A Japanese Death Match is the signature match of of Yoshino Nakano, and is known as one of the most dangerous matches in all of pro wrestling. The first, pitted Yoshino against long time rival, Pan Meredith, who was the disciple of vampire, Winter. After spending years feuding, it came to an end when Yoshino defeated, and ended the career of Pan in 2016. The next most high profile version came at the end of 2018, in ALPHA Wrestling, when Yoshino and Samantha Taylor feued over the ALPHA Women's Championship. The two had feuded for a while, Samantha tricking Yoshino by pretending to be in love with her. She then attempted to have her sister do the same, which backfired when Yoshino kidnapped her "girlfriend". This lead to Yoshino challenging Samantha to the match up, vowing to end her career. Samantha won this match by ten count. The third, also in Alpha, was between two Japanese women, Yoshino, and Io Ishimori. This time, it was Io who put out the challenge, whilst they fueded over a plush that was named "Yoshi". Yoshino thought it was named after her, leading to the feud. This one was a standard Death Match, and ended in pinfall. Vanessa Scott and Japanese wrestler Matsuno Honami attempted to have a Japanese Death Match on August 28, 2019 at a independent event set up by Alpha wrestler Shane Holliday, however due to owning the rights to the match, Yoshino would issue a law suit, which cancelled the match. When finding out, Honami and Vanessa were pissed, and Yoshino gave them three options to do the match, either pay her $500,000 each, put her in the match, or date her. They opted to put her in the match, which lead to a triple threat elimination match at Storm The Throne (2019), which Yoshino would win.

After Yoshino returned from injury in October 2021 to torment Lexi Gold, her previous ally who had since turned psycho with Yoshino claiming that Lexi was copying her, Yoshino challenged her to a Japanese Deathmatch stating that the "fake Yoshino" could never defeat Yoshino in her own match. The match took place on the November 17th episode of Alpha Wrestling with Lexi winning, though after the match Yoshino attacked Lexi so vicouously she was taken out of a stretcher and put her out of action with injuy.

The location of the match doesn't actually matter, as all that matters is Yoshino is involved.

Rules[]

The rules have been different each time it has taken place, and usually just depend on the whims of Yoshino. The first was a falls count anywhere, no DQ submission match, the second added the ten count from a last man standing match, whilst the third included pinfalls. The 4th and 5th were standard deathmatch rules.
