EAW Presents: The Trial is an American reality game show that airs on truTV and the EAW Network. The show features past and present members of Elite Answers Wrestling's roster (referred to as Elitists and Vixens) competing for a cash prize that will ultimately be donated to the charity of the winners' choice.
Production and Gameplay[]
Production for the first season of The Trial got underway in June 2016, with the cast of twenty-six roster members being announced that same month. The show was filmed on location in Saint James, Barbados. Also a part of the cast in a non-competitive capacity is former Elitist, commentator, and Hall of Famer Starr Stan, who will serve as host.
The participants were placed in randomized teams of two (one man and one woman each) with the goal of winning a $150,000 cash prize, and the winning team being allowed to select what charitable organization would receive the money. The contestants were to compete in physical and mental challenges, with the front-runners at the end of each challenge being deemed the "power couple". The power couple has the power to vote the last-place finishers of the challenge into an Arena match against any pair they see fit. If a team fails in an Arena match, then they are eliminated.
