The GEW Chaos Undisputed Championship, originally known as just the GEW Undisputed Championship, is a currently-inactive title in Global Extreme Wrestling.
History[]
The GEW Undisputed Championship was a major title in the GEW's history, and in the autumn of 2006 then-General Manager Tracey Smothers decided to reinstate it to contend with the GEW World Heavyweight Championship as the company's top title. A seven man over-the-top-rope battle royale was held on an episode of Friday Night Chaos to crown an inaugural champion. The debuting Tony Wright would win, last eliminating Shawn Michaels, albeit in controversial fashion as he slipped out under the bottom rope early on and re-entered only when Michaels was celebrating his apparent victory after eliminating Randy Orton. Wright, Michaels and Orton faced off once more at Winter Bash 2006 in a cage match, which Wright again won, and again by dubious means. Orton eventually defeated Shawn Michaels and Triple H for the title following Wright throwing it down and symbolically burying it, as a sign of his intention to defeat Jeff Hardy, The Rock and nemesis Klown for the GEW World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Extravaganza 2007. Orton enjoyed the title's longest reign before being dethroned by Kameron Chase. At Pushed To The Limit 2007 Chase defeated World Heavyweight Champion Xavier Michaels to unify the two titles, making him the final Undisputed Champion, although immediately after the match Orton cashed in his rematch clause for the Unisputed Championship and pinned an already-tired Chase to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Due to the GEW records fire in May 2006, much of the information on the original incarnation of the Undisputed Championship is unknown. Jeff Hardy is known to have been the only two-time Undisputed Champion during the title's original incarnation. Triple H is also a former champion. Pending new records being discovered, Hardy and Triple H are the only recognised Chaos Undisputed Champions from its original incarnation. Five different individuals are currently recognised as former Chaos Undisputed Champions by GEW.
