The Women's World Championship was the secondmost prestigious title in Championship Wrestling Federation after the CWF World Heavyweight Championship. It was introduced in January 2008, and was contested for within the company until CWF's closure in the late autumn of that year.

Championship History[]

The head of CWF, Edward Jefferson, made a tournament to find the first CWF Women's Champion. The first round was to determine who would face each other in round two. The four women in this tournament were Kim Riggs, Dominique Matthews, Nightshade and the returning BaY-B Dogg. In round one Nightshade was eliminated first, with Dominique Matthews soon being eliminating second. Riggs and Dogg would battle until Riggs won the match and become the number one seed. The week after, Kim Riggs would beat Nightshade to go to the finals at Red Dawn, but the match between Matthews and Bay-B Dogg would end in controversy as both women were counted out thanks to interference from Matthews' husband Shawn Fury. Jefferson declared that the final match at Red Dawn would be a triple-threat match. At Red Dawn, BBD would hit Matthews with a Dogg Pound to become the first CWF Women's World Champion. Dogg and Riggs went on to feud over the Championship, with Riggs defeating Dogg in an ambulance match on Ignition with the aid of Johnny Gunn after Dogg issued an open challenge to the women of CWF to challenge for the title in the match type of their choice. Shortly before Blind Justice it was announced that Riggs would defend the Championship in a gauntlet match, and that she would be the final entrant. Dogg, one of the first two entrants, successively defeated Ginger Ale, Nightshade, Cammy Carnage and then Riggs to reclaim the Championship. Riggs retired following this, and Dogg went on to participate in a three-way feud with both Carnage and Matthews, which ultimately saw Dogg retain the championship. She was still champion by the time CWF closed its doors.
