Dominic Roberto Peña Reeves (Born October 26th, 1971) is a retired Dominican Professional Wrestler who is better known for his ring names Dominic Ramirez, Luiz Hermaro, and his later known alter ego Papa Yaga.
Ramirez was born into a obscure wrestling family back in his native country of the Dominican Republic. His father and brother were both former professional wrestlers before retiring and transitioning to backstage relations and raising a family respectively.
Ramirez would begin training at 13 years old in 1984 by competing in his family's promotion. He would later move to Atlanta, Georgia to begin training at the WCW Powerplant after completing two years of college in 1990. He would make his WCW debut in January of 1991, defeating fellow WCW Powerplant graduate, friend, and future tag team partner, "Great Tank" Richard Hong.
Ramirez would compete for several promotions over his near 4 decade career including his family's promotion in the Dominican Republic, World Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment), All Japan Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action, and finally his own promotion, New Orleans Pro Wrestling (now Atlanta Pro Wrestling).
Early Life[]
Reeves was born on November 14th, 1971 in New Orleans, Louisiana to immigrant parents Luiz and Claudia Reeves. Both whom originate from Barahona, Dominican Republic. He has a older brother and sister Derick Reeves (Born July 1964) and Doralis Aracena (Born 1968) who remained in the country with their paternal grandmother Yesenia Reeves. Due to being in uncharted territory meant it was hard for Reeves to connect to his homeland growing up, leaving him for wanting to have a better connection as he got older. Reeves would attend multiple schools in New Orleans that had began to teach Spanish speaking students. Dominic would eventually learn to fluently speak English some time around 1978. Wanting to connect with his heritage more and to escape the prejudice from some of his peers and teachers, Reeves with the permission of his parents, moved to Barahona, Dominican Republic with his maternal grandmother Eva Manuela, in order to finish High School in 1984. There, he began to truly experience and embrace his heritage and culture. During this time, he and his brother would begin to professional wrestling training after both fell in love with the sport during their time together. Their father would move back to open up a wrestling school there for his sons, their friends, and anyone who would want to join and begin training. Reeves would finished High School and would move back to the states with his sister and grandmother and would move to Atlanta, Georgia and attended two years of DeVry University.
Professional Wrestling Career[]
Training and Early Career (1984-1991)[]
Reeves would make his debut at 13 years old in 1984 by competing and training in his family's very own promotion, RPWS (Reeves Pro Wrestling School). Not much is known of his time in the promotion as no footage of his time there has ever been shown. He does state that he did hold the promotion's world title, the RPWS World Championship and it's tag titles, the RPWS Tag Team Championships with his brother, Derick Reeves. Reeves would spend 8 years in the promotion while tackling middle schools and high school until spending a year in college before returning to America to sign to World Championship Wrestling.
World Championship Wrestling (1991-1998)[]
Early Career (1990-1992)[]
Reeves would move to Atlanta, Georgia in order to begin training at the WCW Powerplant after completing two semesters of college in late 1990. He would make his WCW debut in January of 1991, defeating fellow WCW Powerplant graduate, friend, and future tag team partner, "Great Tank" Richard Hong on a taping of WCW Pro Wrestling. He would start a small rivalry with another friend, Yamashita Maeda which would last until May of that year. Their rubber match was supposed to take place on WCW Clash of Champions XVII, however, their match was cut and the match later took place on the November 23rd edition of WCW Saturday Night. The two would move on from this rivalry and pursue other challenges and rivals. For most of 1992, Dominic would be on the shelf due to sustaining a forearm injury during a match with the Super Invader (AKA Hercules Hernandez) on WCW Saturday Night on May 16th. He would return in November as a last minute replacement and put into the tournament to win the WCW World Television Championship. He would come short as he would end up being eliminated during the first round by Erik Watts.

Involvement in formation and the original concept (1995)[]
Prior to his singles and tag team push in June of 1995, Dominic became friends with Somaje Maverick, a then recently released wrestler from the WWF. The two bonded over their shared spots on the card and their shared experiences with not being able to go up the card, despite being able to go up with the top stars. While bonding, they decided they would scramble up a few friends and colleagues to help build and open up a gym for those who want to avoid working out in public areas with strangers. The original name would be the PowerGym but would later be renamed as the Power Chamber. In October, Somaje and his now wife, Michelle Bosling (renamed Michelle Maverick) pitched a idea that would end up becoming a reality in the background of their careers and with some backing from Michelle herself, the three would end up turning the Power Chamber into something more than just a wrestling gym, but instead a promotion itself. In 1996, New Orleans Pro Wrestling would begin operation in secret with the first 10 shows being taped. The finals of the first NOLA Grand Prix would take place during the final episode and the episode would feature appearances from some independent wrestlers like Lucas Wellsley, Bishop Thompson, Bobby Lewis, Hardcore Bobby, and Pedro Thomas.
