AZCW TV, also known as Action Zone Championship Wrestling, AZCW on 7mate or simply AZCW, is an Australian professional wrestling television program produced by Action Zone Championship Wrestling that currently airs on Sunday nights on 7mate at 10:30pm AEST in Australia. The show currently features both highlights from the flagship AZCW Inferno program and exclusive taped matches featuring the male and female competitors from the mid-to-low card of the AZCW roster.

AZCW TV was originally the flagship show for the promotion, airing on Saturday nights each week from 1998 to 2000 (under the AZW banner) during its first run, and again from 2013 to 2017, before moving to YouTube in February 2017 under a revamped format, following the premiere of Inferno on 7mate.

History[]

(Under construction).

Broadcast History[]

AZCW TV (then known as AZW TV) originally premiered on the Seven Network on 2 May 1998, where it aired every Saturday night at 10:30pm until 30 December 2000, when the Seven Network opted not to renew the show.

The relaunched program, now known as AZCW TV relaunched on ABC2 on 2 November 2013, where it aired at it's original timeslot of Saturday night at 10:30pm until 3 October 2015, when ABC moved the program to their main channel in a earlier timeslot of 8:30pm. The show would quickly become the highest rating program in the its timeslot.

On 21 December 2016, it was announced that AZCW TV will be airing it's last televised episode on 28 January 2017 on ABC and would move to YouTube, where episodes will be uploaded weekly on Sunday afternoons starting from 5 February 2017 (the day after the premiere of AZCW Inferno on 7mate). AZCW TV aired it's last episode on 15 March 2020 before the program went on hiatus, as AZCW was affected by the restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Victoria. The program resumed on 20 December 2020 and continued to air weekly until 23 May 2021, when it went on hiatus once again due to lockdown restrictions being reimposed. On 24 October 2021, it was announced that AZCW TV would return to air in 2022, and would be moving to 7mate in a late-night timeslot of 10:30pm, commencing on 2 January 2022.

Production[]

Format[]

Originally, the show featured two to four matches over the course of the hour, as well as numerous interviews and segments interspersed between the matches. The show was revamped following the move to YouTube in 2017, recapping moments from the now-flagship program Inferno as well as occasionally featuring exclusive matches. Due to the nature of the wrestling business, advertisements for merchandise and upcoming live events often serve as bookends for the commercial segments.
