Stevens defeated Mizarki once more, this time in even more convincing fashion after delivering the Usurper followed by the Katabasis. Stevens also officially was declared the leader of their Ronin faction, as well as having an opportunity against Khmaoch Sângkât for the SSW Heritage Championship at the upcoming pay-per-view, Event Horizon. Stevens maintained his #3 ranking despite increasing to 2-1 in the tournament, possessing A Block's lone Tie-Breaker, against the same man he is to face at Event Horizon. On a special September 16th edition of the Best in the World Series, Stevens pinned Masanori Kawada after his Apocalypse Now finishing maneuver. He remains #3 in the A Block, with a 3-1 record.

Heritage Champion[]

SSWHC

Stevens was the second and final Heritage Champion.

At Event Horizon, Stevens pinned Khmaoch Sângkât to become the SSW Heritage Champion following a low blow, the Apocalypse Now, and then his From Hell's Heart finishing maneuver. After this victory, Stevens, at 8-1, was slated to next compete against fellow Ronin Kikyo Himura on the October 13th installment of the Best in the World Series. He defeated Himura quickly and easily, pinning her following his Full Stop finishing maneuver to become 4-1 in the tournament and 9-1 in the company. He was then booked against the recently crowned OWA Spartan Champion Layne Kurobane, who earned his Contendership to the title in a Six-Pack Challenge match including Stevens, at the SSW/OWA Crossover Event Civil War. Prior to the match, Stevens delivered promos that were considered to have crossed several lines, leading to what has been described as backstage heat leading into his Champion versus Champion match in Madison Square Garden. At Civil War Stevens was pinned by Kurobane following his Plus Ultra finishing maneuver. After the match Kai was reportedly spotted creating a scene backstage. Before the next round in the Best in the World Series, SSW officially closed its doors on October 31st, 2018, ending Kai's reign as Champion at thirty-nine days.

Miscellaneous Ventures[]

Strong Style Pro (2018)[]

Stevens, while already splitting time between Florida and Japan for ALPHA Wrestling and Strong Style Wrestling, signed with Strong Style Pro on July 7th. After demanding inclusion in the High Impact Tournament, Stevens replaced an injured Christian Banks in the B Block, quickly picking up a victory against Zachary Bates. In HIT Phase Two, Stevens is booked to compete against equally-ranked Daniel Hunter. The company was closed before the second phase of the tournament could commence.

Omega Wrestling Alliance (2018)[]

LAYNEvKAI

Stevens represented SSW against OWA's Layne Kurobane.

After achieving success rather quickly in Strong Style Wrestling, Kai Stevens was referred to their sister company, Omega Wrestling Alliance. After signing his contract, he was quickly booked in a singles match for the July 15th edition of Kingdom against OWA Spartan Champion Scotty Adams. In this match, after multiple nearfalls, Stevens emerged victorious via pinfall following a From Hell's Heart after a distraction by CASPIÁN's entourage. However, the next week Stevens allowed personal issues to get in the way and was pinned in a triple threat match with Layne Kurobane and the Goose. Despite this loss, his next scheduled appearance is in the main event of the August 5th edition of Kingdom, against OWA World Champion Finnegan Wakefield. Despite putting Wakefield through what commentators called "the ringer," Wakefield managed to make Stevens pass out under the pressure of a submission focused on his oft-injured left shoulder. This marks Stevens's first loss by referee stoppage and his only technical submission loss in his career. He would then be booked to face OWA Spartan Champion Monolith for the August 12th episode of Kingdom. After interference by Church involving a steel folding chair, Stevens pinned Monolith. The next week, however, Stevens would be booked in a Triple Threat with Week XII's Rising Star of the Week Jeff X and newly signed Callum Valentine. After Stevens delivered a finishing maneuver, Jeff X would throw him out of the ring and pin Callum Valentine, giving Stevens another technical loss. On the September 2nd episode of Kingdom, Stevens and Church went to Vernon Tressler and demanded something tangible and to be paid their "due," in regards to the respect and opportunities they believe Kai has earned. At the end of the show, Stevens was witnessed watching the Spartan Championship defense by Monolith. The following week, Stevens was announced as one of the competitors in a Six-Pack Challenge taking place at the upcoming Kingdom-exclusive PPV, Vindication, which is to take place on September 24th, 2018 in Seattle, Washington. At Vindication, Stevens delivered a finishing maneuver and was then struck by another competitor, allowing Layne Kurobane to steal the victory. Stevens requested his release soon after the PPV, ending his tenure in OWA with his worst in-company record, at 2-4.

ALPHA Wrestling (2018-Present)[]

Gauntlet of Glory[]

After signing a contract to compete for up and coming wrestling company ALPHA Wrestling, created by Bradley "Ice" Jones, former acquaintance of Kai's mentor, Brian Church, he was entered into the 2018 Gauntlet of Glory Tournament to determine the first ALPHA World Heavyweight Champion. He won both of his first two matches in the July 4th and 5th double header, pinning both Gordon Seth Weathers and former SupremePRO Grand Champion Nicholas Lancer, tying with Landon Mitchell for first place in the B Block with four points. On the July 11th episode, Stevens defeated Landon McQueen by pinfall after delivering the Full Stop onto the apron. After this victory, Stevens remains tied with Landon Mitchell with three victories each. On the July 18th episode, Stevens forced August Frost to submit to his Cataclysm submission hold, tying Landon Mitchell with four victories. The two were scheduled to face each other on the July 25th edition to determine who moves on to the ALPHA World Heavyweight Championship match at Killer Instinct. On the July 25th episode, Stevens fell to Mitchell via pinfall in a tightly contested match-up that drew rave reviews.

Feud with Phoenix[]

Stevens then lost an ALPHA Wrestling Spirit Championship Qualifier to Jon Jrygin at Killer Instinct when his mentor's former rival, Phoenix, attacked Church at ringside, prompting Stevens to entirely abandon the match to make the save. Church and Stevens were overheard vowing vengeance after the show. The following week, on the August 1st episode, Stevens interfered and cost Phoenix his match against Jon Jrygin. To keep them at bay, the two were booked in Pick Your Poison matches for the August 8th show. Stevens defeated Phoenix's selection, Jon Jrygin, via pinfall following the Apocalypse Now. Later in the show, Stevens revealed himself to be Phoenix's opponent, and the two fought to a no contest when they refused to bring the fight into the ring to officially start the match. The two are scheduled to sign a contract for their match at The Mighty Don't Kneel on the August 15th episode. On the 15th, Kai Stevens teamed with ALPHA World Heavyweight Champion Landon Mitchell to defeat the team of Zakk Night and Phoenix by pinfall. After the victory, Stevens and Church procured a contract for a New Age Deathmatch, which Phoenix signed. Afterwards, Stevens and Phoenix fought until Kai incapacitated him long enough to set up Brian Church with a Super Spiked Powerbomb through the table on which Phoenix had just signed the contract. At The Mighty Don't Kneel, Stevens defeated Phoenix in the Deathmatch by pinfall after delivering the Full Stop from the middle rope through a burning table on the steel outside the ring. With the Number One Contendership he'd earned in this victory, Stevens appeared after Landon Mitchell retained the title to make his intentions known.

World Heavyweight Championship Pursuit[]

Kai Stevens officially became the Number One Contender to the ALPHA World Heavyweight Championship on August 26th, 2018. On August 27th, Stevens encountered Athena Veronica at a bar and sparked a friendship. On the August 29th edition of ALPHA Wrestling, Kai attacked Landon Mitchell from behind with a chair to open the show, but Mitchell escaped with his main event later in the evening on his mind. Later in the night, Athena Veronica and Kai Stevens hung out in his locker room, where the two kissed. Stevens was then booked in the main event for the September 5th episode, against new ALPHA Wrestling superstar and former rival, Marcus. In the match, Stevens pinned Marcus clean following his Apocalypse Now finisher. After he got to his feet from the bell ringing, Stevens was leveled from behind by Landon Mitchell as retaliation to Kai's attack on him the week prior. On the September 12th episode, Mitchell interrupted an interview of Stevens's, prompting the two to set an impromptu match for later in the evening, with Brian Church's eligibility at ringside at stake. During the match, Ana Somnia arrived and turned on Mitchell to help Stevens secure a pinfall victory over the champion, Mitchell's second in his career. During the match, Stevens delivered his finishing maneuver, From Hell's Heart, onto the steel stairs and lacerated the top of Mitchell's skull, requiring stitches and a lengthy recovery time. The September 19th show featured Aaron Arkham versus Shawn Hunter to determine who would be added to the main event at From the Ashes, as the Commissioner announced the title match would take place with or without Mitchell. Arkham emerged victorious, scheduling Mitchell to defend the title against Stevens and Arkham in a triple threat. After Steven delivered his Full Stop finishing maneuver into the apron on Mitchell, Arkham incapacitated Stevens and pinned Mitchell to become the new Champion, leaving Kai unpinned but not the victor.

Termination Chamber[]

State-of-Emergency-Official-Poster

Stevens will compete for the second time for the title.

On the September 26th show, Stevens defeated Jake Morgan via pinfall following From Hell's Heart in a Termination Chamber Qualifier to earn a place in the Main Event of State of Emergency, the first-ever Termination Chamber for the ALPHA World Heavyweight Championship. After the show, he was the inaugural guest on the ALPHA Wrestling Post-Show, The Roundtable, where he guaranteed victory at State of Emergency. The following week, Stevens teamed with Tyler Morgan in a losing effort in a triple threat tag team match against Drake Young and Aaron Arkham and the winning team of Shawn Hunter and Marcus. Stevens was slated to team with AJ Graves in a tag team match on the October 10th episode against the team of Tyler Morgan and Isaak Pierce. To open the show, Stevens was involved in a brawl with the other five participants in the Termination Chamber. Despite this, Stevens emerged victorious after forcing Pierce to submit to his Cataclysm finisher. He was then booked to face Morgan one on one on the October 17th episode. Despite a back-and-forth match, Morgan became the first person to pin Stevens clean since Landon Mitchell in July after delivering his Morgan Stunner finishing maneuver. For the go-home show leading into State of Emergency, Stevens was slated to team with his girlfriend Athena Veronica against the team of Drake Young and McKenzie Valentine. There, Veronica earned the win for the team by pinning McKenzie Valentine. After the main event saw Shawn Hunter defeat Marcus, Stevens was involved in a large, lengthy brawl with all six participants from the Termination Chamber and even the Chaos Contingent.

ALPHA World Heavyweight Champion[]

AlphaWHC

Stevens's third world title.

On October 28th, Kai Stevens emerged from the Termination Chamber victorious after 43:06 minutes as the fourth ALPHA World Heavyweight Champion, eliminating Tyler Morgan and the incumbent Aaron Arkham during the match. After the match was over, Stevens was attacked by the Chaos Contingent. On the November 1st episode, Athena forgave Kai and the couple reunited. Stevens was then slated to compete against ALPHA Wrestling Spirit Champion David Boyd on the November 7th episode. Stevens defeated Boyd via pinfall following his From Hell's Heart finishing maneuver. Earlier in the show, his girlfriend's locker room was vandalized and a message for Kai left on her mirror. He, too, crossed paths with old friend Hayley Webb. After defeating Boyd, Aaron Arkham made formal a $2 million bounty, and Jason Kincaid of EVOLVE Wrestling attempted and failed to succeed in landing the bounty. On the November 14th episode, Stevens teamed with Athena Veronica to win a 3 on 2 handicap match over Kaleb Krowe, Eden Darkly, and Stabby Abby after Arkham interfered and hit Stevens with a folding chair, forcing a disqualification. After the bell had rung, the Chaos Contingent delivered their Zero Day tag team finisher to Veronica and hit Kai with the title.

Championship Defenses[]

GhostNation2018

Stevens earned his first solo poster.

At Ghost Nation, Stevens will defend his title against Arkham in a Singles Match. On the go-home show on November 21st, Arkham kidnapped Veronica and exchanged her for the opportunity to choose the stipulation for the title match in Toronto. He chose a Hardcore Match and was subsequently laid out after his match with the Scorpion by Kai's Baptism by Fire. At Ghost Nation, Stevens defeated Arkham after the New Age Plague debuted to intercept interference by the Chaos Contingent. On the November 28th episode, the New Age Plague took to the ring to explain their actions and deliver their mission statement. Later on in the night, a returning Landon Mitchell accepted Kai's open challenge, nearly defeating Kai with a Misadventures of Disaster late in the match. Stevens, however, defeated Mitchell after delivering From Hell's Heart. He is next slated to compete on the December 5th episode alongside Athena Veronica against the tag team of Aaron Arkham and Stabby Abby. During the match, however, Kai would be taken out of the ring by an underhanded maneuver from Abigail, leaving Athena susceptible to be pinned after being struck down with Arkham's finishing maneuver. After the match, the Chaos Contingent and the New Age Plague brawled until Landon Mitchell revealed he, too, was joining the New Age Plague.

The Path to Purity[]

DOR2018

Stevens will defend his title for the second time in Tokyo.

On December 12th, Stevens was slated to compete in the main event against Eden Darkly. However, Darkly and Kaleb Krowe attacked Brian Church backstage early on in the show, prompting Stevens to commandeer the ring and refuse to leave until Darkly comes down for their match much earlier than scheduled. Darkly obliged and was subsequently submitted with Stevens's Midnight Special submission, but Stevens refused to release the submission after the bell, prompting the official to reverse his decision and award Darkly the victory. Stevens continued to beat down Eden Darkly, eventually fighting Krowe and Arkham as well. It required the entire security force in the building to separate the two factions and Stevens accidentally laid his girlfriend, Athena Veronica out during the scuffle. Athena and Stevens broke up officially when she caught Stevens in a compromised position with Hayley Webb, setting Stevens off. Stevens then attacked Kaleb Krowe after Kai's stablemates defeated the Chaos Contingent via submission. This sparked a brawl that led to the indefinite injury hiatus for Eden Darkly and Landon Mitchell, as well as the arrests of all remaining members of both factions. His title defense was subsequently made a Steel Cage Match. On December 22nd, 2018, Stevens was announced as the winner of the following 2018 ALPHA Wrestling Year End Awards: Couple of the Year (with Athena Veronica), Match of the Year (Termination Chamber at State of Emergency), Promo of the Year (Child of Burning Time), and Superstar of the Year. In Tokyo, Stevens defeated Arkham in a Steel Cage by pinfall. Hayley Webb was revealed as the fourth member of the New Age Plague and Stevens and Webb kissed after the match. On December 24th, Stevens successfully defended his title against Minoru Suzuki at a house show. On the 27th, Stevens attacked the Morgan Brothers after they were defeated by the rest of the New Age Plague. The faction concussed Jake Morgan with the Purity is Now after handcuffing Tyler to the ropes, forcing him to watch. They were subsequently booked to compete in the main event of the January 2nd episode, teaming Stevens with Hayley Webb and Tyler Morgan and ALPHA Women's Champion Samantha Taylor. Stevens and Webb emerged victorious following a rope-leveraged roll up. After the match, the four brawled until Taylor cleared the ring with a steel chair. Stevens attacked Jake Morgan the following week in his own home, injuring him even further. This resulted in Morgan attacking the New Age Plague during a conclave in the middle of the January 16th episode. Stevens was challenged by one half of the ALPHA World Tag Team Champions, Graham Baker, in a title-versus-title main event, as Baker put the FPW World Heavyweight Championship on the line. The match, while exciting and back-and-forth, ended in a draw as Stevens elected to continue to attack Baker instead of answering the ring out count. When Zachary Bates and Lola Cosma ran down to save Baker, the New Age Plague incapacitated them and forced Bates to watch as Stevens delivered From Hell's Heart into the exposed concrete beneath the ringside floor mats.

Divine Wrestling[]

Debut and Pure Champion[]

DWPureChamp

Stevens struck gold at The Crown.

Stevens officially signed his Divine Wrestling contract in the tail-end of October, competing for the first time against Michael Maddox on the Pilot episode on November 3rd. Stevens continued to beat down Maddox into a bloody pulp outside the ring, unable to hear or respond to the ring-out count and ending the match in a double count out draw. On the December 1st installment of Saturday Night Saga, Stevens will face Miles Taylor in a Singles Match to crown the inaugural Pure Champion. At the beginning of the show, Stevens attacked Michael Maddox and brutalized him backstage until the entire medical team and security team pried him off and tended to Maddox. Maddox was unable to compete in his match later in the show as a result. Stevens then defeated Miles Taylor via pinfall after his Baptism by Fire finishing strike to secure the title. At Divine Wrestling's inaugural PPV, Seasons Bleedings, Stevens bloodied and defeated Maddox with ease, pinning him after his From Hell's Heart maneuver. At Saga 3, Stevens defeated Mr. Katz after Katz struck him with a guitar. Stevens chased Katz backstage but nonetheless advanced to the finals against Michael Rissi at Saga 4. Rissi managed to defeat Stevens and hand him his first loss in the company while advancing to Supremacy's Championship Scramble. Stevens will defend his title at the same event in a Triple Threat against Ryan Kelly and Ricky Stanton. Stevens defeated Stanton and Kelly to successfully defend his title after pinning Stanton with his Slam Poetry signature maneuver. At SAGA 5, Stevens teamed with Kelly against Stanton and Misty Vega, pinning Stanton against with his Slam Poetry signature maneuver. At SAGA 6, Stevens teamed with Sophia Alva and Jessica Anderson to defeat the team of Claude Vigor, Misty Vega, and Aiden Balmer after Stevens pinned Balmer with his From Hell's Heart finisher. Ryan Kelly attacked Stevens after the match, but the Pretty Little Flyers interceded to make the save. Later in the evening, Kai interfered in Kelly's match and cost him the win before beating him down for payback. At Bloodshed, Stevens successfully defended the title against Kelly, pinning him after his From Hell's Heart maneuver. Kelly's leg was on the bottom rope but the referee did not see it, prompting Kelly to attack Kai after the match, leave him bleeding, and steal the title. At SAGA 7, Stevens once again successfully defended his title by defeating Ryan Kelly via pinfall. This will be Stevens's final match with the company, as the promotion faces financial difficulties and has postponed competition until the situation is settled.

ALPHA Wrestling, cont. (2019-Present)[]

Year Zero[]

KAIvMORGAN

Stevens successfully defended the title for a fifth time in Detroit, Michigan.

At Ground Zero, Stevens defeated his Challenger in Tyler Morgan via his Katabasis finishing maneuver. Stevens's successful defenses continue his record length title reign. During the main event of the January 23rd episode, Stevens attacked after the double count out, leading to a brawl that prompted the Commissioner to announce a Winner Take All WarGames Match at Break or Be Broken. Stevens was then booked to team with Zakk Night against Tyler Morgan and Graham Baker in the main event of the January 30th episode. When Jake Morgan shockingly appeared from under the ring during the match, he handcuffed Kai to the bottom rope, making him unable to tag into the match or save Night from suffering the pinfall loss resultant of Morgan's Sweet Seattle finisher. After the match, Morgan and Baker revealed an alignment with Samantha Taylor and Zachary Bates, dubbing themselves Immunity. Stevens then went on to defeat Night in a singles match via pinfall. Afterwards, a brawl between the New Age Plague and IMMUNITY culminated with the Commissioner announcing that any further damage accrued by either faction would be paid for out of their paychecks. The following week, Tyler Morgan struck Brian Church down with brass knuckles, causing an all-out brawl that culminated with Samantha Taylor delivering a Sammysault from forty feet in the air. At Break or Be Broken, Stevens and the New Age Plague emerged victorious from the WarGames after Kai pinned Zachary Bates after the team put him through a burning table. The win gave the faction three of the four titles in the company. On the March 6th episode, Stevens teamed with Aaron Arkham to defeat the team of Graham Baker and Zakk Night. On the March 20th episode, Stevens partook in a contract signing segment that led to his delivering of his Firestarter maneuver through both of his contenders and the table upon which they had only just signed said contract. The Commissioner also signed a contract stipulating that the competitors could not be held liable for damages accrued in the triple threat at Ragnarok. Later in the night, the three male representatives of the New Age Plague were defeated by the team of Marcus, Zakk Night, and Dante Payne. At the PPV, Stevens was pinned by Payne to lose the title, ending his 147-day reign.

Zugzwang[]

On the ensuing March 27th episode, Stevens interrupted Dante Payne's celebration to reveal that the contract the Commissioner signed on the 20th awards Stevens a rematch at Fall of Kings in London. Later in the evening, Stevens teamed with Hayley Webb, Aaron Arkham, and Jon Jrygin to earn a victory over the team of Dante Payne, Samantha Taylor, Graham Baker, and Jordan Rattler. On the April 3rd episode, Stevens attacked Payne after his match, brutalizing him with his own title belt. After the attack, the Commissioner announced that their title match in London would be a Ladder Match. Kai next competed in a singles match against Marcus on the April 10th episode, pinning him with his From Hell's Heart finishing maneuver. On the April 17th episode, Stevens teamed with Hayley Webb in a losing effort against Dante Payne and Yoshino Nakano when Nakano pinned Webb. On the same episode, Stevens and the rest of his stable attacked and injured Payne's girlfriend and manager, Morticia Harlow. She will be unable to accompany Payne to the ring at Fall of Kings. At the PPV, Stevens was mere inches away from pulling the title down and becoming the first-ever two-time ALPHA World Heavyweight Champion when Brian Church betrayed Kai by tipping the ladder over and sending Kai plummeting through an announcing table. Payne climbed the ladder and retrieved the title subsequently. On the April 24th episode, Stevens began his 2019 Gauntlet of Glory by facing Aaron Taylor. Prior to the match, he hit the ring and demanded answers from Church to no avail. Before the match could end, Stevens and Taylor were attacked by Jairo Sterling, Jr. and his debuting Raspberry Vice stable, costing both competitors the match. The draw awarded both Taylor and Kai one point in the standings. The following week, Stevens addressed his opponent and Church simultaneously before facing Graham Baker for the tournament. Stevens was hit with a chair by Church before the match could end, awarding Kai the disqualification victory and two more points in the standings, moving up to second place. After the bell, Church beat Kai down and hit his Church Bells finisher for the first time in years before trying to set Stevens on fire. Security pulled him away and Hayley Webb pulled Kai to safety. Stevens and Webb argued later in the show and Webb slapped him across the face. Kai faced former ALPHA Wrestling Spirit Champion Jordan Rattler on May 8th, earning the victory by pinfall. After the match, Church came out and Stevens rushed him only for it to backfire and Church to knock him out on the stage. Later in the night, Stevens was overheard on the phone with someone, which later on unfolded as Athena Veronica. Kai apologized to her before Hayley Webb walked in and argued with Kai. At the end of the show, Stevens saved Hayley from an attack by Sara Daniels, nearly being knocked out himself. His win propels him to first place in the B Block. The next week, however, Stevens was defeated by Jairo Sterling, Jr. following interference by Raspberry Vice and dropped to a tie for second place with Aaron Taylor. Despite submitting Ivar Ragnarsson on the May 22nd episode, Stevens failed to win his block when Jairo Sterling, Jr. defeated Jordan Rattler later in the night. After his match with Ragnarsson, Stevens was attacked backstage by Brian Church, who declared that Stevens will be all his at Ascendance despite what the doctors say.

Clean Slate[]

STEVENSvCHURCH

Stevens defeated his mentor at Ascendance.

At the PPV, Stevens opened the show by demanding the match begin there and then. He went on to pin Brian Church after his renamed Hadley's Hope finisher. On the May 29th episode, Stevens failed to earn entry into the Chase for the Case match at Gods Among Us after a returning George Anton attacked Stevens to allow Jon Jrygin to pin him and win entry. The following week, Stevens contended for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship against Zakk Night. Despite visibly obtaining at least a three count, Kai failed to win the title when the official hesitated and didn't make the full three count. Night demanded the match restart after seeing the replay, but the official denied the request. In an exclusive video uploaded to the ALPHA Wrestling website, Stevens challenged George Anton to a New Age Deathmatch at Gods Among Us, which Anton accepted. After the June 12th episode, Stevens and Anton were simultaneously interviewed via satellite on ESPN's Coast-to-Coast segment. On the June 19th episode, Stevens teamed with his girlfriend Hayley Webb in a mixed tag team match against Aaron Arkham and Io Ishimori. They lost when Arkham low blowed Kai at ringside and hit a tag team finisher with Io upon Hayley. After the match, George Anton attacked Stevens and handcuffed him to the ropes to hit his Trepanation finisher ten times, leaving Kai unconscious and covered in blood next to Hayley. Over the weekend, Stevens attacked Anton in retribution and left him in a similar state. On the June 26th episode, Stevens won his fiftieth match in the company by pinning Marcus. At Gods Among Us, Stevens defeated George Anton in his second-ever New Age Deathmatch, pinning him with an Avalanche variation of his From Hell's Heart finisher through a burning table into the steel floor.

Judge, Jury, and Executioner[]

On the one year anniversary episode on July 3rd, Kai interrupted a Jon Jrygin in-ring segment and laid down a challenge for Killer Instinct II. Stevens then teamed with Aaron Arkham in a losing effort against Graham Baker and Jon Jrygin on the July 10th episode after a Low Blow by Baker. On July 17th, Jrygin served as guest referee and helped Jairo Sterling, Jr. steal a win from Stevens. At Killer Instinct II, Stevens eventually succumbed to Jrygin's Dreamkiller finisher after a back-and-forth contest. On the July 31st episode, Stevens was pinned by Aaron Arkham in a four-way contest, failing to earn an opportunity to compete in that night's main event for the Number One Contendership to the ALPHA World Heavyweight Championship. On the August 7th episode, Stevens will face Thrive to Survive winner Aaron Taylor. During the match, Jairo Sterling, Jr. attacked both competitors and caused a No Contest. Stevens fended Sterling off and would team with Taylor on the 14th to face Jairo and Aaron Arkham. At the end of this match, Stevens tagged himself in and pinned Jairo. At The Mighty Don't Kneel (2019), Stevens fell to Aaron Taylor in a triple threat involving Sterling after hitting his finisher on Jairo and turning into Taylor's patented finishing strike. On the August 28th episode, Stevens participated in the main event, his team of five winning the elimination-style matchup against Team Jrygin. A week later on the September 4th show, Kai defeated Tommy Saxon in singles competition to increase his win streak to two. After a stirring in-ring promo remembering the day eighteen years earlier on the September 11th episode, Stevens fell in tag team competition to Orion Ramsey and Jairo Sterling, Jr. A week later, Kai was pinned by a roll-up from Jon Jrygin in singles competition, leaving him without momentum heading into Storm The Throne (2019). However, at the PPV, Stevens defeated Jairo cleanly, pinning him after his From Hell's Heart finishing maneuver.

A Second Termination Chamber and Departure[]

He continued off of this momentum by defeating Aaron Arkham in the Co-Main Event of the September 25th show, earning a place in the Termination Chamber at State of Emergency (2019). On the October 2nd episode, Stevens teamed with Aaron Taylor and Orion Ramsey against the other three men in the aforementioned Chamber (Jrygin, Sterling, Jr., and Baker), failing to earn a victory after Ramsey was pinned. At the first-ever ICW Summit, Stevens defeated Liz Karlson to become the Number One Contender to the ICW World Heavyweight Championship, which would be won by Orion Ramsey later in the night. He is next to face Orion in singles competition on the October 9th episode, where a win would enter him into the main event triple threat to help determine entry order for the Termination Chamber. Ramsey defeated Stevens at this point, costing Kai the chance to determine the entry order. Ramsey’s victory later in the night during the main event awarded Stevens the opportunity to enter the chamber second-to-last, ahead of only Ramsey, himself. Kai teamed with Aaron Taylor on October 16th to defeat the team of Orion Ramsey and Jairo Sterling, Jr. At State of Emergency, Stevens eliminated Jairo with his Hadley’s Hope finisher before Graham Baker eliminated Stevens with his Shooting Star Double Knee Drop maneuver. Kai would next compete in a victory over debuting Jimmy Venom on October 23rd before teaming with Graham Baker to defeat the team of Jon Jrygin and Orion Ramsey on the October 30th edition. Stevens would not earn another victory in 2019 with ALPHA Wrestling, falling to Noah Washington on November 6th before failing to win the ICW World Heavyweight Championship from Orion Ramsey at Death Before Defeat on November 17th. After the loss, Stevens was attacked by Ramsey’s Church of Samhain faction and reinjured his left shoulder. This would be Stevens’s final appearance with the company until 2020.

Strong Style Wrestling (2019-Present)[]

Revival and SSW Daimyo[]

Shortly after his departure from ALPHA Wrestling, Stevens left the United States to reunite with the revival of Strong Style Wrestling, where he had enjoyed a successful stint in 2018, including a championship reign. At To The Grand Line on November 23rd, Stevens fought through his shoulder issues to defeated Nobi to earn one of the three slots in the main event, in which the new SSW Puroresu World Heavyweight Champion would be crowned. In the main event, Stevens faced Jacob Senn and Aria Jaxon in a losing effort after a match of the year candidate that Senn emerged victorious from. On the December 7th episode of SSW TV, Stevens hit the ring in his capacity as SSW Daimyo after the main event and laid out Jaxon, Darkane, Nasir Moore, and Brian Daniels, leading to Daniels and Moore returning the favor on the December 21st episode of SSW TV. Masanori Kawada, the other Daimyo, ran out to help successfully even the odds for Stevens. Kai would suffer his second defeat since returning to Japan on the same episode, falling to Noah Reigner in a match to crown the next contender for the world title. On the January 11th installment of SSW TV, Stevens declared his intentions to claim the ¥3,000,000,000 bounty on Brian Daniels before defeated Tony Tony later in the night for his second victory since returning. Daniels would attack Stevens following the culmination of the match, leading to Chairman Kami Oda officially sanctioning Kai’s bounty hunt on Daniels. At Blood Moon on February 8th, Stevens defeated Daniels to successfully claim his bounty after hanging Daniels over the ring ropes with the rope he then used to trap Daniels in the center of the ring. On the February 22nd episode of SSW TV, Kami Oda announced that in addition to winning the ¥3,000,000,000 by defeating Brian Daniels, he also won the SSW Intercontinental Championship to become its inaugural champion. The title is his second in his SSW career. After receiving the new title belt, Stevens was attacked from behind by Wil Pierce, who would become the number one contender to the title by defeating Kenta Saru, Tony Tony, and Graham Baker in a Fatal Four-Way match on March 7th’s episode of SSW TV. Kai would return the favor on the March 21st episode, attacking Pierce from behind; their brawl led to Pierce laying Kai out with the title and his Final Vent finishing maneuver. For payback, Kai interfered in the April 4th episode’s tag team match pitting Noah Reigner and Graham Baker against Aria Jaxon and Wil Pierce, removing Pierce from the match to allow Noah and Graham to take the win. At Supremacy, Stevens successfully defended his title against Pierce after defeating him with the From Hell’s Heart finisher. On the May 2nd episode of SSW TV, Stevens’s celebration of his defense was interrupted by Maverick, who convinced Kai to agree to defend his title at the upcoming pay-per-view event. At Dragon Soul, Stevens made his second successful defense of the title by defeating Maverick with his Apocalypse Now finisher. He is next scheduled to compete in a third title defense on May 30th’s episode of SSW against Stark. In Kai’s third defense of the title, he once again emerged victorious, pinning Stark. After the bout, the two appeared poised to smoke a joint together but Maverick attacked the two. On the June 6th episode of SSW Shinden, Stevens had a sit-down interview with Saya Takada, where Kai addressed his possible contenders. In the ensuing Number One Contendership five-way, Scott Oasis eliminated TV Know, Maverick eliminated Oasis, and Jacob Senn, who Kai failed to defeat at To The Grand Line, eliminated Maverick to become the new contender to Kai’s title, guaranteeing a match between the two at Wrestle Spirit. Leading into the PPV, the two competitors opted to put even more stakes on the line: Senn offers his career and position as Shogun of SSW, Stevens offers his title and place as a Daimyo of SSW. At Wrestle Spirit, Senn defeated Stevens in a brutal contest. On July 11th in the first round of the 2020 Heaven’s Arena Cup, Stevens defeated Khmaoch Sângkât via pinfall. At the Attack on New York Hype Show, Stevens defeated Maverick to earn a spot in the Finals the same night, where he defeated Scott Oasis to win the tournament and become number one contender. At Golden Wind on August 23rd, Stevens defeated Aria Jaxon to become the SSW Puroresu World Champion for the first time in his career.

ALPHA Wrestling, cont. (2019-Present)[]

Return and Face Turn[]

At Break or Be Broken, Stevens made his return to ALPHA Wrestling to save his recently returned girlfriend, Hayley Webb from a sledgehammer-fueled attack by Samantha Taylor. He would make his in-ring return to the company three days later on the February 26th episode, teaming with Webb to defeat ANGELO and Taylor. They would follow up this tag team victory by defeating Jimmy Venom and Priscilla Venom in another mixed tag team match on March 4th, earning the power couple a shot at the ALPHA World Tag Team Championship against No Vacancy on the March 11th episode, though they would fail to win the titles. At Ragnarok, Jimmy Venom would defeat Kai in the first round of the three day tournament, giving Kai his first singles match and singles defeat alike since returning. Kai would defeat Prince Bowen on the March 25th episode following a distraction by Lexi Gold and Devon Slayton. Adding to his consecutive victories, Kai teamed with Aaron Taylor and defeated the team of ALPHA World Heavyweight Champion Jon Jrygin and Jay O’Neil on the April 1st episode. On the April 8th installment, Stevens teamed with Jordan Rattler and Jimmy Venom in a losing effort against the team of Casino, Marcus, and ALPHA Zenith Champion Kyle Boe. Continuing his trend of being booked in tag team contests, Stevens teamed with Boe on the April 15th episode, defeating the team of Harry Sterling and Jimmy Venom. On the same show, Stevens challenged Sterling to a match at Fall of Kings, a challenge Sterling accepted. At the PPV on April 19th, Stevens and Sterling fought to a draw when Kai’s reversal of Sterling’s submission finisher led to both men’s shoulders being on the mat at the same time.

2020 Gauntlet of Glory[]

KAIvHARRY

Stevens competed in his first Gauntlet of Glory Finals at Ascendance.

The April 22nd episode began the 2020 Gauntlet of Glory tournament, and Stevens had been announced for the A-Block. Becoming the sole record holder for career appearances in the tournament at three, Stevens went on to defeat ALPHA Zenith Champion Jimmy Venom on the April 22nd episode, defeat Kyle Boe on the April 29th episode, lose to Jordan Rattler on the May 6th installment, defeat Graham Baker on the May 13th episode, and then to lose to Aaron Taylor on the May 20th installment. With his loss to Taylor and Jimmy Venom’s loss to Graham Baker earlier in the same night, a four-way tie without a clear tiebreaker led to a first-ever sixth match in the A-Block, where Taylor eliminated Venom, Baker eliminated Taylor, and Stevens pinned Baker to earn his 50th victory with the company and win the block and go on to the finals at Ascendance. At the PPV on May 24th, Harry Sterling defeated Kai Stevens to win the 2020 Gauntlet of Glory Finals. After competing in the finals, Stevens earned numerous records for the tournament, including the all-time best win record, all-time most appearances, all-time most points accrued, all-time most wins accrued, and a tie for most finals appearances. On the May 27th episode, Stevens announced his intentions to take the next step in his ALPHA Wrestling career: winning a title at Gods Among Us II. ALPHA Zenith Champion Jimmy Venom responded to the announcement and challenged Kai to a 2 Out of 3 Falls match for the title, which Stevens accepted. A week later on the June 3rd installment, Kai was defeated in a singles match by Skyler Renshaw, leading to Kai admitting he does not believe he deserves the contendership and wants to earn it. His desire was understood by the company and Stevens is set to face Casino on the June 10th episode to determine Venom’s challenger for the PPV. Stevens defeated Casino and went on to team with Venom on the June 24th episode, taking on Jay O’Neil and Aaron Taylor. The match went to a no contest. At Gods Among Us II, Stevens earned the first and final falls in a Two Out of Three Falls match to become the new ALPHA Zenith Champion for the first time in his career. Three nights later on the July 1st episode, Stevens successfully made his first defense of the title by defeating 2020 Prospect Cup Winner Rich Gatsby by pinfall. A week later on the 8th, Stevens was defeated by Orion Ramsey in a Street Fight after outside interference, his first loss since June 3rd. On the July 15th episode, Stevens defeated Jason Baast in a non-title singles match. He capitalized on the win by defeating Jordan Rattler with the title on the line at Killer Instinct, though he went on to lose in the Thrive to Survive match later that night. After Gatsby was named his next challenger, Kai teamed with him in a losing effort on the August 12th episode when the Sin Eaters pinned Gatsby, who had tagged himself in. Kai later defeated Gatsby at The Mighty Don’t Kneel.

Unlimited Class Combat League (2020)[]

Appearance[]

On July 21st, Kai debuted for UCCL by defeating Ryan Connors on the third night of their second monthly tour. On Night #4, Kai pinned Graham Baker in a triple threat involving Jon Jrygin. The company went on hiatus before his next match.

Personal Life[]

Stevens is of Canadian and American descent and is the second of four children. His parents divorced in 2005, though his father remarried in 2006. His blood parents are George and Elizabeth Stevens, while his stepmother is Joy Stevens. He has one blood brother who is older, Matthew Stevens. He also has two younger stepbrothers, Nicholas and Jimmy Warner.

Coming from a quaint but beautiful town on Long Island, New York, the majority of his exposure to professional wrestling would be at Madison Square Garden in New York City or even at the Westbury Theater in Westbury, New York, where he saw Total Nonstop Action Wrestling live twice. The first time he'd gone, he got to meet AJ Styles and Kurt Angle and take pictures with them in the ring, which sparked something within him. He admittedly modeled his technical wrestling after Angle and his aerial athleticism after Styles.

Stevens is the legitimate Godfather to Brian Church's children. Outside of the wrestling industry, Stevens became good friends with Ana Somnia and her family.

He dated fellow ALPHA Wrestling superstar Athena Veronica until mid-December in 2018. He subsequently entered into a relationship with Veronica's former rival, Hayley Webb, with whom he remains dating to this day.
