NEO: Frontline was a professional wrestling show in the NEO exclusive free-per-view series that took place on October 27th, 2017 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The event was produced by EAW for its NEO brand and aired live on the EAW Network.
Background[]
NEO: Frontline featured professional wrestling matches with varying storylines from the company Elite Answers Wrestling with the Elitists of its developmental brand, NEO.
On the September 27th episode of NEO, General Manager Lioncross announced that NEO would be having its second free-per-view event, NEO: Frontline. On the October 4th episode, Lioncross announced the details of the event and that the winner of that night's Shackleford versus Bad Guy Brandon match would face The Revenant for a main roster contract in the main event of the FPV. Shackleford pinned Brandon after a Shack Daddy Driver to win the match and earn his main event spot. After weeks of having failed tag team attempts against Ryan Wilson and Azrael, Alex Reynolds confronted them to take matters into his own hands only to be stopped by Lioncross. After the agreement of each man involved, it was decided that Azrael would face Reynolds in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at Frontline while Ryan Wilson would be facing a newly-signed, "hot free agent" called "MJ". During the main event of the episode, The Revenant faced off against Sinister Ace. However, the match would end in a draw after interruptions from both Shackleford and Ryo Nakahara. On the October 18th episode, NEO Commissioner Ashten Cross announced that any competitor that did not already have a match at Frontline would be put into an elimination match. A triple threat including Nakahara, Daryl Kinkade, and Sinister Ace was also announced by Cross. The man first introduced to us as "MJ" introduced himself as Malcolm Jones and made his NEO debut, calling out Ryan Wilson. Wilson attempted to attack Jones only to be met with a spinebuster in the middle of the ring. A falls count anywhere match would take place on the same episode between Wilson and Alex Reynolds, who was now accompanied by Vexx Monroe. With the help of Azrael, Wilson would pick up the win. In the closing segment, The Revenant and Shackleford came face-to-face to discuss their match. The confrontation escalated, ending with Revenant hitting a flying spinebuster on Shackleford.
Due to the unfortunate passing of Brody Sparks on October 26th, the show was postponed until November 3rd as the company morale took a serious blow.
