Storylines[]
Cameron Ella Ava vs. Mr. DEDEDE vs. Xander Payne[]
Cameron Ella Ava set her sights on the road to Pain for Pride following a successful triple threat defense against The Illionaires (Chris Elite & Ahren Fournier). After the controversial loss at Under Siege to the hands of Xander Payne, Mr. DEDEDE defeated TNT on the March 30 edition of Showdown to be named "number one contender" to the Answers World Title. That same night, Xander Payne would be seen in an interview with Kyra Phillips objecting to the announcement regarding Mr. DEDEDE, and inserted his name into the slot. The next week, Xander Payne defeated Jordan Payne to earn his spot in the Answers World Title match at Grand Rampage. Throughout the same evening DEDEDE and Kassidy Heart would be seen 'babysitting' Xander's children, personalizing their already heated rivalry. The three Grand Rampage opponents engaged in a highly volatile interview on the April 4 Showdown. The discourse escalated into a physical skirmish, in which DEDEDE ultimately came out on top. On the April 11 go-home show, DEDEDE, Payne, and Ava teamed up in a losing effort to Shaker Jones, TNT, and Jordan Payne after Xander's young son, Ameer, avenged his family by costing DEDEDE the match.
Andrea Valentine vs. Malcolm Jones[]
Charlie Marr began the March 15 edition of Voltage furious over the results of Shock Value, where he failed to capture the EAW Championship against Andrea Valentine. Marr cited the match a "miscarriage of justice" due to the special guest referee, bitter rival Malcolm Jones, and his antics. Andrea Valentine would defend herself, insisting she is no one's easy win, and Malcolm Jones introduced himself into the exchange turning it into a brawl. Marr came out of this exchange the victor, but would suffer payback from Jones later in the evening who would cost him a match against Sierra Bradford. Marr would protest heavily to Voltage GM Captain Charisma the following week, to which in turn would land him a placement in the Grand Rampage match. Valentine scored a close victory against Rex McAllister in that evening's main event, and exchanged words with Malcolm Jones who assured he would leave Grand Rampage EAW Champion. The March 29 Voltage would show Jones costing Valentine a main event tag team match against SASS by distracting her with a 'bundle of roses.' Valentine read Jones the proverbial riot act for his actions the week after, but Jones would leave her lying after a cheap shot followed by a Canadian Destroyer. Valentine got revenge in the main event that evening, costing Jones a loss in a handicap match against SASS. On the go-home show Jones delivered a scathing pre-taped promo deriding Valentine and assuring an ass beating for his opponent, and victory for himself. Valentine would respond following a win against Woogieman, telling Jones to bring his best, and that he'll have to find some other way to make it to Pain for Pride.
Minerva vs. Raven Roberts[]
At Under Siege, Raven Roberts retained her Universal Women's Championship against Alexis Chambers and Harper Lee. Following the match, Minerva cashed in her Iconic Cup trophy to dethrone Raven Roberts of the title in a move that blindsided the champion as well as the EAW Universe. 24 hours later on the March 15 Voltage, Roberts wasted no time in addressing the issue by demanding a rematch at the upcoming Grand Rampage event. Minerva took some time to gloat on the March 20 edition of Showdown, but ultimately accepted the challenge, making the match official. The contract signing for this match took place on the April 5 episode of Voltage, where Roberts promised she would "go through hell and back" to regain her championship. Minerva shared her sentiments, reflecting on the fourteen-month journey to the top, and vowing that she will show that her victory was not a fluke. Minerva attempted to catch Roberts off-guard with an attack, but Roberts narrowly escaped it and floored the champion with a Talon.
