Background[]
The event was originally slated to take place in Shanghai, China as a part of EAW's annual Asia tour. It was later relocated due to the COVID-19 crisis impacting the world by Gawd Contract holder Chris Elite. In response to EAW's lack of action regarding the pandemic, he took matters into his own hands in a Fight Grid announcement where he canceled EAW's Asia tour. Gateway to Glory, Odyssey, & Fighting Spirit were all moved to some of the least at-risk states where they would be held inside of empty arenas. Following these cancellations and relocations, Chris Elite would sponsor each event through his Bozo Victims Unit LLC and provide last minute defiled edits to each poster.

Matches[]
Kassidy Heart & Serena Bennett vs. Impact & Sienna Jade[]
At Grand Rampage, Chris Elite came up short in his match against Kassidy Heart for the National Elite Championship. On the April 24 Dynasty, Elite would open the show to vent his frustrations, but was interrupted by a taunting Impact and Sienna Jade. Serena Bennett and Kassidy Heart also entered the discussion, with Bennett further stroking the fires of an already existing feud against Impact and Sienna. The exchange would provoke Elite into using his Gawd Contract to arrange a match for Gateway To Glory. As per Elite's orders, Kassidy Heart and Serena Bennett were to team up against Impact and Sienna Jade, much to the chagrin of the named participants. Later in the evening. Impact and Sienna were beaten by Justin Windgate and Lethal Consequences after Serena Bennett made her presence felt. The following week, Kassidy Heart resisted pressure from Sienna Jade to get her husband, Mr. DEDEDE, to cancel the arranged Gateway To Glory match. In the main event that same evening, Heart and Bennett were victorious in a strange bedfellows tag match against Drake King and SOSA Henderson. The two were featured in a team building segment on the go-home Dynasty where they both stated their intentions of wanting victory despite the circumstances.
Drake King vs. SOSA Henderson[]
SOSA Henderson made headlines for an impressive showing in the 2020 Grand Rampage match, and would be rewarded for it by StarrStan on the following Dynasty by being granted a World Heavyweight Championship match at Gateway To Glory. On the May 1 edition of Dynasty, Henderson and King would come to blows following a losing tag team effort in the main event. King initiated the assault, but ultimately would be floored by a vicious spear and a Paid In Full. Henderson stood over the World Champion with the World Heavyweight Title in his hands, delivering a potential foreshadow to Gateway To Glory's ending. On May 8, King, amidst already ensuing personal turmoil, would bump into Henderson while looking for his missing sister Jessica. SOSA insisted on having no idea where King's sister is, but a doubtful King responded by promising to rid EAW of "criminals like him." In the go-home main event, King would meet Impact in a non-title bout, and Henderson made his presence felt by distracting Drake King and allowing Impact to pick up the victory as well as completely derail his momentum heading into Gateway To Glory.
Sarah Price vs. Darcy May Morgan[]
Sarah Price found herself in an unforeseen predicament after losing her partner, Sierra Bradford, to an ankle injury at Grand Rampage during their Unified Tag Team Championship bout against Drizzy & Vizzy. On the April 26 edition of Voltage, Price was booked in the main event against Alexis Chambers for the #1 Contendership to the EAW Specialists Championship. In an interview, Price promised not to let her fallen partner down, and to make good on her opportunity. Price was victorious after winning by DQ via interference from Dr. Bethany Blue. The May 1 Dynasty involved Price in attendance to watch the Specialist Champion, Darcy May Morgan, make short work against Melissa O'Malley. Morgan would take to the microphone, calling Price her "easiest defense" of the title, and claiming Price has had her opportunities hand-delivered. In a segment on the May 8 Dynasty, Price brought up Morgan's own losses to major Dynasty talent over the course of the season. In addition, she made an appearance in Morgan's match against Sienna Jade, allowing Jade to pick up a victory over the champion.
