History of the Lock Wrestling Federation

2001

LWF opened on April 9, 2001 with the Elite Eight Tournament, a one night tournament featuring the original eight members of LWF, Badass Bob, Ghostdad, Iceman, Lock, Phoenix, Samson Morris, Therion, and TMA. The night ended with Iceman defeating Phoenix to become the first LWF World Champion, as a result of a union between Iceman and Lock. They would soon be joined by Therion to form The Regime. Phoenix and TMA worked together against them as Badass Bob feuded with Lock, but the Regime arranged for Phoenix and TMA to face each other to determine the first Cross-Hemisphere Champion, a match won by Phoenix. At Maul, Iceman successfully defended the World Title against TMA, and Phoenix lost the Cross-Hemisphere Title to Therion in the first ever Inferno Pit Match.

April Debuts: Aphrodite, Big Dick Togo, Crow, Gun Metal, Sgt. Savage

Badass Bob teamed together with Sgt. Savage as the Icebreakers as Phoenix and TMA worked separately against the Regime, as Lexus debuted as Phoenix’s manager, herself feuding with Aphrodite of the Regime, and Lexus would go on to defeat her at Resurrection to win the Women’s Title. Also at Resurrection, the Ghetto Boyz became the first LWF Tag Team Champions, and Phoenix defeated Iceman in a Cage Match to win the World Title, but not without consequence, as a jealous TMA betrayed his friend and joined the Regime.

May Debuts: CoolJ, Eric Valoria, Lexus, Xecutioner

Xecutioner joined the Regime as an enforcer for Lock, as the Icebreakers continued to frustrate the group by Savage stealing the Cross-Hemisphere Title. Lock continuously abused his power, changing the stipulations of matches to benefit the members of the Regime. Badass Bob became the first Havok Champion by winning a hardcore melee, but lost his first title defense to Xecutioner due to interference by Lock. The Regime captured Lexus and forced Phoenix to watch her torture, but Therion turned on the group and helped Phoenix save her, and the duo became known as Fire and Brimstone. Lock punished him for doing so, ensuring that Therion lost the Cross-Hemisphere Title to TMA, but he wouldn’t be without gold for long, as Fire and Brimstone defeated the Ghetto Boyz at Lord of the Ring to win the Tag Titles. Also at Lord of the Ring, Badass Bob officially became the Commissioner of LWF by defeated Lock in a Last Man Standing Match. His first official act was to change the final match of the Lord of the Ring Tournament to a No Disqualification Match after Iceman had won by DQ, leading to Sgt. Savage defeating Iceman to become the first Lord of the Ring.

June Debuts: None

In Lock’s absence, Badass Bob began to turn the tables on the Regime, leading to Iceman himself challenging him for the commissionership. The match ended in shocking fashion as Lock returned an aligned himself with the commissioner, who now wanted to be known by his feel name, Robert Ooley. Iceman was thrown out of the Regime. Together as the Puppet Masters, Lock and Ooley defeated Fire and Brimstone to win the Tag Titles. CoolJ, Iceman, Savage, and newcomer Rage came together to form the Authority, but Lock tore apart the group with the revelation that one of them was a traitor, revealed to be Savage, now working as a hitman for hire, and as part of his payment he received a Cross-Hemisphere Title shot against CoolJ in a No Holds Barred Match at Revolution, a match which he won. Also at Revolution, the World Title fell back into the hands of the Regime, as TMA pinned Iceman to win a triple threat match, ending Phoenix’s title reign.

July Debuts: Bjork Lamphead, Black Rose, Curmanian Devil, Face Duffer Ish, Fear, Joe Fantasy, Psycho Charlie, Rage

Lock and Ooley brought in Psycho Charlie to LWF, intending to use him against the Authority, but when he proved too unstable they assigned BDT to be his manager and washed their hands of him. Savage abruptly announced his retirement, vacating the Cross-Hemisphere Title, and an eight man tournament was announced to determine a new champion. Former rivals Phoenix and Iceman teamed together as Fire and Ice to win the Tag Team Championship. A three way stable war emerged between the Authority, the Regime, and the Valoria Family, which would come to a head at Meltdown, when TMA successfully defended the World Title in a Steel Cage against CoolJ and Ghostdad. Also at Meltdown, Crow defeated Psycho Charlie in the finals of the Cross-Hemisphere tournament, Psiko won his first Havok Title, and Fear pulled off a shocking upset over Xecutioner, due to interference by Phoenix, which would soon cost him dearly.

August Debuts: Evildeathro, Flame Demon, Monoxide, Psiko

Xecutioner targeted Phoenix, and captured Lexus, threatening to sacrifice her unless Phoenix offered up himself in her stead. When he did so, she betrayed him and joined Xecutioner and his new partner, Flame Demon. In a match pitting the World Champion against the Cross-Hemisphere Champion, TMA defeated Crow to win both championships, leading to a two-fall Fatal Fourway match in which he defended both titles against Crow, Phoenix, and Xecutioner. While TMA successfully retained the Cross-Hemisphere Title, he lost the World Title when Xecutioner pinned Phoenix with the help of Ghostdad and Curmanian Devil, now known as Team Future. Along with Flame Demon and Lexus, the group became known as the Fallen, and the group increased once more when Phoenix recruited a returning Therion to help him, only for Therion to betray him to the Fallen as well. CoolJ and Monoxide were the co-winners of a battle royal, and faced each other to determine the first People’s Champion, a match that CoolJ won to the disgust of Lock, who made certain that he lost his first title defense to Evildeathro. CoolJ would go on to defeat Lock at Vengeance. Also at Vengeance, two former champions regained their titles, when Psiko won his second Havok Title when he defeated Monoxide in a Ladder Match, and Crow defeated TMA in a Last Man Standing Match to win back the Cross-Hemisphere Title. In the second Inferno Pit Match in LWF history, the Fallen worked as a unit to help Xecutioner retain the World Title, but Therion was revealed to have been loyal to Phoenix all along, and with the odds finally even, Phoenix defeated Xecutioner to become the first 2-Time World Champion in LWF history.

September Debuts: Camero, Mister Jim, Ruff Rabbi

The night after Vengeance, CoolJ stunned the Authority and joined the Regime. Together as Team Obliteration, CoolJ and TMA won the Tag Titles. Iceman continued his crusade against the Regime, and dropped a block of ice on a limousine containing Commissioner Ooley. With Ooley out of the way, Iceman challenged Lock to a Loser Leaves LWF match and defeated him, becoming the new Commissioner in the process. With Iceman now in charge, Ghostdad was stripped of the Cross-Hemisphere Title for defying his authority, and Crow and Psycho Charlie of the Authority defeated Team Obliteration for the Tag Titles, but these decisions were overturned by the return of Ooley, who revealed that due to Iceman having put him out of action, Iceman’s match with Lock was unsanctioned, invalidating the result. Ghostdad and Team Obliteration had their championships returned to them, and a triumphant Lock returned as well, but Iceman would attain a measure of revenge at Day of Reckoning, when he overcame the presence of Lock as Special Enforcer to defeat CoolJ. Also at Day of Reckoning, Phoenix and TMA finally had their one on one match for the World Title, and Phoenix successfully retained the championship.

October Debuts: Alan Fernandez, Arelas, Phatty McNasty

TMA began to claim that he was the true leader of the Regime, a claim that incurred the wrath of Lock, who felt the loss at Day of Reckoning was an unacceptable failure, despite Lock himself having attacked both men during the match. TMA openly resented the opportunities being given to newer talents, such as Psiko, whom Phoenix had taken under his wing, and Arelas, a man claiming to be a crusader of true justice, pursued the Fallen. In the first annual Outlast tournament, a series of eight man tag team matches were held. The Regime defeated the Authority with CoolJ outlasting, the People’s Alliance defeated the Fallen with Psiko outlasting, and Arelas outlasted in the third and final preliminary matches. The three advanced to the main event, where Phoenix defeated them to retain the World Title, but three new stars had been made.

November Debuts: None

Arelas carried his momentum into a title match against Evildeathro, where he won the People’s Title, and CoolJ defeated Psiko to become the new #1 contender to the World Title. CoolJ would pull off a shocking upset and defeated Phoenix for the World Title after a frustrated Iceman rejoined the Regime. With CoolJ as the champion and TMA as the new #1 contender, the Puppet Masters had a decision to make, and TMA was cast out of the Regime for putting his personal goals against those of the faction. Meanwhile, a new partnership was made when current Alan Fernandez befriended the bizarre and paranoid Fear, with the duo becoming known as Freak Show central. Commissioner Ooley and Psiko began a game of one upping each other, with each finding creative ways to give the other a bicycle helmet, following Ooley’s warning that Psiko would need one to protect himself from Ooley and his favorite baseball bat, a rivalry that lead to the first Louisville Helmet match at Betrayal, which Psiko won by placing the helmet on Ooley’s head and hitting him with the bat. Evildeathro was crowned the first Lightheavyweight Champion, and a four person, two title Ladder Match saw Arelas retain the People’s Title, and Lock himself win the Cross-Hemipshere Title. Iceman and Phoenix faced off in a Cage Match, a rematch from Resurrection, but this time Iceman was victorious when Lock pulled him through the cage door. In a brutal No Holds Barred Match, CoolJ proved that the Puppet Masters had made the right choice, when he defeated TMA to retain the World Title.

December Debuts: Emperor, Machine

In the final weeks of 2001, Savage made his return to LWF, joined with Arelas and Crow against the Regime as the Warriors, but Phoenix refused to formally join the group, hesitant to trust others in the wake of repeated betrayals. CoolJ struggled to avoid rising contender Psiko, and also struggled to remember to zip his fly while leaving the bathroom, but in the main event of the final broadcast of the year, he pinned Crow to retain the World Title.

2002

Psiko’s streak of victories earned him the #1 contendership in spite of CoolJ’s attempts to stop him. Xecutioner returned to once again lead the Fallen, a group that now included Ruff Rabbi. At the Massive Melee, the Winged Ones face the Puppet Masters in a match with three different titles on the line, and Crow pinned Ooley to win the Havok Title and retain the Tag Titles for his team. Lock escaped with the Cross-Hemisphere Title intact. Psiko came up short in his challenge to CoolJ for the World Title, and the first ever Massive Melee was won by Phoenix, who eliminated Xecutioner last and earned the right to face the World Champion at Lockmania.

January Debuts: Anarchist, Big Pimpin, Whiplash

Phoenix continued to take Psiko under his wing and the two worked together to take on the Demonic Phenomenon, and at one point turned the tables on Xecutioner and hung him from his own symbol, a ritual he often performed on his victims. Arelas promised to wrest power away from the Regime, as TMA continued to pursue his own vengeance against Lock, and defeated him at Maximum Carnage to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title. Two new types of matches debuted, as Phoenix and Psiko lost to the Demonic Phenomenon in an Earthquake Match, and Alan Fernandez won the Havok Title by defeating Ruff Rabbi in a Hamsterball Match. Arelas defeated Ooley to become the LWF Commissioner, and CoolJ narrowly escaped with the World Title, when he defeated Crow in a Cage Match.

February Debuts: None

With Lockmania on the horizon, Phoenix confronted CoolJ and promised to win back the championship that CoolJ had taken from him. Arelas began to play the members of the Regime off of each other, causing dissention in the group. After Freak Show Central defeated the Demonic Phenomenon to win the Tag Titles, the Fallen turned on their leader, throwing Xecutioner out of the group as Flame Demon himself took control of the faction, which now included Anarchist and Ruff Rabbi. Arelas scheduled a fourway match with the in-fighting Regime, but the match never got underway, with the group instead showing they were still unified, and Lock publicly fired Arelas, who later ambushed Lock and forced him to sign off on a match with the commissionership on the line again, this time with job protection, but at Lockmania Lock helped Ooley defeat Arelas in a Ladder Match for the Commissionership. New champions were crowned as Flame Demon defeated Alan Fernandez in the Three Levels of Hell cage to win the Havok Title, Firestar defeated Anarchist to win the Lightheavyweight Title, and Psiko defeated Emperor to win the People’s Title. In the main event, Phoenix defeated CoolJ to win back the World Title he lost in December, his third World Title reign.

March Debuts: Tie-Dye Guy

The Puppet Masters announced that Phoenix would have to defend the championship in a Six Pack Challenge against CoolJ and four others. Psiko was attacked by an unseen assailant. Arelas and Phoenix clashed over methodologies, and Crow was entered into the Challenge when he pinned Phoenix in a Handicap Match. Tie-Dye Guy set fire to his couch and renamed himself Johnny Blade. Emperor joined the Fallen, but when he attempted to assert leadership within the group, Flame Demon turned on him and threw him out. Psiko believed that Arelas was behind the attack on him, but after Psiko confronted him and laid him out, Crow was revealed as the true attacked and laid out Psiko and Phoenix with his barbwire bat. Psiko vacated the People’s Title in return for a spot in the Challenge, and Arelas forced Ooley to add him as well. Xecutioner returned as the final entrant. At Maul, Flame Demon defeated Emperor in a Catapult Match to retain the Havok Title, and Big Pimpin won the vacant People’s Title. Lock acted as Special Referee for the Six Pack Challenge, and used a fast count to help Crow pin Phoenix and win the World Title.

April Debuts: Crazy Punk Girl, Ministry

Arelas defeated Freak Show Central in a Handicap Match to win the Tag Titles on his own, but Ooley used his commissionership powers to declare himself the co-champion, and named their team The 0wner and His Ass. Ooley would sit at ringside during title defenses and taunt Arelas throughout the match. Xecutioner targeted Flame Demon and the rest of the Fallen. Ooley vacated the Tag Titles, announcing that both he and Arelas would select a new partner and they would face each other at Resurrection. Ooley selected Lock, and Phoenix offered himself to Arelas. CoolJ, upset at having been pushed aside in the Regime for Crow, turned on his stablemates and left the group, and he defeated Iceman to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title at Resurrection. Xecutioner defeated Flame Demon to win the Havok Title, and then interfered in the Tag Title match, attacking Phoenix and suspending him from the rafters on the Xecutioner symbol, allowing the Puppet Masters to defeat Arelas and win back the titles. Crow defended the World Title against Psiko in a Hell in a Cell Match, but during the match Xecutioner released the symbol from the rafters and it fell through the roof of the cell, throwing the match into chaos and allowing Crow to escape the cell, leading to a finish where he threw Psiko from the roof back into the cell through the hole, and getting the pin.

May Debuts: None

Arelas pursued his former partner, promising to defeat Crow for the World Title. Lock awarded himself the new Technical Championship, a championship that could only be won by submission, but Phoenix quickly defeated him to win it, and put the title up against Xecutioner’s Havok Title at Lord of the Ring. CoolJ had a series of near-miss accidents involving pyrotechnics, revealed to be the work of Flame Demon. At Lord of the Ring, CoolJ defeated Flame Demon to retain the Cross-Hemisphere Title, and Xecutioner defeated Phoenix by submission when Lock called for the bell without Phoenix actually tapping out. In the finals of the Lord of the Ring tournament, Alan Fernandez defeated Ministry with Sergeant Savage as the referee after Savage defeated Iceman earlier in the evening in a rematch of the previous year’s final match. Arelas won the World Title for the first time when he defeated Crow in the main event.

June Debuts: Metalhead Matt Marauder

Xecutioner joined with Savage to become the Hitmen. Alan Fernandez challenged Arelas for the World Title, but the match was interrupted by Emperor, who led an invasion by members of the Empire Wrestling Federation, a rival promotion, and revealed Fear as the EWF Imperial Champion and a traitor to LWF. Robert Ooley accidentally won the EWF Hardcore Title, which was defended under 24/7 rules. Alan Fernandez was crushed by Fear’s betrayal, and promised to make Fear pay for what he had done. Several members of LWF, including Anarchist, Big Pimpin, Nightmare, and Ruff Rabbi, jumped sides and joined EWF. EWF began amassing LWF championships when JJ Massacre and Assassin defeated the People’s Alliance to win the Tag Titles, and Nightmare defeated CoolJ to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title, but that same night the Hitmen defeated the Axis of Pain to win the EWF Tag Titles. Downfall won a battle royal that set up the LWF and EWF World Champions to face each other at Revolution, but prior to the event Iceman defeated Downfall to become the EWF World Champion himself. At Revolution, Phoenix defeated Nightmare to bring the Cross-Hemisphere Title back to LWF, and the People’s Alliance won back the Tag Titles. Fear had a change of heart and refused to fight Alan Fernandez, quitting EWF, and Arelas retained the World Title against Downfall. EWF was sent packing when Lock defeated Emperor, and all EWF members not signed to LWF contracts were forced to leave.

July Debuts: Angry Little Man, Chef, Downfall, JJ Massacre

Downfall signed with LWF and joined the Regime, blaming Emperor’s faulty leadership for the failure of the EWF invasion. The Regime targeted Arelas again, with the goal of taking back the World Title. Firestar, feeling betrayed after Fear left her to reunite with the Talk and having nowhere else to go, turned to Lock and the Regime. The feud between Phoenix and Nightmare continued, but took a turn when both men were assaulted by an unseen assailant, revealed to be Crow. Phoenix would retain the Cross-Hemisphere Title against both of them at Meltdown. The Puppet Masters again became Tag Team Champions in a four team Ladder Match with help from Firestar. Flame Demon defeated CoolJ when the referee stopped the match due to CoolJ having lost an excessive amount of blood, and Arelas retained the World Title in a match against Iceman.

August Debuts: Susumu Itarki

CoolJ claimed that Flame Demon had failed, as CoolJ was still standing. Psiko won the Havok Title for the third time by defeating Xecutioner. At his mother’s grave, Alan Fernandez revealed to Fear that his sister, Firestar, had been adopted, a revelation that crushed Firestar when she found out. Ooley was scheduled as the next title defense for Arelas, but Ooley made the match a Napoleon’s Revenge match, which nobody had ever heard of and Ooley refused to explain the rules. At Vengeance, Crow won the Cross-Hemisphere Title in a Cage Match against Phoenix when Phoenix threw him through the cage and Crow fell to the outside. CoolJ defeated Flame Demon in a No Holds Barred Match, and Flame Demon finally showed his opponent respect after the match. Firestar had a tearful reunion with Freak Show Central after helping them retain the Tag Titles. During the main event, Lock and Ooley continually announced changes in the rules of the Napoleon’s Revenge Match, but it looked as though Arelas would persevere, until Phoenix turned on Arelas and laid him out, and counted the fall to give Ooley the World Title.

September Debuts: Gravedigger

Phoenix announced the coming of the Replica, and began laying waste to members of the federation, including Alan Fernandez, Fear, and Ruff Rabbi, and began specifically targeting Psiko, his former pupil. Xecutioner felt that Flame Demon had gone soft, and joined with Triple M against a new alliance between CoolJ and Flame Demon. Arelas held Lock accountable for his loss of the championship, insisting on a final match between them after the Regime cost him a shot at the number one contendership. Crow joined with Phoenix, and the pair became known as the Birds of Prey. At Day of Reckoning, Phoenix defeated Psiko in brutal fashion to win the Havok Title, and left Psiko a bloody mess in the ring. Arelas defeated Lock in an Enclosed Cage match, with the stipulation that the Regime could no longer target Arelas. In the main event, Robert Ooley successfully defended the World Title against Alan Fernandez.

October Debuts: Quetzalcoatl

Lock promised to keep his word to Arelas, but Phoenix came to the ring and attacked Lock, and demanded that Ooley and Iceman join him as his Following, to which they agreed. Phoenix claimed that he had ascended. Arelas promised to take down the Following just as he did the Regime, as meanwhile Phoenix continued dismantling Lock, who was eventually forced to admit defeat and joined the Following himself. At Outlast, Phoenix finished what he had started the month before, and injured Psiko so severely that he suffered what were thought to be career-ending injuries, but Phoenix himself was eliminated by Ruff Rabbi with the help of Arelas. Alan Fernandez and Susumu Itarki would also advance along with Rabbi to the main event to challenge Robert Ooley, and Alan Fernandez won the World Title.

November Debuts: None

Triple M stepped up to challenge the new World Champion, and defeated him for the Technical Title with the help of Robert Ooley. The Puppet Masters turned on Phoenix and Lock declared that the Regime lived, but Phoenix was one step ahead of them and had already arranged their replacement in the Following with the Metal Militia. Fire and Ice won the Tag Titles, and successfully defended them against the Puppet Masters at Betrayal. Also at Betrayal, CoolJ defeated Xecutioner in a First Blood Match, and Alan Fernandez retained the World Title in a triple threat match against Arelas and Triple M, a match that Phoenix watched.

December Debuts: None

In the closing weeks of the year, Arelas dragged BDT to the ring in chains and put in him the Last Prayer, and waived his agreement with the Regime to do the same to Ooley. CoolJ reunited with the Puppet Masters. Phoenix blamed Xecutioner for his current state of mind, and replaced him in the Following with Flame Demon. Phoenix made it known that Alan Fernandez and the World Title were his next target.

2003

Arelas continued to drag people around in chains each week. Alan Fernandez tried to prove that the seemingly unstoppable Replica persona of Phoenix was nothing more than a man, and put up the World Title against the Tag Team Championship, but at the Massive Melee, Fire and Ice defeated Freak Show Central when Phoenix pinned Fernandez, and it made Phoenix the World Champion, at the same time that he also held the Havok and Tag Team Championships. The Massive Melee saw a dominant performance by Triple M, but in the end it was Arelas that eliminated CoolJ last to secure the victory.

January Debuts:

A main event for Lockmania was now set with Phoenix defending against Arelas, but Alan Fernandez promised to make the road to Lockmania a living hell for both men, and he would soon cost Phoenix the Havok Title in a match against Lock. CoolJ pursued Arelas, promising to prove the superiority of the JMission over the Last Prayer. Triple M had to fend off a new challenge from Joe Fantasy as well as his alter-ego Nightmare, who appeared to repeatedly be in two places at once. At Maximum Carnage, Joe Fantasy defeated Triple M in a Ladder Match to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title with the help of Nightmare, and it was revealed that “Nightmare” was Susumu Itarki in makeup. Also at Maximum Carnage, CoolJ defeated Arelas to win the Technical Title, and an Inferno Pit Match for the World Title between Phoenix and Alan Fernandez had a shocking finish when both men fell into the pit, with the referee ruling that Phoenix fell in first and that Fernandez had therefore won the championship back.

February Debuts: Diablo

Phoenix protested the result of the Inferno Pit, claiming that since Fernandez had also fallen into the pit that the match should have been declared a draw. Lock agreed but refused to overturn the referee’s decision, instead adding Phoenix to the new main event of Lockmania to make it a triple threat. CoolJ attempted to work his own way into the main event on the merit of his victory over Arelas at Maximum Carnage, but Arelas defeated him with the help of Phoenix, preventing his addition, but when Arelas tried to return the favor he accidentally cost Fire and Ice the Tag Team Championship, inciting the wrath of the Following. Robert Ooley returned, claiming that while he was away CoolJ visited him and spilled crappy beer on him, prompting his return. Triple M won back the Cross-Hemisphere Title, and put it on the line against Susumu Itarki in a match in which both men’s careers were on the line as well. At Lockmania II, Triple M defeated Itarki, and the Following won back the Tag Titles when Iceman and Flame Demon defeated Emperor and Lock. In the main event, Arelas defeated Alan Fernandez and Phoenix to become a 2-Time World Champion.

March Debuts: None

Phoenix took out his frustrations by throwing Ruff Rabbi out of the Following, declaring him the weak link. Robert Ooley set up a tournament to fill the Havok Title, which was vacated by Susumu Itarki’s forced retirement. Lock and Ooley began to make contradictory booking decisions, leading to friction between them, and one week cancelled an entire episode of Lockdown to prove his point that he held the power. Emperor was declared the new #1 contender when he defeated Ooley, CoolJ, and Triple M in a Fatal Fourway. Crow defeated Diablo in the finals of the tournament to crown the new Havok Champion. At Maul, Triple M defeated Diablo in a match for both the Cross-Hemisphere and People’s Title, becoming a double champion. Also at Maul, Iceman and Flame Demon defeated the Puppet Masters to retain the Tag Titles when Lock botched a double team maneuver, CoolJ made Phoenix tap out for the first time in his career to retain the Technical Title, but Phoenix nearly cripped CoolJ in a post-match assault. In the main event Arelas successfully defended the World Title against Emperor.

April Debuts: None

Triple M lost both of his championships in a two fall triple threat to Diablo and Xecutioner, but was encouraged by Phoenix to set his sights higher. Arelas demanded competition worthy of his talent, leading to the first ever King of the Hill Match, in which Arelas would defend the World Title against CoolJ, Emperor, Lock, Robert Ooley, and Triple M. Phoenix began to suffer a series of severe headaches, and it would be those same headaches that would cost him a match against Xecutioner at Resurrection. In the King of the Hill Match, Triple M appeared to have the match won with the help of Iceman and Flame Demon, but Phoenix attacked them and took Triple M out of the match, which ended up being won by Emperor.

Arelas blamed Phoenix for his loss and Emperor refused to thank him for his victory, but Phoenix’s motives were his own. It was revealed that Phoenix’s “Replica” persona was an alternate personality as the result of a fractured psyche caused by the punishment inflicted upon him by Xecutioner and others over the years. CoolJ began doing a series of impressions meant to embarrass Arelas. Robert Ooley continued to one-up Lock’s bookings, adding a fourth team to a Ladder Match for the Tag Team Championship, a match which was won by Arelas and Diablo, the Angelic Devils. At Lord of the Ring, Lock and Ooley finally faced off, as Lock successfully defended the Havok Title, and a World Title Match between Emperor and Iceman spilled into the parking lot, where Iceman tried to run Emperor down. In the opening match of the Lord of the Ring tournament, Arelas narrowly defeated Phoenix, but suffered a leg injury while doing so, that led to his defeat in the second round by Triple M. In the finals of the tournament, Triple M defeated Diablo to become the 2003 Lord of the Ring.

June Debuts: None

The tournament victory earned Triple M a title shot against Emperor with the previous year’s winner, Alan Fernandez, as the guest referee, but it ended in a no contest when a hooded figure that appeared to be the Replica attacked everyone. The same individual later attacked CoolJ as well, but when Emperor demanded that Phoenix show himself, it turned out that Phoenix and this new “Replica” were different people, and his identity was revealed to be Fear. Fear’s new brutal attitude led him to the Cross-Hemisphere Championship and put him at odds with his former partner, as Alan Fernandez was shocked by his former friend’s actions. Lock came to the aid of CoolJ in his fight against the Angelic Devils, but CoolJ did not want his help and Arelas claimed Lock’s presence violated the terms of their contract from Day of Reckoning the year before. At Revolution, CoolJ and Lock defeated the Angelic Devils to win the Tag Team Championship, and Fear successfully defeated Alan Fernandez in a No Holds Barred Match to retain the Cross-Hemisphere Title. Throughout the night, members of the rival promotion Ultimate Wrestling Fusion interfered in matches, and John Hard of UWF even won the Havok Title. In the main event, Emperor successfully defend the World Title in a Triple Threat Match against Phoenix and Triple M with the help of Lock, after which it was revealed that Lock had purchased UWF from Emperor, who had started the promotion the previous year after the collapse of EWF.

July Debuts: C.J. Diamond, Dark Angel, Dirtay Hollywood, John Hard, Maggo, Pink Fairy, Red Fusion, Ruff Ryder, Vic Malato, Wicked Nick

Lock introduced the champions of UWF and decreed that at Meltdown all LWF and UWF championships would be unified. Arelas protested his and Diablo’s loss at Revolution, again claiming that Lock had violated the terms of their previous agreement. Arelas announced his retirement as an in-ring competitor along with his intent to file a lawsuit for breach of contract, and while the lawsuit was in progress he served as the color commentator for broadcasts. UWF feuds spilled into LWF as Red Fusion and Dirtay Hollywood feuded with the Degenerate World Order, but Hollywood betrayed Fusion and rejoined the group, as he and John Hard threw Pink Fairy and Wicked Nick out of the faction and took the UWF Tag Titles from them. CoolJ was angry with Lock due to members of UWF attacking him at Revolution, and Lock made him face these new members of the roster each week, and eventually caused them to lose the Tag Titles to Dark Angel and Flame Demon of the Metal Militia. Iceman defeated Big Pimpin to win the UWF World Championship, giving himself another shot at Emperor and the LWF World Title. Phoenix took a stand against Triple M and his Metal Militia, and Triple M promised to be the person to finally break Phoenix. The result of the lawsuit was that Arelas was awarded the position of LWF Commissioner, effective after Meltdown. At Meltdown, the LWF and UWF championships were unified, as by the end of the night Ghostdad was the Havok Champion, Nomad was the Technical Champion, the Degenerate World Order were the Tag Team Champions, Fear was the Cross-Hemisphere Champion, and Iceman was the new World Champion. Also at Meltdown, CoolJ defeated Lock in a No Holds Barred Match, and Phoenix and Triple M faced off in an “I Quit” Match, ended by the referee when Phoenix clearly could not continue but refused to quit.

August Debuts: Dr. K

The night after Meltdown, Arelas officially became commissioner and announced that the fans would choose the competitors to determine a new People’s Champion, necessary after Arelas stripped the reigning champion, Xecutioner. Arelas petitioned Phoenix to declare himself eligible, and tricked Triple M into being the other participant, and Phoenix defeated Triple M in their rematch to win the title. Lock formed a new Regime, now backed by Emperor, Red Fusion, and Dr. K, and the group targeted Iceman and the World Championship. At Vengeance, Arelas returned to the ring as an active competitor in a victory over Triple M. Also at Vengeance, Emperor defeated CoolJ in a Ladder-Scepter Match, and Iceman successfully defended the World Title against Red Fusion.

September Debuts: None

Lock began to use his authority as owner to counter-book against Arelas, particularly in the commissioner’s occasional absence. Lock helped Red Fusion defeat Phoenix for the World Title, and reactivated the defunct UWF Imperial Title and awarded it to Emperor for no reason other than to spite Arelas, prompting Arelas to book himself against both Fusion and Emperor at Day of Reckoning in a match for both titles. Dr. K began repeatedly spearing Ghostdad through walls or whatever else he could find. Fear targeted Phoenix, using mirrors to haunt his tortured mind, leading to the first ever Hall of Mirrors Match at Day of Reckoning, in which Fear successfully defended the Cross-Hemisphere Title against him. Also at Day of Reckoning, Arelas won both the People’s and Imperial Titles when he defeated Fusion and Emperor in a Handicap Match, and the Technicians defeated the Metal Militia to win the Tag Titles. In the main event, Lock captured the World Title for the first time when he defeated Iceman.

October Debuts: None

Arelas re-retired the Imperial Title, but Lock helped Emperor defeat him for the People’s Title, and then declared that the championship that had survived Day of Reckoning was not the People’s Title, but the Imperial Title. Alan Fernandez returned to confront Fear, and Psiko returned after an absence of nearly a year to help take a stand against Lock. At Outlast, Alan Fernandez, Iceman, and Triple M all advanced to the main event to challenge Lock for the World Title, but Lock was eliminated early in the match due to the actions of Arelas, and Triple M pinned Alan Fernandez to win the tournament and his first World Championship.

November Debuts: Synn

A non-aggression pact between Arelas and Lock was now over, and CoolJ became caught in the middle. Alan Fernandez and Fear held a Best of Seven Series of various gimmick matches, with the Cross-Hemisphere Title on the line. CoolJ became the official spokesperson for Gold Bond Medicated Powder. Covert Jay debuted as the new commentator for Warzone. At Betrayal, Fear defeated Alan Fernandez in an Iron Man Match to win their seven match series, and CoolJ became the new #1 contender to the World Title when he defeated Arelas and Lock in a Vigilante Match. Also at Betrayal, Triple M defeated Iceman to retain the World Title.

December Debuts: Code Red, Covert Jay, Lone Wolf

As the year came to a close, Triple M continued his reign of terror as World Champion, but the year ended with a feel good moment as Alan Fernandez and Psiko had a one-night three match series for the Havok Title, won by Fernandez, and Firestar returned to reunite with the group.

2007

LWF returned in early December with a series of matches to determine a new World Champion, with Alan Fernandez, Arelas, Psiko, and Triple M all earning a shot. Psiko renewed his allegiance to Lock. Fear took newcomer Donovan Hastings under his wing, the duo being known as the Lords of Pain. At Renewal, The Lords of Pain won a three team Table Match to become the Tag Team Champions, and Diablo defeated McCammon in a Ladder Match to become the Cross-Hemisphere Champion. Ruff Rabbi returned as the guest referee of the main event, a Fatal Fourway for the World Title, won by Arelas when he pinned Triple M.

December Debuts: Baal, Colby Colt, Donovan Hastings, Jake White, Reckless Jack, Travis Pierce

In the closing weeks of the year, Lock announced the Streak of Success, a new process to determine challengers to each championship at the Massive Melee. Triple M began playing a series of videos from former LWF members such as Xecutioner, Flame Demon, and Susumu Itarki, all praising Triple M. CoolJ covered the old Technical Title with medicated itch powder and declared himself the Gold Bond Champion. In the final main event of the year, the team of Arelas and Ruff Rabbi, known as the Holy Dragons, defeated Lock and Iceman in a match that featured Fear as the referee, after Fear convinced Lock to take his place in the match.

2008

Lock attempted to form a new Regime using Psiko, Fear, and Donovan Hastings, but Psiko didn’t want Lock’s help and Fear told him that the Regime was dead. Triple M continued to show videos each week of people praising him and his talents. New alliances formed, as Diablo and Baal became the Unholy Hierarchy and Colby Colt and Travis Pierce became the Stampeding Truth. At the Massive Melee, the tension between Psiko and Lock boiled over, when Psiko’s refusal to allow Lock to help him cost him a World Title match against Arelas. Also at Massive Melee, Jake White pulled off a major upset when he pinned Diablo to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title, but it was Diablo that got the last laugh of the evening, when he eliminated Ruff Rabbi last to win the Massive Melee, and with it earn a shot at the World Title at a time and place of his choosing.

January Debuts: Can of Gold Bond, Petalhead Pat Prouder

Arelas proposed a new concept known as Vigilante Month, in which the entire roster would compete for a shot at the World Title, and any still eligible member of the roster could eliminate anybody at any time. Lock revealed a new alliance with Triple M and Lone Wolf, positioning them as his latest pawns as he tried to control the World Title. Triple M’s video series came to an end when the conclusion of a video of Phoenix saw Phoenix himself appear in the arena, causing Triple M to flee, and Lock took steps to prevent Phoenix from making a full return. Vigilante Month came down to Triple M and Lock after they worked together to eliminate everyone else, and Lock allowed Triple M to pin him and go on to face Arelas. At Maximum Carnage, Jake White saved his Cross-Hemisphere Title by getting himself counted out against Travis Pierce, but new champions were crowned as the Unholy Hierarchy defeated the Lords of Pain, and Colby Colt won the first ever Carnage Match to win the reactivated Havok Title. Throughout the night, Arelas faced Triple M in a Vigilante Match, and Triple M won the match and the World Title following interference by Lock.

February Debuts: Darius Jermaine, Prototype, Seth Burch

Lock helped Lone Wolf to win the Havok Title from Colby Colt and Triple M to successfully defend the World Title against Psiko, after which Triple M and Lone Wolf quickly turned on Lock, bragging about how they had been using him all along, and the next week were joined by Jake White, Diablo, and Baal as a new Metal Militia had been formed. With White as the Cross-Hemisphere Champion and the Unholy Hierarchy as the Tag Team Champions, the group claimed that as they now controlled all active titles, they now asserted full control. Lock responded by retroactively acknowledging CoolJ as the Gold Bond Champion. Lock also announced Opportunity Knocks night, an evening in which all of the Militia members defended their championships, and ended with Lock helping CoolJ to defeated the Hierarchy for the Tag Titles with the Can of Gold Bond as his partner. Triple M came under fire after he got into a fight with fans at a Ruff Rabbi autograph signing and Rabbi’s Yeshiva was mysteriously destroyed. At Lockmania IV, Jake White was unable to escape Travis Pierce as he was forced to face him in a Stairway to Hell Match, but White was able to defeat Pierce and keep the title. Colby Colt won back the Havok Title by defeating Lone Wolf in a Hard Ten Match, and Lunacy in Motion reunited to win the Tag Titles in a TLC Match. In the No Holds Barred main event, Triple M defeated Ruff Rabbi to retain the World Title, becoming the first person to successfully defend the title at the event.

March Debuts: Alister Syn, Deep

Fresh off a victory over Fear and Hastings at Lockmania, Arelas set his sights on the Metal Militia. Red Fusion became frustrated with the antics of CoolJ, and challenged him to a match, which CoolJ accepted with a low blow. The Lords of Pain targeted the Stampeding Truth, with Hastings focusing on Colt and the Havok Title and Fear tormenting Pierce. At Maul, Colby Colt defeated Hastings, Prototype, and Baal to retain the Havok Title, and Lone Wolf became the new #1 Contender to the World Title by winning a six pack challenge. Triple M faced Arelas in a Hell in a Cell six years after Arelas denied him the opportunity for such a match, but was defeated when Phoenix returned and intervened, allowing Arelas to win back the World Title.

April Debuts: Nero

Triple M protested his loss due to the interference by Phoenix, but Lock responded by announcing that Phoenix would be signing a new contract and rejoining LWF. Fear attacked Travis Pierce on the set of his show, and Hastings continued his attacks on Colby Colt. Phoenix announced that he was returning for one final match with Triple M at Resurrection. The Unholy Hierarchy defeated Lunacy in Motion with the help of Jake White, winning the Tag Titles for the second time, but Psiko got revenge the following week by defeating White for the Cross-Hemisphere Title. At Resurrection, Donovan Hastings defeated Colby Colt in a Stairway to Hell Match for the Havok Title, but his partner Fear lost a Chain Match to Travis Pierce. The Last Man Standing Match between Phoenix and Triple M ended in a draw when neither man could answer a ten count, and the main event saw Arelas successfully defend the World Title against Lone Wolf.

Phoenix challenged Triple M to another match at Lord of the Ring, but Triple M accepted on the condition that Phoenix make a full-time on-going return to LWF. In spite of his fears that the grind of a full return would bring on the return of his dark alternate personality, Phoenix agreed. Diablo used his title shot earned from winning the Massive Melee and challenged Arelas to a Gates of Hell Match at Lord of the Ring. Red Fusion defeated Psiko to win the Cross-Hemisphere Title, but suffered an injury in the match and was forced to vacate the title the following week. Triple M claimed that he had already won the war against Phoenix regardless of the outcome of their match, which at Lord of the Ring saw Phoenix defeat Triple M in an Inferno Pit Match, the end of which saw Triple M aggressively urge Phoenix to knock him into the pit. Psiko won back the vacant Cross-Hemisphere Title in a Ladder Match, defeating Fear and Darius Jermaine, and Diablo won the World Title for the first time in his career when he defeated Arelas in the Gates of Hell. The Lord of the Ring tournament saw Nero defeat Jake White and Lone Wolf on his way to the finals, where he defeated Colby Colt to become the 2008 Lord of the Ring.

June Debuts: Nicky Starr

Arelas announced his intent to once again become the LWF Commissioner, but was stunned when Lock came to the ring and immediately appointed him to the position. Members of the roster were repeatedly found in positions symbolic of the seven deadly sins, with the message Se7en appearing on the titantron, and the victims included Pat Prouder, CoolJ, and Jake White. Darius Jermaine won the Cross-Hemisphere Title from Psiko, but the following week Psiko won the Havok Title from Hastings. An interview on the set of The Piercing Truth ended in shocking fashion when an angry Triple M destroyed the set, an action that sent Travis Pierce into a downward spiral. At Revolution, Pierce failed in his attempt at vengeance, losing a No Holds Barred Match to Triple M. Elsewhere at Revolution, Psiko retained the Havok Title in a Coliseum Match, Lone Wolf defeated Phoenix, and Jake White pinned CoolJ to win the Gold Bond Championship. In the main event, Diablo defeated Nero to retain the World Title.

July Debuts: Kyle Tacker, White Manson

The Metal Militia began to celebrate Diablo’s successful title defense, but it ended in shocking fashion when Lone Wolf assaulted Diablo, and Triple M took Lone Wolf’s side when Baal tried to come to his brother’s aid. The Se7en assaults continued, with the victims including Donovan Hastings, Triple M, and Nero. Jake White rebranded himself as Chance Chesney and renamed his new championship the Shell/Pennzoil Championship, and joined with Darius Jermaine and Kyle Tacker to form the Dirty South Franchise. Arelas accused Phoenix of again becoming the Replica and being responsible for the Se7en attacks, but the true culprit was revealed to be Fear, inciting a furious response from his partner, Hastings, himself one of the victims. At Meltdown, Psiko defeated Kyle Tacker in a Parking Lot Brawl, and Creative Control won the Tag Titles in the first ever Prison Break Match after the other three teams couldn’t get along, with Hastings still furious with Fear about being one of his victims, Travis Pierce now blaming Colby Colt for losing the set of his show, and Baal and Pat Prouder never getting along to begin with. Triple M defeated Phoenix in a Hangman’s Horror Match, which became the final blow required to snap Phoenix’s resistance to his dark side, as the Replica returned in the main event to ensure that Lone Wolf won the World Title from Diablo, as a thank you to Triple M for unleashing him.

August Debuts: None

Arelas announced that the fans would vote on aspects of the card for Vengeance. Phoenix, alongside Triple M, formed a new faction including Lone Wolf, Donovan Hastings, and the returning Dr. K, known as the Legacy. A mysterious figure known only as the Question appeared, stalking members of the roster. Psiko led a campaign to reinvigorate the Havok division. Arelas introduced a group of new referees and officials, as well as introducing innovations such as instant replay. At Vengeance, Phoenix and Triple M won the Tag Titles from Creative Control in a Street Fight, Kyle Tacker defeated Psiko in Three Levels of Hell to win the Havok Title, and Darius Jermaine defeated Fear to retain the Cross-Hemisphere Title. The fans voted Colby Colt to be the challenger in the main event, and Colt proved to be up to the task, defeating Lone Wolf to become the World Champion.

September Debuts: The Question

Arelas announced that the World and Cross-Hemisphere Champions would face each other at Day of Reckoning, winner take all. Phoenix challenged Arelas to a War Games Match for the Pay-Per-View, and later that night destroyed the instant replay monitors. Arelas and Lock were joined in their conflict against Legacy by Psiko, Diablo, and Nero, forming the Creative Coalition team for the War Games Match. Nero dropped his nickname and became known as John Russo. The Dirty South Franchise convinced the unhinged Travis Pierce to join the group. Red Fusion returned to challenge Jermaine for the Cross-Hemisphere Title, but was defeated in his comeback match. At Day of Reckoning, the Creative Coalition defeated Legacy in a War Games Match after Lone Wolf turned on his teammates and attacked Triple M. The Dirty South Franchise looked to be having a down night, as Chesney lost to Red Fusion, Fear won the Havok Title from Kyle Tacker, and Pierce was defeated by the Question, but in the main event Darius Jermaine defeated Colby Colt and now held both the World and Cross-Hemisphere Titles.

October Debuts: None

Arelas forced Jermaine to defend at least one of his championships every week leading up to Outlast, leading to John Russo defeating Jermaine for the Cross-Hemisphere Title. Separate assaults and feuds led to Psiko, Fear, and the Question all coming together to fight the Franchise, and the Question revealed his true identity as Alan Fernandez, with the new unified group being known as the Lunatic Fringe. Arelas forced Lone Wolf and Red Fusion to team together, and despite their friction they were able to win the Tag Team Championship from Legacy. At Outlast, Diablo, Lone Wolf, Alan Fernandez, Psiko, and the Can of Gold Bond all advanced to the main event, but Darius Jermaine was able to retain the World Title with the help of referee Sam Green, whom Jermaine had paid off.

November Debuts: None

As punishment for bribing a referee, Arelas scheduled Jermaine to defend the World Title in an Elimination Match. Lone Wolf faced Triple M in a Falls Count Anywhere Match that ended in brutal fashion when Lone Wolf threw Triple M off the top of the titantron, and left Triple M with injuries that would put him out of action for over a year. At Betrayal, Kyle Tacker won the Havok Title and the Confederate Truth won the Tag Titles, but John Russo was able to retain the Cross-Hemisphere Title against Donovan Hastings. In the main event in the Elimination Chamber, Jermaine was shockingly the first person eliminated, and the final person to be eliminated was Psiko, as Diablo became the World Champion for the second time.

December Debuts: TJ Hero, X-Klaus

As the year came to a close, Arelas announced that the Massive Melee winner would once again choose where and when they received their title shot, and in the final match of the year, and old rivalry was renewed as Phoenix pinned CoolJ.
