Bethany Janelle Cockburn (Born June 15, 1993) better known as Dr. Bethany Blue is an American Professional Wrestler and a licensed Doctor of Medicine signed to Elite Answers Wrestling who performs and competes under the Dynasty Brand. She is a former EAW Interwire and Specialists Champion.
Early Life
Bethany Janelle Cockburn is of Jewish descent who is the only daughter of famous Doctor’s B.J. and Quincey Cockburn, she also has a half-brother, Jonah who she doesn’t have a close relationship with and rarely talks to him. Bethany and her father are very tight, he is extremely supportive of her venture into professional wrestling after she graduated from the University of Miami in their highly regarded School of Medicine. As a young child Bethany was always the shy, quirky, nerdy girl. She was an introvert and didn’t really have many friends, she would bury herself in studies which led to Bethany graduating High School with enough school credits for college at the age of sixteen. After enrolling in the medical program following in the footsteps of her mother who is in line to be the next Surgeon General and father who is one of the best Anesthesiologists in the country, Bethany felt the need to continue the family legacy.
Bethany has always wanted the acceptance and attention of her mother. She never had to worry about money and had everything she ever desired, but as she was in college, in late 2017 in her last year, ready to graduate and already starting her residency at Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, fell in love with the wrestling business at a younger age but attended her first live event while still in college and from that day forward she wanted to be a part of the business, it fascinated the young Doctor to be. After enrolling and training at BlackOut Academy with legendary former World Champion, Amy Chastaine and one of the best technical wrestlers on the planet, “Mr. Everything” Simon Lyman, Bethany had become a top student of the game and the Academy, where for 15 months she perfected the craft that had her ready to make her debut in Professional Wrestling.
Her mother was completely against this venture, as Bethany was given a Private Practice by her parents in hopes that she would stick to being a Doctor and not even bother with Professional Wrestling but that was not the case. The quirky, shy, and introverted Bethany broke out of her shell, becoming a drop dead gorgeous and polarizing figure with so much charisma that it was hard not to notice her. She adopted the last name of Blue, as in CODE BLUE, the one used at hospitals for a cardiac arrest, and signed with her first and only promotion the EAW in the summer of 2019 becoming Dr. Bethany Blue.
