The 2008 FMW Draft was a selection process held by Full Metal Wrestling on August 18, 2008 as a means of re-drafting its entire roster to its two distinct brands, Alchemy and Anarchy.
Background[]
At Lethal Injection, The Resistance defeated Original Sin in the final battle of the Full Metal War, forcing Original Sin to relinquish its administrative power and permanently disband the group.
The following night, Nick Bryson spoke on behalf of The Resistance and announced that the Anxiety brand would fold due to its creation at the hands of Original Sin. The entire FMW roster would be re-drafted during the 2008 FMW Draft to the Alchemy and Anarchy brands. With a new beginning, the stage would be set for a "Rebirth" of Full Metal Wrestling.
RAMPAGE! was revealed as Alchemy's new general manager. Much to the surprise of everyone, The Resistance allowed Saint Michael Dreamkiller to remain as Anarchy's general manager, despite his role in trying to destroy FMW as a charter member of Original Sin.
With the first overall pick, Dreamkiller selected trusted ally Christian G. Smitten, who possessed the Gold Card which could be cashed in anytime for a Full Metal Championship title shot. RAMPAGE! countered by selecting Anarchy's most recognized superstar, Drew Michaels, as Alchemy's first overall selection. Dreamkiller would draft reigning FMW Champion, John "Doc" Derrick, with the third overall selection to guarantee the FMW Championship being on Anarchy.
With the supposedly last pick of the draft, Dreamkiller drafted the controversial The Great TO much to the resentment of fans and wrestlers alike. But before Dreamkiller could celebrate his pick, RAMPAGE! announced that Alchemy had one more pick. Citing Dreamkiller's wrestling contract he signed during Ultimatum, RAMPAGE! picked Dreamkiller as the last pick of the draft, forcing Dreamkiller to relinquish his management position, much to the enjoyment of The Resistance.
