Jacob Smith (born November 9, 1985), better known as Jake Smith, is an American professional wrestler currently signed to Elite Answers Wrestling where he competes on the Dynasty brand.

Early life[]

Smith was born in a wealthy family whose names are undisclosed to the public. He gained sudden interest in wrestling when at the age of 12 and "never kept his eyes off of it". At the age of 16, he dropped out of high school and began competing for local indie federations looking to build his stock and become one of the greats.

Elite Answers Wrestling (2018-present)[]

Battleground (October 2018 - December 2018)[]

On October 28th, 2018, Smith signed with Elite Answers Wrestling and was then put on Battleground, their developmental territory. He made his debut on November 5th, 2018 in a match against Miles Thatcher, in which he won in mere seconds. Later, his soon to be partner, Joshua Nicholls signed to the company on November 20th, 2018. Nicholls was also put on the Battleground brand to coincide with Smith and instantly, they made a team known as The Revolution. They racked up victory after victory as a tag team at the last show of Battleground, Wildcard on December 10th, 2018, they lost to the team of Bowie Gray and The Visual Prophet.

Showdown Debut (December 2018 - March 2019)[]

On December 15th, following Wildcard and the end of the Battleground brand, The Revolution made their debut on Saturday Night Showdown where they beat The Dragon Slayers (Michael Shaw & Samuel Steele). Smith had his own singles ambitions for a short period of time as he went on to be in the TLC fatal-four-way for the Interwire Championship on a weekly episode of Showdown along with Jax Walker and Solomon, losing to the reigning champ, Malcolm Jones. The Revolution afterwards then beat Jack Haze and Cody Marshall for a chance to fight for the Unified Tag Team Championships at Under Siege 2019 against The Jaded Hearts (Kassidy Heart & Sienna Jade), which they fought to a losing effort.

The Round Table (March 2019 - June 2019)[]

Smith then aligned himself with Drake King, Jax Walker, and Joshua Nicholls to create The Round Table on the same event that Smith and Nicholls lost their shot at the Unified Tag Team Championships, Under Siege 2019. When Smith, Nicholls, and Walker helped King beat Malcolm Jones to win the Interwire Championship. Smith and his partner then got an opportunity to fight once again for Unified Tag Team Championships at Grand Rampage 2019 where they, along with The Jaded Hearts lost to The Wildcards (Xander Payne & Myles). After that The Revolution would get their last shot at the Unified Tag Team Championships at Pain for Pride XII where they fought in a Winner Take All Match for the Unified Tag Team Championships & Empire Tag Team Championships. In the end The Revolution, along with The Wildcards, and The Flo Bros (Crosby Carter & Thadd Blazevich) lost to the team of Heavenly Hell (Minerva & Constance Blevins) for the both of them to win the Unified Tag Team Championships. Afterwards at the EAW Draft 2019, The Revolution then disbanded after Drake King kicked Joshua Nicholls out of the Round Table and Jake continued to align himself with King

Dynasty Season 13 (June 2019 - October 2019)[]

Smith was later drafted to Friday Night Dynasty in the EAW Draft 2019 along with fellow Round Table teammate, Drake King, where he fought on the brand for a good couple of months. Right out of the gate at Dynasty's first Free-Per-View of the Season, Operation: Doomsday 2019, he got a match against National Elite Champion, Jack Ripley which he fought to a losing effort. Smith quotes that match as a "turning point" in his career. He continued to move onto Territorial Invasion 2019 in the Divide & Conquer match which was changed to an impromptu New Breed Championship title shot after a incident in the New Breed Championship title match consisting of Felix Hartley, Kai Zolomon, and Archimedes J. Manson earlier in the night. While fighting to a losing effort, losing to Jenny Cien in the final two, Smith was a standout amongst the rest having had the most eliminations in the match.

Return to Showdown/First PURE Championship Reign (October 2019 - March 2020)[]

Jake Smith on a Showdown Episode in 2019

During an episode of Dynasty, it was announced that Jake was traded away from Dynasty to the Showdown brand once more, coming as a shock to him and Round Table partner, Drake King. He made his return to Showdown confronting the PURE Champion at the time, Mark Michaels, and challenging him to a match at Battle of Egypt 2019. Jake went on to then win the PURE Championship at the Free-Per-View and gain his 1st PURE Championship reign of 2. Smith had only one defense of the PURE Championship which was at Reasonable Doubt 2020 against Mark Michaels (who cashed in his "rematch clause") and Santo Muerte in the first ever PURE Triple Threat match. Smith ultimately lost against Harlow Reichert at Road To Redemption 2019, ending his reign as PURE Champion. Smith was persistent despite his defeat though, as he would then go on to fight for the PURE Championship again at King of Elite 2020 against Reichert once more, but once again, coming up short despite his boastings.

Second PURE Championship Reign/Love Triangle (March 2020 - June 2020)[]

At Under Siege 2020, Smith joined the PURE Gauntlet after constant targeting's from Lance Blackfyre throughout the weeks leading up to it, and took the PURE Championship away from Harlow Reichert, marking his 2nd PURE Championship reign, tied with StarrStan for most reigns of the title. Smith then went on with the title to Grand Rampage 2020 where he defended against Lance Blackfyre, needing the help of newfound "protégé" Alexis Chambers to get him the victory. While that happened Smith developed a relationship with fellow EAW Elitist, Dr. Bethany Blue, while him and Chambers were also teasing something as well. At Odyssey 2020 Smith was pulling double duty as, teaming with Chambers, the both of them lost to the team of Harlow Reichert and Xavier Williams. Later on in the night though Smith retained his PURE Championship once again against Lucas Johnson and Shane Gates in a Triple Threat match for the title. During the show he also caught the eye of Xander Payne, both of them having a heated confrontation to allude to a future PURE Championship match between the two of them.

But before that could happen Alexis Chambers and Dr. Bethany Blue's bad blood came to ahead as Smith managed to "brainwash" them into fighting for his love and fighting at Pain For Pride XIII in an absolutely degrading mud wrestling match. Before Pain For Pride however Smith defended his PURE Championship against Showdown General Manager, Ryan Wilson who banned Chambers from interfering, but in the end Smith still came out on top with an interference by Ahren Fournier in the process. After the mud wrestling match between Chambers and Blue at Pain For Pride, which ended with Smith getting thrown into the mud pit after being exposed by Sunday Night Voltage commentator, Persephone that it was all a $12 dollar bet between him and fellow Showdown elitist, Bronson Daniels, he went on to the next day to defend his PURE Championship against Xander Payne. Both of them had a stellar match on the Grandest Stage of them all but in the end, Smith lost his Championship to Xander marking the end of his 2nd PURE Championship reign in the process.

Redraft to Showdown/Season 14 Beginnings (July 2020 - September 2020)[]

After Pain For Pride, Smith, at the start of Season 14, was redrafted to Showdown in the EAW Draft 2020 along with his tag partner Bronson Daniels of The Mile-High Club. He started off the season in a Number One Contendership match for the Answers World Championship competing against Dr. Bethany Blue, Cage, and Lethal Consequences. Smith did not come out victorious that night as LC pinned Cage and Smith pulled Bethany out of the ring before she could break up the pin. Smith then moved on to Territorial Invasion 2020 where he was on Team Showdown for the Brand Warfare matchup. Team Showdown lost that match though as in the end it was Team Voltage that pulled out the win over them.

Trade to Dynasty (September 2020 - December 2020)[]

On September 2020, it was announced that Smith was traded for Andrea Valentine in a trade that marked Smith's first time on the Dynasty brand since 2019, which he quoted (regarding his 2019 run) as one of the "lowest points in his Elite Answers Wrestling career". He started off by challenging Lethal Consequences, who was coming off of a devastating loss against Jamie O'Hara at Territorial Invasion 2020, in a match in which LC accepted. They both faced off at House of Glass 2020 in 10,000 Shards match, which Smith came out victorious in. He then moved on to challenge returning Vic Vendetta, who he criticized for taking his spot as "Dynasty's hottest commodity". Smith then went on to beat the Hall of Famer in a match at Road To Redemption 2020, regarded as one of Smith's biggest wins to date.

Insurgency (December 2020 - Present)[]

At A Sweet Swedish-Saudi Christmas Miracle, the last EAW event of 2020, Smith along with Limmy Monaghan and MITSUBACHI beat the team of Jon Kelton, Showdown General Manager Ryan Wilson, and Maxwell after Maxwell betrayed Team Showdown and aligned himself with Smith and Monaghan. The trio became known as Insurgency as Maxwell bought out his Showdown contract using the money he won from the Extreme Enigma Battle Royal. Later on the trio was joined by Donovan Duke as Insurgency wrecked havoc throughout the Dynasty roster, targeting the likes of SEBAS, Adam Lucas, the previously mentioned MITSUBACHI, and more. At King of Elite 2021, while Monaghan, Duke, and Maxwell went onto defeat Lucas, MITSUBACHI, and Showdown elitist James Ranger. Smith fought a losing effort in a triple threat match consisting of him, Consuela Rose Ava, and Drake King where despite Insurgency interference, King pulled out the win. Smith is billed to face EAW Chairman Mr. DEDEDE at Reckless Wiring 2021.
