Destination X was a wrestling pay-per-view event for the Christian Championship Wrestling on June 14, 2008. At this event, the World Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, TNA World Heavyweight Championship, X-Division Championship, TNA World X-Division Heavyweight Championship, TNA World Tag Team Championship, World Tag Team Championship, and the Tag Team Championship were unified into each other.

Background

The event was created by the officials of Christian Championship Wrestling to consolidate the titles in their company. Jerry Seltzer, the CEO of Christian Championship Wrestling, stated in a press release to the media that: "Our company is overrun by championship titles that were meant to be short lived event, but, now we have enough resources and talent to sustain the reduced championship titles." When the Christian Championship Wrestling] won the Survivor Series tag team match and receiving all new wrestlers to make the CCW the largest wrestling promotion in the U.S. With this new talent, CCW was prompted to use the new wrestlers in matches to declare them to which brand to go to. The Salvation, Retribution, and TNA: iMPACT champions went to war with each other to make their brand superior to the other 2 brands.

Event

On the Destination X card, The 3 World Heavyweight Championship, World Tag Team Championship, and the X-Division Championship titles. Also on the card, the new wrestlers get a chance to be drafted to the three brands in Christian Championship Wrestling and the major announcement by Jerry Seltzer about the next phase of the company.

Aftermath

Immediately after the announcement by the CEO, the company went the steps to change its' name from Christian Championship Wrestling to United Wrestling Federation. The change will take in effect on January 1, 2009, but, the officials confirmed that the pay-per-view's names will stay the same with new events coming down the line 1 to 2 years after 2009. The officials did say that the championship titles will now be defended on all 3 brands. TNA received the lowest amount of wrestlers from the wrestling match draft while the Retribution got 40 percent of the draftees while the Salvation got the 50 percent of the wrestlers. The drafted wrestlers who were drafted will be starting their duties the following day.
