Altered Reality

Altered Reality is an annual professional e-wrestling pay-per-view produced by Lords of Pain Wrestling (LPW) (formerly known as the Psychotic Wrestling Alliance). It is considered the flagship pay-per-view event of LPW, due to being the only pay-per-view of the season that features talent from both of the promotion's two distinct brands, Insanity and Inferno. The event was first produced in 2004, and four events have been produced as of 2009.

Since its inception, the pay-per-view concept showcases wrestlers from the Insanity and Inferno brands battling against each other in a series of matches to determine who is the superior brand of the season. Since Altered Reality II, the most notable of these matches is the main event, when Insanity's LPW World Heavyweight Champion faces Inferno's LPW International Heavyweight Champion for the prestigious Martinez Cup, the highest accomplishment to achieve in the promotion. Insanity leads Inferno for most Martinez Cup victories, having won two of three matches.

In addition, the event has been characterized by having four-on-four tag team elimination matches, featuring top e-wrestlers of one brand against a team of e-wrestlers from the opposing brand. At Altered Reality IV, "Champion vs. Champion" matches were officially introduced, in which champions of equal ranking from both brands would compete in a non-title match.

Overall, the rivalry between Insanity and Inferno has been tied, with each brand dominating in one Altered Reality apiece, while a third ended in a stalemate.
