Brisbane Pro Wrestling Academy (BPWA) is a professional wrestling school located in the Central Business District of Brisbane, Australia. The school was founded in 2013 by retired professional wrestler Keelan Callihan. Opening its doors, the school quickly entered in a working relationship with local independent promotion BWC (Brisbane Wrestling Club), which is based out in Northgate, a suburb in Brisbane City.

Keelan Callihan opened Brisbane Pro Wrestling Academy in April 2013 after deciding to retire from active competition only a few months prior. spent the first five months as its only head trainer, before making the decision to hire another head trainer in Australian wrestling legend, Arnold B. Have.

With word of extensive quality and incredible teachings from amateur wrestlers in the area, the wrestling school would enter its busiest time in February 2014, with upwards of 40 people calling per day having intentions of pursuing a dream in professional wrestling. In July 2014, Brisbane Pro Wrestling Academy would have its first two graduates in Megan Raine and Hamish Fitzpatrick. In September 2014, Keelan made the decision to hire Rachael Frost, one of Australia's biggest female prospects at the time, to be the head female trainer to train the women that apply at the school.

In April 2017, the school celebrated its fourth anniversary of opening its doors. Having over 75 successful graduates, the school relies on special guest trainers from across the world to call upon which became available through forming friendships and having many industry connections. Arnold B. Have believes the guest trainers can be defined as the "backbone" to the wrestling school while Keelan is out with Omega Wrestling Alliance.

In January 2018, the school reached a total of 100 successful graduates which marks its biggest milestone to date.

Reputation[]

With the school being known for its continuous use of guest trainers who aren't brought in on a permanent basis, Brisbane Pro Wrestling Academy has had wrestlers being trained in many different aspects teaching all sorts of wrestling techniques to its pupils. In a lot of the advanced classes, students have been exposed to not only learning the ins-and-outs of the squared circle, but also coming to terms with technical wrestling, strong style wrestling, lucha-libre, submission-based wrestling, hardcore wrestling and even Greco-Roman wrestling. This has allowed the graduates that go out into the world show how diverse the school is with its training.
