The championship began as a hardcore title, which was defended against anyone at anytime. Anyone was eligible to challenge for the belt, so long as a referee was present. The 24/7 rule was soon lifted, and it became a tertiary title underneath the FBW Trans-Tasman Championship, but it's prestige soon lifted and it became another mid-tier championship.

The longest reign for this championship is held by Ryan Ryles, who was champion for 117 days straight. The shortest is held by TK Jones, who lost the title the day after he won it. Zack Richards, the final champion was also closest to breaking the longest reign, losing out by 11 days.
